    I'm strictly a Chevy guy but when this car came out it was something about it my wife told me let's go look at it cause I talked about it a lot so one thing led to another and I drove out in my PLUM CRAZY PURPLE HELL CAT

    After driving a Red Challenger R/T for several years I can tell you that when you get on the highway you will feel like Moses parting the seas. People just get the F&*k out of your way when they see a Challenger coming up their ass. I might have a video of it somewhere.

    It's an awesome machine, but, after driving one, it's really not too usable in terms of driving that power. All said and done, I had a LOT more fun in the SRT 392 simply because it was easier to put the actual power down.
    You'll be hard-pressed (or even find it impossible) to get the 0-60 times and 1/4-mile times Dodge claims, just because you can't get the wheels to grab the pavement.
    I also drove manuals of both cars, and that's definitely the way to go. That 8-speed is a great auto, but it's a waste in a car like this.

    • @carbuzzcom
      @carbuzzcom  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I couldn't agree more regarding the SRT 392. I don't think the 8-speed is a waste here, it just needs better calibration, especially in downshifts.

      @theoobbard7559 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a 392 SRT with the 6 speed. Haven't had a chance to drive a hellcat or the 8 speed yet but I feel like with 707 hp I would want the auto right? I'd think it would be too much work to manage that in a manual.

    Dodge has always been notorious for under-rating their HP. Hellcats have been tested to be much more than 707.

    • @carbuzzcom
      @carbuzzcom  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      BMW is also known to under rate.

    • @williamdouglass7864
      @williamdouglass7864 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      OddTimeMan what planet did you come from because you are an idiot. Chrysler's were known for over rating your horsepower is all the way back to the 426 Hemi rated at 4:25 and every one of them put out 500 and the same thing for the Hellcat it's actually rated at 7:07 but actually puts out more you are an idiot

    They should've shortened the cabin to a two seater and saved the curb weight.

      @CarBuzz and it's owned by a European company so it's not an American manufacturer car.

    What about the dealership mark up price? I've seen some that go up to $80,000 or more.

    • @carbuzzcom
      @carbuzzcom  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Every dealership is different, but now that FCA has sorted out Hellcat production markups should (hopefully) be less often.

    • @robertbrody4032
      @robertbrody4032 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I paid a bit under MSRP. Yes, some dealers are still marking up. Just avoid them and buy elsewhere. Good dealers are out there.
