I really like my Futaba 3PRKA.... Simple yes, but for a basic Radio that has 3 Channels, there's really NO comparison - for $55.00!!! *That* is a basic starter Radio for Hobbiests and Bashers.
For the SMALLER Price Point, the 3PRKA has a FAR better Receiver, Transmitter, Range and reliability, than ANY Radio that came with your RTR!! (And most of those are only 2 Channel anyway)
I DO AGREE with you though about the 3PV. If you have more than 2 Rigs, if you need more adjustability parameters, if you're starting out in Semi-Pro Racing - THIS is the Radio for you!!
Also, when I hook up my Wraith with 4-wheel Steering, I'm going to HAVE to step up to the 3PV.
...... also, I've got Big Hands..... This should be a good fit for me!! 😎😜

I'm a bit disappointed when I compared my rc4gs to the 3pv settings and found the 3pv lacking. Kinda surprising seeing that the 3pv costs 2x the rc4gs. I found out while comparing the settings in the 4pm and 3pv and saw the rc4gs had all that the 4pm has and what the 3pv doesn't. Wondering if I paid for name 🤷♂️. I had issues with my rc4gs and hoping the communication issues are gone with the futaba, just a bit miffed to see the cheaper radiolink has more adjustability than the futaba 3pv.
Radiolink has always killed it in terms of features.
@@RazorRC after looking at the radiolink's menu, that for sure is quite clear. Still a bit unclear as to what the ATL function actually does but 🤷♂️
I like the Sanwa MX-6 because it has the water resistant Receiver. All though This Futaba 3PV tho looks built better.
FYI
I used to us Futaba only! Then I started having problems with the
radios and had to start dealing with there warranty and service
department. Warranty wasn't to bad but they will shaft you given a
chance!
The worst radio was a 6 channel air radio and while I was
flying it :the radio" went backwards and of course the result was my
first totaled plane! Well I really didn't realize what happened and I
wrote it off as a fluke, the second time and second plain the same thing
happened about two weeks latter and before I figured out the radio went
backwards the plane was ANOTHER TOTAL! OH, after the first TOTAL I sent
radio into service and they updated firmware and checked it out and
said EVERYTHING was PERFECT. OK Second TOTAL I sent it in again and they
said it was PERFECT again, I also sent in RX too just to make sure
everything was OK. They told me I was CRAZY and NOTHING was wrong with
ther radios. OK i got everything installed again in another plane and in
flight it happened again but this time I didn't total the plane just
wasted the fuselage! I started testing the radio and got it to do it
again out of plane. I sent it in again and they argued with me and even
got nasty with me cause they got but hurt,so I said I wanted my money
back and they told me to jump in a lake that they will not do ANYTHING!
They got mad at me for being upset at three wrecked planes and about two
months of wasted flying time let alone the $200 I wasted buying there
JUNK radio.
OH, and to top it off they ended up admitting finally
about 4years later they had a problem with that model! But at the time
the fought everyone tooth and nail so they wouldn't have to pay out
millions on a BAD DESIGN!!! Now that's customer service with a smile,
the hole time there putting the meat to you. GOOD LUCK as I have never
ever had a problem using any other radio brand ONLY FUTABA!
New to the hobby and looking to pick up a radio. Right now I am tossing up the Graupner so I could use their ESC with telemetry and this radio. What is the basic needs when racing? Is it just battery voltage or is temps, rpm ect needed? I plan on getting my feet wet in the 1/10 buggy indoor. Great video and thanks for the review.
Thank you.... the only thing I really want is to be able to keep an eye on my main pack to keep it healthy. Everything else I was not sure of. It seem that this radio will do the deed for less than 200 dollars which includes the voltage telemetry for the main pack as they are not cheap. Thank you for an awesome review.

Question, in this review you said around $109/129 based on rx choice. Sooo why in 2020 does this same radio now retail for $170??? This review was 3yrs ago. Do electronics appreciate in price and not depreciate?

It has 2 receiver options. One is not telemetry capable and the other is
just got a dsx5c it wont stay bined not sure why i didnt buy futaba
Does the auto off really work as stated? I was testing mine to see and all it did was constantly beep and nothing but beeps. 🤷♂️. A buddy tested the auto off on his 7px and it took 15mins to go off. 10 to start the process, constant beeps as well and 5mins later it shut off. I tested my 3pv and it did same, alarm at 10min mark and then auto off 5 mins later. So a ttl of 15mins from inactivity to auto off.
Which has low latency? S-fhss or t-fhss?
Could you also use this with VRC racing simulator
Can you get battery voltage from onboard the model with this radio? Or would I need to hop up to the 4pv?
Whats the limit for steering trim? On my recent flysky the steering trim is max out to 35,was hoping the 3pv has more trim

When i push up on the trigger it's Drive .and down is Break . Can't figure out how to reverse it to normal settings . Thanks Brett
Brett Wilson it should be the rev setting for channel 2. If that doesn’t work, try flipping your motor wires.

Hello i know this is a old review but i have a new arrma mojave with stx2 radio and the truck has horrible range and glitching im afraid to drive it to lose it would this be a big step up in performance as far as safety and range ? Im just a basher not looking to spend a ton thanks

Based on what you mentioned can I use this radio with my car if another driver is using the same radio? You said that the rx are listening for the radio so if another driver with the same radio is next to me and turn on their radio and car and I turn on my radio will his car's rx then pair to my radio?
it won't pair (bind) unless you press the bind button on the receiver, so you won't have any problems.

You cant use the 3rd channel in servo winch.ill tried mine but no luck.

I had a 3PL which was pretty good so I upgraded to a 3PV.

no, every brand has to match with its own brand

Road wheels have more bling I guess but it also means land vehicle? I wish I could light my cigarette from in the middle.

thats a intry level radio to you but to me the flysky fsg2 is entry level to me and enouph for me lol because to me a radio is a radio is wont make a difference for me lol my adjustments will come from my esc lol
