Fun fact: this song is one of the main themes of the game Alan Wake (produced by Remedy Entertainment) and the band is featured as a cameo in a cutsene along with the main character in the video who also portrays the protagonist in the game, and is the second song that they wrote for a game. The first was 'Late Goodbye' for the game Max Payne 2 (also by Remedy), the singer (Marko) and the creative director of Remedy (Sam) are friends and when the band had just formed Marko asked if they needed a song for the game and Sam said yes, so he wrote 'Late Goodbye' and the song was so well received that they became famous before releasing their first album.

The singer, Marko Saaresto, writes the lyrics!

Carnival Of Rust, Lift, and Late Goodbye are generally said to be their best songs. They must play them at every gig, and the crowed always goes wild.

Temple of thought (the unplugged studio live) is beautiful, would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Been trying to make Poets Of The Fall blow up,since theyr first ever song totally blew me away in 2003. ("Late Goodbye") So it is refreshing to see people giving them some PR on YT :))) I often say they are in the same "sound" as U2,INXS,even Def Leppard and some of the other rock-pop bands out there. But Poets Of The Fall never does "the same album" twice, they allways change up theyr material. They can be very uptempo throughout a song,or be very melodic.

I'm finding that out. And they're better than the other acts you mentioned, which might be part of the problem. I think Bono is actively trying to hinder them, because, well, he's a pos.

I've heard their genre being referred as blockbuster-rock. Lot of operatic movie-soundtrack feel. Also about their vocabulary: Finland is too small of a country/market to have dubbing in anything but kids' cartoons, so we have seen subtitles our whole lives. That's why everyone here knows English. I've even heard that one of America's national Spelling Bee champions in the 90's was a Finnish foreign exchange student.

I believe that spelling bee story 100%,lol. I think the only reason most American children can spell their own names is because their parents spelled it wrong on the birth certificate. Which as a novelist, makes me very sad.

You gotta play Alan Wake to understand the entire plot of the music video. God damn it's great.

I'm pretty positive that you would also love Finnish Ghost Brigade's song "Grain" 🤗. From POTF "Where do we draw the line" is good one too - lyrics are pretty mind blowing 🙂. From bit heavier side, check out Finnish oldie Norther "Everything", "Nothing" and "Frozen Angel" 🙂🤘

There is this insanely wonderfull Finnish comic Belzebubs. Author and few extremely talented musicians decided to put up a music project based on the comic. You should check their music videos, Blackened call and Cathedrals of mourning. One more Finnish band you wont hate.

I'm looking for Finnish bands I will hate, or more specifically suck, because I don't think Finland has a metal band that isn't good.

@@mikamiettinen3848 That's true, we get the bands that rise to the top generally, whether from sales or from word of mouth(more often this) but I've never been one to not dig deep into metal scenes on my own. I've been playing with the idea of doing a top ten metal countries video, and Finland is definitely number one. U.S., probably doesn't even crack top 10, lol.

@@ocbreactions7843 I think the biggest obstacle for U.S. bands to rise is commercial radio. Yes, the radio. Still in this digitilized world, commercial radios do play a major part in music industry. Pop and rap are too popular even here, in the land of metal. And next one don't get me wrong, new American metal bands are bit dull, however, I love the old skool stuff, like bay area thrash and so, but all the emo stuff and "screamo" are bs for me. Oh, almost forgot to praise those wonderfull southern stoner and sludge bands, I just love that shit.

Ooooo. I just love Battle Beast. Mostly because of Noora's vocals, but I don't find their music unlikeable either.
