    Love the bottle cap technique. I usually check them by dropping the frequency, but raising the coil is so much easier! Thanks for the tip.

    Very good video. Very informative. Here in Georgia we are in a drought and the ground is like a rock. But this morning I awoke to an awesome rain storm. I just wish my old Bounty Hunter machine was rain proof. I would be hitting areas that are normally bustling. Thank you for sharing your hunt. GL and HH. Eric

    It's really funny when you said "it could be a diamond ring" when I first started this hobby I could only afford an ace, 250 BUT I found more with that machine than I have with the all the other detectors because I dug everything that gave a "Ding" hahaha.

    Finally, A fellow hunter that realizes you'll lose your access or permission digging normal cuts in the grass during a drought, most periods when its been this dry, I stick to the lakes,creeks or the beach just for that reason. You can watch other TH-camrs digging in someones nice 1800's yard finding a few coins, cutting large holes with their relic shovel, I can just see the homeowner in the window saying " what was I thinking, I'll never let this happen again." Respect your digs just like it was your front yard, if its too dry,its too dry.Spend the hot, dry days in the cool on some good research and you'll be ready when the rain comes. You have a great handle on the Deus and you are good at explaining how your reading the signals. Good job on your video, hope to see a lot more.hh

      That's great advice "Respect your digs just like it was your front yard" . With sound thinking like that I find my luck also improves. Maybe it's metal detecting Karma?
      Thanks for your post bringing up an excellent tip and thank you for watching.
      Best of luck to you and enjoy that next spectacular find, brought to you by metal detecting Karma !

    nice video off a fantastic detector
    used it once ,from a fellow detectorist and it was awsome.so light and fast , and has good depth to it.
    i too use a vaquero, and altough that suits me better for usage ..the xp has pretty technolgy on board.
    used a explorer before , two of them series and not worked out as a expected , thr deeper coins i often pull out with my vaquero and often my explorer did not sensed them..
    for deep silver coins they where just fine , and for the salt wet sand at the beaches , but for all the other enviroments i would pick the deus any day ..
    or off course the easy beeper , the vaquero.
    very clear video , lots of information
    well done mr

      I think the light weight of the Tesoro Vaquero and XP Deus make both of those machines excellent for a long day hunt since both machines are very capable of great finds.
      Many great finds to you and Happy Hunting !

    This is one of the best instructional Deus XP videos I've seen, thanks for the tips. I hunt pretty much like you do though I don't pass up as many iffy targets as you do. Raising the coil over the bottle caps is a good technic, I have been using the wiggle of method and will give yours a try, thanks

    Instead of raising the coil and watching the numbers tumble on square tabs, try slowly moving the coil back towards you whilst still sweeping . The tone will change from good to Iron ( if you have iron on)

      You are correct. Everybody needs to listen to Darren's advice because he is right. I think somehow messing with the camera making this video it broke my normal start up routine. I'll try to make sure i make a point to stress this important advice if I make a future video.

    Now that ground is dry... Agree with viewer's comments on pull tab tips but I use an AT Pro and I'm not sure that change in ID number happens the same. Sure wish it would tho'. Tabs do often give a double beep but that happens with many coins. An Excellent video :o)

    Does it make the detector unstable the higher the Htz? The numbers drop down on our coins in Oz when raising the coil?? Maybe I was in 11-12 Htz and that makes a difference. I'll try it on 18Htz and Yamaha P45 digital pianosee what happens. Good video for those of us who haven't had their Deus machines long, like me. I'm still on 3:2 program. Is it worth updating my Deus to the 4 or 5 programs? I hope you have time to return my comments, I would really appreciate it. Regards, Chris.

    Nice job making the video !!! Since you were not digging deep...do you think the Tesoro vaquero would have given you the same results as the Deus??? Does the Deus go deeper than the Vaquero? I use the E-trac, and now the new owner of the Vaquero. I am not having very good luck getting deep coins with the Vaquero.I have tried negative ground balance & super tuning. I would say my E-trac gets double the depth of the Vaquero for coins.

      Hi! Thank you and thanks for watching !
      I actually do think the Tesoro Vaquero would give me the same results as the XP Deus at that location on that day. The XP Deus really shines when it comes to recovery speeds in very high levels of trash/iron while providing clear signals but the Tesoro Vaquero has a way of alerting you to slow down and take a closer look. The Vaquero is a truly outstanding machine that seems to operate a little different than the Deus. The Vaquero is very capable and I like it very much. The Deus bangs coins quite a bit deeper in my soil yet the Vaquero also does very well and I think Tesoro really shines with all their products and wouldn't hesitate using any of them. It's hard to beat the performance of the Deus tho compared to any of the other detectors I own. One can adjust the settings on the Deus to perform very much like any of the other detectors I own and that has caused the other detectors to not get as much use.
      Every detector has its strong point and I believe versatility is definitely one of the Deus once you get familiar with it.
      The Other detectors I don't own that have my interest currently are:
      Minelab CTX 3030
      Minelab E-Trac
      Minelab (pulse induction types)
      White's TDI SL
      Blisstool V5,V6
      I have a feeling the Blisstool V5 or V6 might be like the Vaquero with a lot more punch. I'm very interested in it.
      Thanks again for watching and have great next hunt !

    no disc is the way forward IMO :-)
    Brother, that ground looks drier than a long dead camel in the desert! hard work eh
    one thing, when you turn on hold the coil off the ground until the start up sequence is complete (ie when the coil led stops flashing fast) some people call this the 'air balance'.. you'll get much better performance, I don't know exactly why but it really does
    I really enjoyed your video so I subbed, good stuff :-)

    do you ever keep a bottom end discrimination slot that will hit steel pennies

    • @certaindiscoverytr7422
      @certaindiscoverytr7422  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI !
      I like to hunt with the XP Deus in full tones and no discrimination as much as I can. I could see myself digging a steel penny if it was a banging signal but I would probably discriminate it out if I wasn't looking specifically for it.
      Have you ever found a steel penny?
      Thanks again for watching!

    • @WilliamR-nt5ek
      @WilliamR-nt5ek 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a couple steel pennies but they weren't found. I currently have a explorer II, and I plan to add the steel penny to a target list for my machine. I'm not too savvy with the programing. I think there just might be lots of steel pennies out there... from the 40's... with my explorer...any discrimination will lose it. I have my eye on the Deus, but it's a little spendy for me... but I'm saving for it. My Minelab is old, but still works ok... I'm just geared for a new machine.

    • @certaindiscoverytr7422
      @certaindiscoverytr7422  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the XP Deus would give you a fair amount of resolution on good condition steel penny targets and you could most definitely set a program to respond with authority ( in theory) but If I was hunting solely for steel pennies I would consider my Tesoro Vaquero or maybe even a Tesoro Compadre. Tesoro from what I have experienced seems to have great discrimination abilities that have a firm grip and understanding of ferrous targets and I would consider an analog machine for the ability to hear the difference in response based on size and shape as I feel an analog machine seems to give one a little better feel for the condition of the target more so than a digital machine like the XP Deus.
      Who knows, I've heard the Tesoro Tejon has some of the highest resolution available in identifying ferrous targets by some relic hunters, so that might be the machine you're looking for. No programming either and Tesoro makes quality machines with lifetime warranties.
      On the other hand, the Tesoro Compadre is only 160$, has that great analog sound and isn't as powerful so it would help ensure that your targets were in reasonably good condition and weed out some of the false signals.
      But in conclusion, finding a steel penny in good condition would be a feat in its self, unfortunately from what I gather, steel pennies tend to rust with minimal humidity.

      Toyota Subaru I own both and there's no comparison.. the deus is uber versatile, the racer does one thing moderately well with 'old' traditional technology.. you're comparing a Ferrari to a Volkswagen and saying a vw is better. Subjective I guess.. The deus is a precision instrument that has to be learned and until then it just performs like any other detector, once learnt you can get peak performance in pretty much any inland situation. There's NO other detector that can do this.
