I own this car in white, and it's a beast. More than enough power for the street, and it roars like a lion under load. That said, I could not, in good conscious, justify the purchase of a Hellcat or Demon. No way.
Old comment but the demon is definitely not worth it. They did a drag test on it and the car can't handle the demon mode horsepower boost. The rear axle literally crumbles. Also Demon mode needs to be unlocked and even if hypothetically the car didn't crumble under the pressure of the horsepower where other than a racetrack would you even use it? The SRT is more than enough. I feel like the Hellcat and Demon were created just so dudes with too much money could brag they got a Hellcat or Demon.

The same could be said for just about anything, but for the money there is nothing else like them that has ever been produced and are by far the best bang for the buck. Especially when you compare them to anyting that produces similar performance numbers, and really stand alone by themselves. I'm not a sedan guy at all, but the h-cat charger is the quickest production 4 door ever made and the demon is an engineering marvel that also stands alone

Ive owned a 2016 SRT since May of 2016. Absolutely fun car and I will never sell it.. pure American muscle.

willburr13 I got the manual, the auto usually has all the issues. The 2.4 is better than I thought too. Just take care of it.

13:40-13:55 is the number one reason I'd choose this over the competition! Track performance is good and all, but I believe practicality is more important! And Dodge gives you that along with big power!

Currently, have an SXT (which I really love) but I REALLY want the 392. I was 18 when I got it and I just wanted a Challenger, but now I'm 21 and I need more POWER.
I bought by sxt in 2012 for the same reason was 21 so insurance was too high for a v8.

Nicholas Id use it why not. Ever drive cross country? It gets expensive if you drive stupid fast the whole way. Why not save some gas somewhere on the highway and still have the performance when you want to have some fun.
Nicholas, first chance you get go drive one. Turn off track control, put it in track mode, & you'll forget all about that eco mode crap..#TrustMe

If i had to choose this 392 or the hellcat. i would choose this, because hellcat is too overpowered. This car has the right amount of horsepower for a sportscar. Go ahead, bash me now.
HoudBla, just use the back key in the Hellcat, & you literally have the same power numbers as a 392, & when you want the extra 200+hp just use the red key.
Honestly the Hellcat is the best of both worlds.

If I ever buy a Dodge Challenger, I am keeping it until I am an old man, 392 are awesome highly reliable, easily put 200k to 300k miles on these vehicles with proper care. People saying they are unreliable on youtube is just clickbait FCA vehicles are reliable if you care for them.
My girlfriend she wants to get a Dodge Challenger RT 392 this year. She is a big Dodge and Moper girl. She drives a 2008 Dodge avenger SXT. But her dream is to have a Dodge Challenger RT 392. She told me that is her gold to get this year.

im in atlanta and i did a cargurus search from 100 miles and not one silver 392 that matches this one came up. i love the silver exterior with that rim and tire package. i even did a nationwide search. still nothing. if a dealer in ga sees this plz comment. 2015 to 2016. thanks

Love the SRT Challenger to death, but I do wish they would had a performance-oriented Penestar V6 model with some of the key attributes of the SRT variants like suspension, power, etc.

Whats the difference between RT scat pack and Srt 392
The scat has the 5.7 liter hemi and the srt 392 has the 6.4 liter, plus the street/sport/track adjustable wizardry, the 392 shares the hellcat's upgraded suspension, brakes,tire/rim size and other goodies. . The scat is an RT with appearance upgrades. The SRT is a hellcat without the blower on it. I pick up my 2018 SRT in 5 days !

This is a GREAT LOOKING car. With a 392 straight line performance is as good as a Mustang GT or Chevy Camaro SS (Forget the 5.7 RT it's just not in the same league)........but you have to clearly understand what you want from your choice of the 3. I just got out of a 2014 Mustang GT for a 2018 TA 392.......the acceleration is nearly identical...the Challenger needs every one of it's 65 extra HP to match the 420 in the old car. What tipped it for me was this absolutely beautiful design. The Challenger vs Mustang vs Camaro 3 way beauty contest isn't a contest IMO. While I liked my S197 Mustang the new S550 still leaves me COLD even after enough time to get used to it and the Camaro has been DOG UGLY since reintroduction in 2009 and its only gotten worse over time. That's my opinion.......YMMV. The only real draw back to the Dodge is that beauty is it costs a lot more to make sure you get similar performance in a Dodge. You need the 392 and the brembos at all 4 corners. If you like nimble in the corners.....you're back to a Mustang or Camaro. This car is too big and too heavy to keep up in the corners.....it's competent but never feels as fast or capable on a winding road. But if that were my BIG PRIORITY......I'd be in a Corvette.

Don't know if you have done a review on the new 2017 RT Charger or Challenger but the exhaust sounds so much better on the 2017 RT's. Almost like the 392's.

This baby Justin Bouche deletes your comments when he knows he lost. And I'm commenting here so he can't delete it this time... The camaro and mustang are now closer to "sport cars" then muscle cars. The only true muscle car left is the challenger and it serves that purpose extremely well!! It was never designed to be a track car or even marketed that way. It's a straight line drag car. That you can still have some fun on back roads with. But the chassis is old and heavy so of course it will have a harder time on a track when it's not designed to be there.
