    I own sv650 and I chose it wisely. As a beginner biker in europe I had to choose among A2 motorcycles, so I was looking for a bike that I could limit to A2 and then keep it after two years when I would take the limit off. Sv650 is a keeper, there is hardly anything that could break, the engine is almost impossible to destroy, looks great, very classic, classy, definitely a long term bike for daily commutes and fun riding.

      I've bought the lams version of this motorcycle that limits to power to achieve the learner bike limits in Australia. What did you do to restrict it to A2. Is it purely the ecu limiting it or are there mechanical limits in place. Curious as I love the bike and I'll probably try to derestrict it once I'm legally allowed to.

    SV650 owner here, they really are the outstanding bargain of the bike world. I’m lucky enough to have a few newish bikes and use mine for the commute, to be honest I’ve found myself using this one bike more and more. Got mine back in covid for 6k out the door with 3 years warranty, it’s now got 18k on it and I’ve not had 1 warranty issue. All in all very pleased with it.

    I chose it for my first motorcycle after a quite long and extensive comparison between Z650, Ninja 650 and CB650R. It seems the most reasonable choice. Value for money.

    I did my driver license on a 2016 sv650, it was the first "big bike" I ever rode and it pleasantly surprised me with how easy it is to ride, much easier than some of the smaller stuff
    it looks great, relatively cheap and rides good, definitely one of the best ever Suzuki product

    SV650 was my first bike when I got back into motorcycles (rode when I was younger). It's a great bike if you're responsible enough to ride it. I particularly loved the sound of the v-twin engine.

    That low rpm assist doesn’t sound like an amazing feature but if you do a lot of filtering it makes a nice difference. It just makes your life easier after a long day when you just want to get home through congested streets.

    Better buy one soon, before Suzuki stops making this wonderful engine. Seen one with 240K miles on it. These are expensive engines to produce. Before Suzuki upgrades anything, they'll drop it altogether. The new Vstrom will have a parallel twin and so will the SV's replacement. So sad...

    I got a 2017 as a second bike after learning on DRZ 400S for 2 months. I love it. Probably keep it for a few years and then get a 4 cylinder. Just don't do wheelie it will starve the front cylinder of oil and it will break.

    Since 2019 the front brakes have been upgraded to 4 piston calipers, on the old ones the TOKICO logo is the same black color as the rest of the caliper. Another major point for this bike is the slip on silencer which can be swapped for a louder one(still homologated) for as low as 300 €/$/£ without the need to flash the ECU, all the other bikes in this class have one piece exhaust systems which cost over 1000 €/$/£ and require flashing.

    • @ryanthailand
      @ryanthailand ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not true. I've got 2021 CB650R and you can buy a MIVV exhaust full system off eBay for £350 and it doesn't require tuning.

    • @antonholovnitskyy779
      @antonholovnitskyy779 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ryanthailand I'm talking about new, genuine and homologated products. For a full system(downpipes, catalytic converter, muffler and db killer) to be so affordable is a) It's used b) It's a knock off c) It has no catalytic converter(i.e. illegal), Whatever the case might be, bikes that don't retain the stock cat HAVE to be flashed. Lowering the back pressure in an engine that is already very lean due to emission regulation will make it run even leaner and hotter, why would you risk it in a £7500 bike. Besides CB650R has the least ugly stock exhaust.

    SV650X owner here, be forewarned that the ergos are absolute trash. They took the exact same rider triangle as far as seat and pegs go, and just put on clip ons that have you crunched super far forward. Since the legs are meant to be for a more upright riding position, you will absolutely feel cramped regardless of how short you are (I'm 5'6" with 29 inch inseam and it feems cramped). Strongly recommend a _long_ test ride to make sure it's something you can live with, because even bikes with a "sportier" riding position are likely more ergonomic than what these guys ended up doing with the X.
