Great to see an old laser go back on the water again!! Mine is from 1979... Also i envy you guys in america that have those coloured lasers, while here in europe we only have white ones
Thanks Marcot2011 and yes completely agree, we need more color in our lives. I miss the colorful sails as well, wish they would bring them both back in a special additional of sorts! Thanks for watching.
I found an orange one from the 1970's last year. In the 21,000 range sail number. When I was in high school, I had a lime green one 3 digit number, and my Dad had a yellow one, 4 digit number. Among the earliest Lasers sold. Bought mine with paper route money. $900 new.
It took several weeks due to the fiberglass work that was needed and waiting on various stages to dry but after everything was completed it cost another $1,500.🤑 Thanks for watching and good luck with your project, we hope it goes smoothly.
Thank you. A little bit of elbow grease goes a long way and can save you a lot of money. You never know with these old boats so it's a bit of a gamble but when it pays off it feels great! Thank you for watching.🤗
I feel you. I did the same. Mines from 1980’s. It’s the green color and is a very competitive boat. Gets good results
Very nice, isnt it amazing these boats really hold there value if well kept. Thanks for watching!
😅😢❤😂
Great work and good video! (Just a note, 5200 seems like overkill for all of the sealing. It will never come off.)
It does come off but yes your right 4200 and other options are available. She is sailing all over the US right now and so far no leaks.
that's awesome! Love the videos btw

Wow, these boats have the best history and stories, thanks for sharing!
Great job and a very enjoyable video. How much did you pay for the new parts and how long did it take you?

where did you get your deck / hull parts kits? just bought an old one with rec rigging and got it on the water but wouldn't mind an upgraded vang!
I ordered everything from Westcoast Sailing. Free shipping on orders over 50.00. Great customer service and parts.
How much in total for the restoration? Hull was cheap but it was missing a lot of stuff.
Great question. I would say another 1,500 for professional fiberglass work and additional parts. She is sailing great, stiff as a rock, for now.🧐
Good job. Good price😂
Thanks appreciate that, rare find for sure! 😅 Not too shabby! Another mans trash...
