I Love Futaba, Fan boy here! I have the T16SZ and thinking of getting this T26SZ. Totally happy with the 16SZ, I can fly all my aircraft, telemetry is great and easy to set up, never had a range issue. S.Bus2 works with Powerbox products. I use the Mercury with dual Rx setup. I also have the 900Mhz add on TM-18. The new Rx R7214SB can piggy back or series connect the 900Mhz for redundancy. The 26SZ looks ok. I'm watching this video series and will make up my mind. So no text to speech function is a bit disappointing as I too want custom call outs at the field to look cool next to folks with their Radiomasters and Frskys with very arrogant and immature callouts at times😂
@@nathanli me too! I really need to try that out. I’ve not looked into it yet. I presuming wireless between two T26 will just work. I’m hoping you can buy an adapter to use wireless to another Futaba transmitter.
@@MattTakharRC I downloaded the T26 manual, it says any T-FHSS transmitter will work with T26. It is a great function. I used to find the wireless module but looks like obsolete in my areas.
Another great upload. Good luck trying to ask Futaba to do anything. Futaba, like most Japanese companies, favors conservatism instead of innovation. Futaba continues to build products that they think what the customers want, instead of the market trend and what customers really want. Something as simple as a software update requires approval through many layers of management, a prime exhibit of the Japanese corporate culture. Feedback and communication from the outside world is next to impossible. Even FutabaUSA admits that the Futaba Corporate in Japan is like a black hole in terms of communication. Don't get me wrong, I like my 12FG and 18SZ. I've been a Futaba flyer for the past two decades. It just feels like Futaba has been stagnant all these years and keeps rolling out similar products that gives me very little reason to upgrade, all the while the competition has moved on.
@@bohan9957 thanks for watching and the comment. I do know what you mean regarding Futaba. I do feel they need to play catch up and get updates out quicker.
I would buy this radio but it doesn't do FASST and I have a heap of recievers ,WTF Futaba, why not make it FASST compatible ????? I have been a loyal Futaba user for years but this is really testing me .
Many people have said the same thing its to do with EU regulations I believe. I’m going to research it properly and film an update video to talk about it. It’s on my (long) list 👍🏽
Matt, borrow a 18mz and do a comparison with the 26, I’m sure you’ll be surprised how superior the 18mz is😅 Excellent advice on range check and surface throws🎉 Futaba dropped the ball with file format! So, your mate can’t copy a model from his 16iz his bought off you that you have flown on your 26😢

Godammit…. So as well as a as grown up photo formatter, sensible file conversion software needs to be included. I think this can be patched if they wanted to, but it depends on the internal memory of the system. Memory is so cheap these days, I’d hope that they have overspeced it and future proofed for things like this. It’s not uncommon for products to be released with future updates covering additional functionality, fingers crossed on that one…. And yes, a certain reputable model shop did tell me it was backwards and forwards compatible, despite me saying I would not buy one if it wasn’t … what can you do, some you win, some you lose!
Hi, it's not really a fair comparison. A game is far more complex than a saved model. A saved model is just a single file with configuration data. The reason is doesn't work is most likely due to the T26 having more channels with configuration that needs to be saved, which would be redundant on transmitters with fewer channels. I doubt its anything to do with the OS or other parts of the hardware (except the extra channels).
Great video Matt. Thank you.
My pleasure!

Hi, am a beginner here. What alternative radio do you recommend?
Why would they make 26 ?
molto utili le tue descrizioni anche se non possiedo un Futaba oggi potrei in futuro averlo, quindi imparare non e' mai inutile grazie

When you copy the models from the 18 SZ for the new 26, do you have to rebind the models?
Hi. Yes you will need to rebind. The copy and convert process works well.

I recommend the T16IZ Super, it’s good value and has what you typically need
I have futaba 18sz and thinking of getting 32mz wc or get the 26sz
All good transmitters. I’ll be getting hold of a 32MZ shortly to compare against the 26SZ

Hi. Yes it does. I’ll take some photos tonight and post to my Facebook page for you.

My PS5 games won't play on PS4, why would you even think a newer TX model would work on an older TX, surely common sense?
