Its amazing how you can tell a pro apart just by how he looks on the bike. I saw that move and was like 'woah' even before he pointed out hes a pro. You can just tell.
I'm loving the ambassador of goodwill tour you've got going on. Imagine how fun it would be to have your own enclosed race course. And don't even get me started about the jersey designations. Hopefully riders from other countries take notice of this channel and forward footage your way. p.s. I'm only 6 mins into this video, but I wouldn't write off red gloves so soon. Maybe he had a hard time making it to the front for the lead-out. Who knows? Maybe we'll find out. Popcorn at the ready. P.P.S. Et tu, Red Gloves?
Correct. I race with them and Glenn isn't that snappy, so if red gloves wanted to screw Glenn in that sprint, he would've done so. Also Glenn is not helping red gloves that much either is he
But red gloves is sitting in second in that competition, so he's not really taking points off the board. It seems like he's still fighting for the sprint competition as well.
I'm right now producing a video series that includes top tips for beginner Crit racers. It's called couch to Crit, we're on episode 4 check out the series or jump on a weekly livestream. Saturdays 9am PST
Yeah Glenn was working way harder than he had to right through that race by not sticking on someones wheel and letting them do the work. Dropping 5 or 6 wheels and then allowing a break to open up and then immediately bridging it back again was definitely harder work than it needed to be. Great commentary and analysis and I hope Glenn does/did well.
The only thing I can think that red gloves was passive, that he wanted glen to lead him and Glen to react to the breakaways that give good position. So he can get the advantage on time. That's what I think from my little knowledge, and at the end he was prolly frustrated so gave up on the plan. Glen puts in the efforts to react and make blue shirt react and do more efforts over time. Red gloves and Glen work together on the pushes, red gloves being behind first with Glen leading then rotating through while in front. And then making blue shirt do all the work. Am I wrong?
I ride this parkour its realy fun but the curves are realy easy and the climb isn’t that big but realy fun And i realy like this video i hope you can do this more
Hey guys. What model of bikes are these guys running and what price range? I'm wanting to get a road bike but also one that's capable of racing incase I give it a try at some local events. Thanks
Those are most high end bikes there around 2k and 5k mostly, if i were you i would do a search on ebay to find a decent bike that will fullfill your needs
With greatest respect Jeff, my gut reaction when I originally seen this vid on my subscription list was that I wasn't at all excited about clicking through to it. I know it's great analysis and discussion but it's the same rider on the same course, and (I presumed before watching) the same race as we've been seeing for a while now. I'm completely a fan of your channel and I know race footage is hard to come by right now in the world but I'm a little bored watching this. A bit like how watching the same leadout from legion of LA again and again gets boring despite never being anything less than perfectly executed. Just food for thought, but otherwise keep up the good work!
Each race is unique, even if it's the same rider on the same course. That's what's great about this sport. The same pro tour teams race the same pro tour courses every year for decades but it's always different and exciting racing. Hope you change your mind and check it out anyway, I promise I'll make the best analysis possible 👍
Hey I’m monty and I’m twelve and English As it’s lock down there isn’t munch chance for me your a join a club I absuletoly love road cycling and every aspect I’m fit and light for my age and am a good hill cyclist I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to get started in racing Especially in a time of lockdown in England Ps. I’m saving up for a watt bike and swift
While he did make some mistakes I think you were a bit too harsh on red gloves. Rred gloves didn't do anything wrong in that first intermediate sprint by finishing second. He didn't contest the sprint, thus handing Glen maximum points and enabling him to extend his lead. Finishing second is the smart thing to do. Why should he give up his second place? There are still a few races to go, what if Glen for whatever reason can't do these races? He might crash, get injured, sick, etc. Then instead of sitting in second place overall, he might sit in third or fourth place and potentially hand the win in the sprint competition to a competitor of both him and Glen.
@@gln666Going into the race, the best possible result at the intermediate sprints would be you finishing first, red gloves finishing second. That way you'd extend your lead and both of you would further distance the competion. This is exactly what happened in the first intermediate sprint. You won, because red gloves didn't contest the sprint, he didn't try to sprint you at all. At the same time he quite easily held the bunch off for second place. Very well done. The guy who is 3rd in the standing either wasn't near the front or didn't have the sprint legs to even be a threat. If red gloves was aware of that, he played it perfectly. Better than finishing behind the guy who is third in the standings, that would have been handing points to a competitor.
red gloves and knee warmers, sure signs of a traitor
Glenn rocks: "I want to work, I don't care."

I just want to say that when the conti rider attacked at 8:22 i rewatched that many times just to see how good he looked tucking around that corner

So red gloves: Not the best fashion item for 2021.
Better to throw those to trash after this video :D

Love the videos with Glenn.
omg. thanks for the points breakdown. great stuff
This dedicated racing course is so epic
We have them in the UK. I just wish British Cycling let us film our races :(
There is one in SC in the USA also
Wish these were common in NorCal...
@@sjoerdtenijenhuis1681 How do we have space for that in the Netherlands :-O
If red gloves comes in behind Glenn, it still helps Glenn because it takes other points off the board from Glenn's competition.

Glenn didnt fight to get on red gloves wheel with 500 meters to go.
