Yes! I remember one year in the 1970's. Stevie received several nominations. He couldn't attend, so he asked Mayor Coleman Young of Detroit to attend and accept for him if he won. Well, Stevie kept winning one award after another. Finally, Mayor Young said "I haven't been this busy since the election."
Stevie wrote AND recorded this in 3 hours, AND he played all the instruments himself. This album Innervisions is maybe my favorite album of all time. Absolute MASTERPIECE.

Also, interesting to note that as he was a blind child, Stevie's school counselors suggested basket weaving for him as a profession, thinking there was little else he'd be able to do. Amazing. But then no more amazing than the fact that Decca records auditioned the Beatles in 1962 and rejected them.
Agree with the recommendations for “Sir Duke,” “I Wish,” “Living for the City,” and “You Haven’t Done Nothing.” I would also put in a good word for some of the early Motown hits like “I Was Made To Love Her,” “Uptight,” and “For Once In My Life.” You also can’t forget great ballads like “Lately” and “Overjoyed.” So much great material to choose from with Stevie.
I went to a Rock and Roll show in the early 60’s and a 13 year old kid named Little Stevie Wonder performed “Fingertips Part II”. He’s a living legend with great hits and this is no exception. It’s nice that young guys like you appreciate great music. Thank you guys.

Probably already mentioned in the comments, but he played every instrument. His left hand bass work on the Moog is incredible. So funky. My favorite for his bass is on Boogie on Reggae Woman.

The first album I bought. So damn good. At 60, I still revisit Innervisions regularly. You are right at the threshold of a Stevie journey that will last for years. IMHO the best single artist of our time..best of travels to you both!
Stevie Wonder is in a class almost all by himself. There is no other singer like him. He is in the top tier of recording artists along with The Beatles, and Elvis. They are above all others, having hit after hit of amazing quality. IMHO.

Stevie's first hit was a song called "Fingertips, Part 2" - it was a live song he did in 1963 when he was 12 years old and billed as "Little Stevie Wonder.
"'For Once In My Life", "Ribbon in the Sky", "Lately", "Superwoman", "My Cherie Amour", "Master Blaster" (Jammin). I could go on and on. He's been doing it since 1963 ("Uptight"). A true American musical legend/treasure. Saw him live twice. In the 70s and sometime in the late 80s under the stars and the Chicago skyline at Grant Park. And wow what an amazing concert that was, with nearly perfect sound that would rival any venue in the area. A standing room only field of tens of thousands of music lovers from every section of the city suburbs and country just groovin' to some Stevie. He must have done half his catalogue which is pretty extensive. One of those perfect nights. 💗 ✨

The ‘sound’ is a synth patch that is now added to most synthesizers called the ‘Stevie Wonder Clavichord’. He has that much influence on others. So amazing.

That Innervisions album is a masterpiece. There's so many more genius songs from him, every song mentioned in the comments need to be listened to. But for me "Living For The City" should be next.

More Stevie please guys. He was God to me as a teenager in the 70's. Still is. To pluck out one track to recommend is impossible. His whole back catalogue of that period is fantastic.
Picking which Stevie Wonder song to play next is like asking to pick your favorite child and makes about as much sense as taking sand to the beach. Just play one. Stevie is a musical Mount Rushmore national treasure. The obstacles this man has avoided and conquered in his life and still “kept moving in the positive” is truly inspirational. Having said that, granted I haven’t seen all the comments and the songs thrown out there are all worthy but I didn’t see ‘Master Blaster’ but now I do.

Little Stevie Wonder debuted on the charts with FINGERTIPS at the tender age 14, one of Barry Gordys' stable at Motown. He was all over the radio for 25 years, wrote all his material, and played ALL the instruments on his records. Top ten artist in the second half of the 20th Century.
"Sir Duke" next. No poll necessary. Nathan Watts' bass is the only thing that can keep up with Stevie's left hand. He even plays along with the horn lines. It's a must listen.
I love Sir Duke because it's one of the most fun songs EVER (it even feels like it speeds up a little as it gets going because you're just rocking along with the band). Stevie uses this song to pay tribute to all of these artists, many of whom were trailblazers and all of the musicians he mentions (in order: Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald) are phenomenal. It's also something old school poets and storytellers did, as a way of putting themselves among the ranks of the greats (like Dante making Virgil a character/guide for the narrator of The Divine Comedy). Love the swagger, love the instrumentals, Stevie's voice is always amazing, and the song is fantastic.
Love your takes, great choice. Stevie makes every single sound on this song - vocals, drums, percussion, clavs, moog synth bass and whatever else is there. Other good Stevie includes Boogie On Raggae Woman and Too High (both feature his chromatic harmonica playing!) Great Latin vibe on Don't You Worry "Bout A Thing. Can't really go wrong with Stevie.

Stevie was on Sesame Street when I was kid in the 70's. I've never known a world without Stevie Wonder. He is a national treasure.

The first album I bought. So damn good. At 60, I still revisit Innervisions regularly. You are right at the threshold of a Stevie journey that will last for years. IMHO the best single artist of our time..best of travels to you both!

Stevie Wonder is in a class almost all by himself. There is no other singer like him. He is in the top tier of recording artists along with The Beatles, and Elvis. They are above all others, having hit after hit of amazing quality. IMHO.
One of my favorite songs by Stevie Wonder is "I Wish". You will love it.
I remember the Beach Party movies [as a kid] in the '60's (lol) and the beginning credits had "And Introducing Little Stevie Wonder" in one of those surf flix. I think he was 14. Been go going ever since.

And wow what an amazing concert that was, with nearly perfect sound that would rival any venue in the area. A standing room only field of tens of thousands of music lovers from every section of the city suburbs and country just groovin' to some Stevie. He must have done half his catalogue which is pretty extensive. One of those perfect nights. 💗 ✨

That Innervisions album is a masterpiece. There's so many more genius songs from him, every song mentioned in the comments need to be listened to. But for me "Living For The City" should be next.

Picking which Stevie Wonder song to play next is like asking to pick your favorite child and makes about as much sense as taking sand to the beach. Just play one. Stevie is a musical Mount Rushmore national treasure. The obstacles this man has avoided and conquered in his life and still “kept moving in the positive” is truly inspirational. Having said that, granted I haven’t seen all the comments and the songs thrown out there are all worthy but I didn’t see ‘Master Blaster’ but now I do.

I love Sir Duke because it's one of the most fun songs EVER (it even feels like it speeds up a little as it gets going because you're just rocking along with the band). Stevie uses this song to pay tribute to all of these artists, many of whom were trailblazers and all of the musicians he mentions (in order: Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald) are phenomenal. It's also something old school poets and storytellers did, as a way of putting themselves among the ranks of the greats (like Dante making Virgil a character/guide for the narrator of The Divine Comedy). Love the swagger, love the instrumentals, Stevie's voice is always amazing, and the song is fantastic.
Love your takes, great choice. Stevie makes every single sound on this song - vocals, drums, percussion, clavs, moog synth bass and whatever else is there. Other good Stevie includes Boogie On Raggae Woman and Too High (both feature his chromatic harmonica playing!) Great Latin vibe on Don't You Worry "Bout A Thing. Can't really go wrong with Stevie.

Stevie Wonder six decades of greatness! everything is great from him! Gifted and shared the greatness. I remember hearing all the songs on the radio am and fm. Happy Birthday is for Martin Luther King another one to hear but aren't they all! Hes's Motown and much more! Such a talent, was gifted for all to hear! I am glad I got to hear it all! He is a legend your're blessed to have heard his songs.

I'd suggest Songs In The Key Of Life if it wasn't a 4-record set (the original album had 3LPs, plus a 4-song, 33&1/3rpm EP). Probably a little too long for anyone's schedule
