@@jaylinroberts2526 check just behind and under the air filter intake tube.(from air filter box to throttle body) see if the thermostat housing is leaking. That is a common leak point.
@SMAutoRepairLLC There's no top leak, to the thermostat, housing, or hoses.. I'm hoping not but is it possible it's leaking into my transmission? Could my radiator and or transmission be cracked causing coolant to leak through and or around my transmission, cause that's where I see coolant.
Getting mine done now. Ford quoted $2500. A shop I've been to before for other maintenance quoted $16-1700. It's not at Ford....edit: currently at 78.5k miles and was leaking droplets while running....not going to let it get any worse
Mine is leaking from the back. They replaced the intake manifold gasket, but kept leaking and overheating. Now they’re saying it’s the timing cover? Should I be concerned about more repairs after this?
Hey thanks for reaching out. So the issue isn't the timing cover its the water pump. The water pump is designed with multiple seals, if the first seal fails it will allow coolant to leak through a weep hole and out of the timing cover(likely what your experiencing) If the second seal on the water pump fails it will actually allow coolant to enter the engine and will mix the oil. To have this repaired properly it will require the water pump and gasket to be replaced along with all other necessary gaskets like the intake plenum gasket, valve cover gaskets and gasket maker for the timing cover since these items will be removed during service. The only additional repairs that may be need depending on wear and mileage would be some of the timing components like the chain tensioner and guides. I hope this helps.
