Great video...information people NEED to make a proper decision. A little over a year ago, I was looking to upgrade to a higher-quality Tx, and I played the same "Futaba vs Sanwa" game, although I was considering the MT-44, as opposed to the MT-S. They were fairly even, except in one majorly-important category - receivers - which was the deciding factor. If I planned on never owning more than 5 RCs, the Sanwa would have probably won. However, in knowing that I'd have '6 or more', the Futaba became the more cost efficient option. I decided to take my comparison one step higher, putting the MT-44 against the 7PX. Once I started realizing that I could easily end up with more than 7 RCs, even the 7PX was less costly. While not all of my vehicle's receivers have been switched to Futaba, I will state that, between my off-road & on-road vehicles, my bashers, my crawlers, and my boats, I currently have 11 completed vehicles/vessels, with 6 (or is it 7...I'm blanking at the moment) more either enroute, being built, or about to be started. The Futaba proved to be the (much) better, smarter, and overall-less-costly option.

Great review! I am going to buy a Futaba as I have always had them and I was interested in the Sanwa but this just made me mind up as I do believe the Futaba is a supreme brand.

I purchased my first 5th scale and it came with Flysky FS-GT3B RC Transmitter Receiver 2.4Ghz 3 Channel. I am looking to upgrade to the next level. What transmitter would you recommend for me to purchase between Futaba , fly sky, and or Sanwa brand? Thks

I’ve never found any usable purpose for telemetry outside of temp sensor for Nitro engine..
I know it’s old, but would the Sanwa M11X be considered better than these? Looking at getting a used one.
Is very useful mate. If you use for example a traxxas sensor around the engine, you can adjust it proper without use always with you a thermometer and you know when you must to stop for not burn anything. As well can be used for electric cars brushess where the motor heats more than a brushed motor.
Sanwa MT-S is not available now, nothing between the $100 & $400 price points... do you suppose another $250ish radio is on the way?
Hey thanks for the review. I have a MT-s and it's great. The recievers are a little pricey, but I guess that's standard for any radio. I have recently been given a yokomo yd2 rx dift chassis. This is a high end chassis I believe. I wonder if the mt-s is going to be a suitable radio for drifting, or if it needs something higher end. For racing the MT-s is just great to be honest

its been a few months now, do you still have/use/race 4pm ? is sanwa still a better race radio in your opinion ? can you tell the difference in response time between the radios?
the difference is pretty imperceptible, I still got both. they're both good radios, the 4PM is higher end and nicer, but more expensive
Radio testing is definetly your niche.I really appreciate your testing and i' m sure others do to.I am wondering are these 2 radios light years ahead of the RC6GS and FS-GT5 (that you have also tested)and worth the xtra money for the average basher occasional track use?
light years, yes. worth it, no probably not.
Excellent review! Personally, I prefer the Futaba - Performance, styling, features, adjustability, value, it has it all! That being said, both radios are so close, I dont really think you can go wrong with either 👍
I am from europe, Futaba 4PM 230 euro, Sanwa MT-44 250 euro. What you tnink is better radio for those money. Would you recomend getting futaba or it is Sanwa still better in 2022?
I have the T4PM and I run the 3 Energizer Lithium Batteries and Generally 1 Night a Week and with these Batteries, I can almost run 4-5 Months before replacement! OUTSTANDING BATTERIES that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I prefer the feel of the Sanwa MT44 over the Futaba 4PM. I know exactly what you’re saying when you used the word vague. It also feels better in my hand. My first Sanwa was an Airtronics XL2P 27mhz. I loved that radio. Weird thing is, I prefer Futaba for flying. I wish Sanwa had a 7 channel pistol grip like Futaba
What is the better, MT44 ore T4PM? I have the MT44

FLYSKY BY FAAAR! I'VE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS, AND ITS ERGONOMIC AS WELL AS AMBIDEXTROUS.

EXACTLY !!! FLYSKY NOBLE ALL THE WAY. I HAVE HAD 1 FOR A YR AND A HALF, I RUN 6 OF MY CARS ON IT. YOU CAN FEEL THE WEIGHT AND BUILD. ITS A SOLID RADIO.
One would think it’s about time for Sanwa to release an update to their entry-level line seeing the MT-S has been out for close to 5 years. I think the fact that being that old in comparison but still pretty comparable says a lot in itself.
Agree 100%. The MT-S was great when it was first released, but it's getting pretty long in the tooth. Hopefully they release something this year.
Here Futaba Receiver cost up to two times more. It’s even possible to buy a good Sanwa compatible Receiver for 25.
In the meantime the Sanwa MT-44 cost here the same as the T4PM. With the 334 Receiver the T4PM is much more expensive as the MT-44 with the 481.
BTW it’s really difficult to understand the differences with Futaba Receiver…
If I wouldn’t got a really good offer for a uses T4PM I would definitely pick a MT-44.
We have a couple MX-V radios, amd a handful of recievers for those, as well as a Spektrum DX3S(from the first batch like 13-14 yrs ago), and a handful of Spektrum recievers....
Seems the Sanwa radios above the entry level don't all support the recievers that the MX-V used.... someday we might upgrade those to something shiny and new, but at this point they work fine, so I'm thinking of snagging a DX5C for this summmer to add to our radio collection...

IT ROCKS! (FLYSKY NOBLE) I USE MINE ON 6 OF MY CARS. BUTTER SMOOTH AND AMBIDEXTROUS.

$229 for the 4pm without receiver isn't bad. But I still think the 3PV is the best value for a basher $120 with a receiver.
The 3PV is a good radio for sure.
MT-S for $160 or 4PM for $260? Everything about the 4PM looks and seems great, but the cost difference on some sites makes it a really tough choice.
for $100 less, I'd get the MT-S

the MT-S costs $249 w/ receiver, the 4PM costs $259 w/ receiver. The MT44 costs $324.
@@RazorRC maybe from the supplier you get your gear from. My MT-44 cost me more or less than US$250 when i bought it in 2019.
All I am saying is maybe you need to revisit this, the MT-S is an older radio like you mentioned and the 4PM is more inline with the MT-44 model.
@@vlozity that’s great that you paid $250 in 2019, maybe you can post where you can pay that in 2021 and that would help people with $250 in their pocket looking for a new radio.
@@RazorRC well it is an lhs in my country, not sure if they ship international... The name is "Dogbone RC". i think they are the distro here in the islands.
For me bottom line is the performance/response, the feeling of control over the car. Plastics, menus, features, bells and whistles are secondary. Forget the milliseconds statistical data. On the track you will feel the difference between a Sanwa vs a Futaba.

Sanwa is still years ahead of Futaba in the one aspect all racers care about and that's latency speed .... One is a cheetah the other a snail .... The snail being Fuuuuuutaaaaaaabaaaaaaaaa
Years ahead? They are very close. The T-FHSS SR receivers are top of class in terms of latency.

After flying drones for 7 years coming back to rc cars, these surface radios are a complete ripoff. Features, latency, software its all overpriced garbage. My $200 taranis is way better than the most expensive futaba in every way but form factor. Your videos are great btw

The screen of the futaba has a slow refresh speed. The buttons are cheap expensive looking chrome plastics. And the navigation buttons are not really handy. Futaba has also got a reputation on interference when racing with multiple futaba users. So I would have never picked the Futaba. Not a sanwa fanboy though. I got myself a graupner x8n and I'm super pleased with that one. Unfortunately it is never in american reviews.
I would like to test other brands like Ko Propo but unfortunately only like 12 people would watch them, so it just doesn't make sense for me to buy one. Even the two radios here from the biggest brands, don't really get much in the way of views.
@@RazorRC i know, and i get that. I wasn't critiquing your channel. It was just a general remark. Your reviews are mostly fine. I just wasn't agreeing with the conclusion here though. I like your different review categories like build quality and feature set and conclusion style. Keep up the good work!
