I'm grateful for the genuis of Stevie Wonder, his music, and his courage to go on and on wishing profoundly in the deep depts of his soul that humanity will rise above hate and fear...that is from a black blind man. Stevie also wrote great songs that other artists recorded as well, like Lovin You, recorded by the late Minnie Ripperton, Michael Jackson’s I Can’t Help It, or Rufus & Chaka Kahn hit, Tell Me Something Good.Also the album that this is from is so epic because it was a double album. This culminated 6 years in which Stevie Wonder came out with genius album after genius album. And this is his magnum opus -- his greatest work -- most people consider it so anyway. So many great songs on that album, and the way the whole is so seamlessly put together -- often one song leads right into another. It's a full experience -- two full albums, four sides. Yes he did write the lyrics this album came out a few years after his near fatal car accident. On this particular recording his first children's mother is singing backup on this song.
