This XP Deus custom program is great for searching stubble.
It is based on the version 5x software and can be used with any coil.
I prefer the X35 coils or the HF coils as the higher frequencies hit hard on low conductivity targets such as small Gold and Silver coins.
The Sonar program uses factory program number 6 DEEP as a base platform which hits hard on deep targets, this program may be a little to powerful for working heavy iron.
In this case use program 9 HOT as a base program.

I love your videos. I like this program at the bank of the river. The reactivity 4 with high frequency is very good in heavy iron, the machine separates fantastically.

Hi Gary, I have been using your sonar program on my last three digs, lots of coke, but wow! My first first Roman - a trumpet brooch and a 15th century French Jetton, again my first. I love his program. Thank you. Also it really picks up very, very small items.

J’adore ce programme et j’aime beaucoup le hot qui utilise les filtres de la version 3.2 j’ai créé mon propre programme avec le hot en 3 ton avec mes propres réglages c’est une merveille et j’aime aussi beaucoup le deep qui utilise les filtres de la version 2 merci gary vous êtes le meilleur 👏👍

Amazing program which I use most of the time.
Used sonar based on hot last Sunday
Changed sensitivy to 99 and audio response to 3 .
Surprisingly it worked very well in heavy iron infested areas and I managed to find cut quarter,cut half and 3 tiny hammered farthings and lots of small really small bits of lead.
At sensitivity 99 program is very sparky but all good targets just as you said stops you in your track.
Also made my own program(basically sonar) to use it on trashy (modern junk like foil etc.) Areas or dry sand to avoid most of the foil.
Sold my old 11 inch coil as i love HF Round coil but thinking to get x35 11 one thought HF coil keeps me surprised how deep it is if you set machine correctly for land you're hunting on

gardansolyn hello I’m from Uruguay South America. I need to ask you a question? I’m a new xp deus user with 11” coil, a live in front of the beach. I’m I quit sure that best program for beach hunt it’s Gold field... what I detect with is its invisible for both beach programs. It is posible? Sorry about my English

but but but.. why to prefer the higher frequency coils if you put the freq between 7 and 12 ?? I don't even have anything lower than 14 on my hf coil. Does it work the same but then for smaller low conductivity targets which the standard coils don't see as well?
Hello Gary, your sonar program is great. However, I used the basic program Hot as a basis and reduced the response time to 2.5. In my opinion, the signals are even more crisp and it goes a little deeper with the x35 coil.

I've owned a Deus now for eight years. I love the machine. However, I've had to replace the coil charger 4 times! The copper pins are so fragile and a bad design, in my opinion. What do you think?
yes that must be the only negative thing about it; I have to fiddle with it. Wipe the 2 contacts and then very slowly let the clamp down otherwise the pin go into a wrong direction
Yes, if you don't get the contact just right they easily snap off! Just ordered another one today
Hi. I cover those two copper pins on coil since day one with sticking band-aids. Just mind not to cover up the pins with the sticking part of the band-aid because glue will distort the conductivity. XP needs a small rubber cup of some kind for this part of the device.

Thanks for your message the ORX has no tone adjustments so you can't replicate the Sonar program.

Hey Gary. I wonder Ur useing reactivity 4, it Must Have an Effekt in depht right?
Very often successful detecting is not always about depth, it's about putting finds in your pocket....The more you dig the better your odds.
Higher reactivity of 4 will effect depth on certain targets in clean ground compared to 2.5..
(Gone back to my good old Deus one from that 2 which I didn't like as much!) SONAR PROG. Are you saying use the deep prog as a platform for a cokey site but the hot prog as a sonar platform for an irony/roman site Gary?
It's up to you, load up both and compare on the day.

I am planning to buy another detector, have been looking for years with a garrett but am now thinking of an XP Deus .. Now I see that a lot of xp deus has been offered here in Holland lately as 2nd hand !! I have checked with a dealer and this seems to be due to the arrival of the Minelab equenox 800, almost everyone wants it .. But I doubt, is the Minelab so much better than the Deus?
What is your opinion?

I own an Equinox and think it is a very capable machine, but like every detector it has its individual limitations. I found it struggles on ancient sites with lots of Iron.
Personally I think the Deus and XP technology are still the best products available.

Yes this is a very popular machine, it will be suitable for beginners as it has factory programs installed. You may also want to look at the XP ORX.

@@The-skillschool hi gary I've been out and had a bit of a ding in the field and I must say it is a very impressive set up .my only dislike if I can call it that was that there seems to be a bit more chatter than I was hoping for maybe do you think i should do ground balance maybe see you next month can show me were I need to be (detectavil)

Hi Gary. I have a Deus 1 with just the headphones. I am new to this hobby so can you set up the sonar program with the headphone set up and no remote control box.

No it is not possible because the headphones have no tone breaks.
The closest will be using Deus Fast in 2 tones 202 + 881, then copy the rest of the Sonar settings.

Hi Gary, looking on to buy a second hand remote. I am concerned that the battery life may be low as I do not know the age of the remote. Have been looking for replacement battery costs but cannot find any places selling batteries. Any advice please.
@@ivancotterill6059 XP don't sell the batteries direct.
I'm sure your service center will be more than happy to check the RC and replace the battery if required.

Make sure you have the latest version on all your items.
If you have and it still looses connectivity ask your XP dealer to check it over.

If you can install it with no problems, it will be fine. There is lots of ground feedback (low tone) but good targets hit hard.
