Going all the way back 50 years, he's had hit after hit, and then proved his true gifts with "Innervisitions" and "Songs In the Key of Life", but had hits well into the 90's. May well still be writing, too. Performed at the Kennedy Center Honors, for the award to Berry Gordy, who discovered him. (Gordy was getting the award for founding Motown, among other things, and Motown records made stars out of a whole stable of exceptional artists of color- in fact, I think it's safe to say that "Motown" now means this one specific genre of R&B music.....but I digress....) He started making successful records as "Little Stevie Wonder", sining and playing harmonica. Yeah, he was already great when he was 11!!!

I think that sometimes your consciousness can happen on this earth a second time around. For me, I wrote "Higher Ground" even before the accident. But something must have been telling me that something was going to happen to make me aware of a lot of things and to get myself together. One of my faves from Stevie, along with Superstitious. He's a genius. Being from Michigan, I grew up with Motown, and Stevie in particular. He's only a few years older than me, and had his 1st hit at age 12.
