What a great reaction! Amelia isn't one of those reactors that talks constantly throughout, but she doesn't have to- she clearly conveys what's going on with her facial expressions (and especially micro expressions)! Wow! Loved it!
Yeah, dont you just hate it when a reactor will turn towards the camera and want to start telling you some childhood story or something while great scenes and famous lines and great bits of comedy and all are just flying by unnoticed. I have to laugh, some of them can be quite ridiculous.
@Lethgar_Smith Exactly. Letting us know how clever they are, blabbering away and missing beautifully crafted dialog. Then, a minute later, asking: why did he do that? or what are they doing that for? When it's all been laid out for them, but they were too busy rambling on about some totally irrelevant thing that once happened to them. They don't know how to watch a film. Very low IQ. I appreciate the attention being paid here.
you dont need talk alot to be a good reactor - infact alot of reactors talk constantly and give away they have seen the movie and it ruins the experince
Yea, for me no way I'd want to watch all the great movies. ( insert your selection ) and talk thru them , maybe even on a laptop... just destroy the film experience to me.
When this movie came out, the alien in the chair, no one had ever seen anything like that before. H.R Geiger, the creator of the Alien, the ship, and all the concepts, became world famous after that. His Album Covers are also easily recognizable.
I am a film maker and camera person and I say you are correct about the old practical camera moves. They are more organic and feel more natural to the eye and to the mind when trying to process a story visualy. Rock on. Cheers.
Fun movie fact - actor John Hurt (who plays Kane) spoofed his role from this movie later on in the Mel Brooks comedy film 'SPACEBALLS' (1987)...and they even poked fun at the alien in it as well....Now that fun comedy is definitely worth watching if you have seen it...
What a fun fact! Also, Sigourney Weaver was late for her audition and had to run to a different hotel. But when she walked into the room, Ridley Scott said she was Ripley!
The guy who played the Alien was a guy called Bolaji Badejo. He was a 6 feet ,10 inch tall design student who was spotted in a London pub, and cast in the role.
It was not only his hight... Also he was choosed because i looked creepy skinny - because he was indeed very thin. The director, and i think also H.R. Giger thought he would add to that creepy looking because of that stick-like arms and legs. And he didnt dissapoint.
One detail I like to point out is at the end when she is listing the crew dead in memoriam, she includes Ash. It seems odd as it tried to kill her but makes perfect sense that indicates she doesn't want the company to know she was on to Ash. It definitely points to the company (or at least a part of it) is criminal.
This is by far one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. It sends chills down your spine. The acting and the storyline was spot on! It can have you jumping at shadows!
Great reaction! And thank you for not calling the crew stupid. So many reactors do. These were smart people forced to do something beyond their usual skillset. They did it the best they could, bad things happened, and they kept making good decisions all through the movie. Except for Lambert panicking all the time and eventually getting Dallas killed. But 1 person out of 6 panicking in a situation like this is kind of more realistic, not less. And of course Ash was working against them all along. The fact that they did NOT do stupid things is a great part of why this movie is so good. Any talentless writer can make a monster or a psycho kill a bunch of stupid people making bad decisions. It is much harder to kill a bunch of smart people mostly making good decisions - but when you write that, people still watch and like it 45 years later.
Their mistake (and it's a huge one) was ignoring Ripley's authority when it came to quarantine procedures. ETA: Agree that Ash's actions pretty much screwed them.
@@SoonLeeNZ No mistakes were made. Ripley quoted the quarantine procedures. Dallas told her to open the door so he could try to save his friend's life. A reasonable thing; I'd risk a lot for my friends too. But she overruled him which was also reasonable and followed regulations. Then the robot who was there all along to get the alien organism on board did exactly what he was programmed to do. He didn't make a mistake; he did it purposely to follow his directive. But that's my point. The 6 humans all made the best decisions they could, and everything they did was smart rather than stupid. They were sabotaged by the robot, and Lambert got panicky, but without those things, Dallas' plan might have worked and they might have blown it out the airlock and got home safely. Well, it was too late for Kane and Brett, but the rest might have made it.
I really appreciate your message. I'm a movie fanatic... A lot of reactions are from people who don't respect the movie or the story theme or the year of creation... Their responses are very immature so I agree with you.
Well said. Also, just to add one more thing onto it, these are space jockeys in the far future and may not be "horror movie smart," as would be everyone who has seen a lot of horror movies and who know the tropes.
Great reaction Amelia! This is the first time I have watched you on this channel, and I have to say, you are fun to watch! You're the perfect reactor because you're focused on the film and not talking throughout, which I notice some reactors who talk too much, miss a lot of dialogue and fine details of the movie. So it was great watching you enjoy and absorb the details of the movie and characters! Good job, and I'm definitely looking forward to check out more of your reactions! 🎥🍿👍
Love watching her reactions! Besides pretty, she shows so much emotion, happy, fear, and is totally in to her reaction and u can tell its like she really believes everything she's watching, is happening!
I saw this movie in 1979 in a cinema, on the big screen, in the dark, with full Dolby stereo. It was total immersion and total suspence. Seeing it on TV just doesn't do it justice. It gave me the creeps for months. You've done a great review.
Everything about Alien is iconic. The grittiness of the Nostromo (a working space tanker), the crashed alien space vessel, the three-stage alien design. The realism of the crew working the ship; of people living and working in space. It is one of the greatest suspense thrillers ever made and this level of realism is a key component of the whole experience of the film, imho. Just as 2001 revolutionized science fiction as a genre, and Star Wars made science fiction (space opera) bankable, Alien paved the way for science fiction as a truly credible artistic and cinematic experience in the minds of cinema audiences. Without Alien, there is no Bladerunner, The Thing, Terminator, Predator ... no science fiction as we know it today.
Fun fact: Veronica Cartwright’s (Lambert) reaction during the chest buster scene was completely real. She hadn’t seen anything before hand and was hit with the largest amount of blood. Tom Skerrit was the only actor that had an idea of what to expect has he had seen some setup of the scene.
That is a myth. The entire cast knew about the alien bursting out of Kane's body. They even rehearsed the scene with the puppeteers. The only surprise was the large amount of blood that came spurting out. That surprised Cartwright.
@@JohnMartin-oh6bf .... I'm not wrong about that. The cast rehearsed the scene with the puppeteers operating the alien. What part of that do you not understand?
Amelia is the best on the two channels. As stated, no overacting I mean reacting, looking, listening, conveying her emotions thru her eyes and facial expressions. Certainly will continue to watch. A genuine pleasure. Thanks for sharing.
Great reaction, one of the best reactions to "Alien." I was afraid, however, that poor Amelia was going to hyperventilate a few times and pass out, or have a nervous breakdown! I have seen these movie dozens of times and the suspense is still nail-biting.
Thanks for your reaction. Me and my cool dad went to see the film in 1979 when I was in high school. During the showing, someone screamed, "The cat ate the alien!". Excellent movie and performances. I highly recommend the sequel "Aliens". It's excellent as well and with the tone of an action film.
Yes, see Aliens the 2nd movie. And seek out the director's extended version. Both versions are great, but the added scenes are great and develop the characters more.Well worth the extra running time. Like this video and am looking forward to more. Enjoy.
Who in their right mind goes back for the ship's cat when an eight-foot acid-for-blood alien is hunting you down. The best Truckers in space film made.
16:00 the scene in the cafeteria was actually alot more bloody and gruesome that test audiences started throwing up, so they had to tone it down for the final cut lol
Great reaction Amelia! Your face did more than words could have to let us know exactly how you were feeling, and it was awesome! In the world of sci-fi in my lifetime (and I turn 56 this year), our first badass female lead was the erstwhile Princess Leia. She could fight, lead, and get stuff done when it needed doing. Princess or not, she was determined to be whatever kind of warrior was needed. Then came Ripley. Starting from third officer on the Nostromo, she ended up being not just a superior badass, but possibly the most superior badass in a close race. Ellen Ripley wasn't just the lucky female survivor in yet another horror movie (a common and dull trope of the era), she was a woman who fought hard to earn her survival in the most tense and intense horror movie I've ever seen, and one of only two horror movies I ever thought was good enough to watch more than once. The final chapter of this saga, Aliens, is even better on so many levels and I can't recommend it enough.
31:55 "I wouldn't let that drip onto you. You don't know what it is." No, YOU don't know what it is. HE does. Brett is the ship's mechanic. He knows every inch of the ship, how everything works, how to keep everything running and working, and how to fix anything that breaks. He knows that there are things on this ship that could kill him in a heartbeat, he knows what they are, and he stays safe with those. He also knows where this water comes from and the fact that he's willing to let it drip on him and even to drink it means he knows it's safe, clean, and harmless.
I was just a kid when this movie came out and I made it my life's quest to try and see it as soon as possible. I learned about it after someone had brought the paperback with them when we went camping in the mountains. My mom would read it aloud by campfire. Scared the bejeezus out of me! To date it is still my second favorite sci-fi movie of all time as well as my second favorite horror movie. Way ahead of its time!
12:04 - "The fact that it's just stuck to him like that." - It's called a Face Hugger, for obvious reasons. 16:50 - "Oh my god!" - That one's called a Chest Burster. BTW, there's a persistent myth that the rest of the cast didn't know what was going to happen. This ignores the reality that it would be impossible to setup and film a scene like this if the rest of the cast didn't know what was going to happen. There's a deleted scene showing how the alien reproduced. After activating the self-destruct, Ripley climbs down a ladder and finds the captain and Brett (first guy taken) encased in cocoons, being transformed into eggs. The captain is still semi-conscious, but Brett hardly looks human anymore. Below his face, you can see the flaps of an alien egg forming. The captain begs Ripley to kill him and she torches the whole room. That was going to be the alien's life cycle until the scene was cut. As such, it's not canon, and James Cameron went in a different direction for the sequel, Aliens. Things to watch for on a second viewing: Ash tries to dissuade Ripley from going out and warning the others that the signal might be a warning, because he wants them to find the alien. When they're looking for the face hugger after it comes off Kane, it always looked to me like Ash knew where it was and poked it with the flashlight to make it fall on Ripley. When Ripley first enters the escape shuttle at the end of the movie, you can spot the alien's head among the pipes on the right side of the screen. If you watch the sequel, please watch the extended version.
There's an official directors cut that does the egg scene and also a different scene of the crew in the corridor when Kane first arrived at the medical bay. As Sigourney Weaver walks down the corridor to the others, Veronica Cartwright swears at her and slaps her across the face. Now, there had been multiple takes of the "slap," so Sigourney was expecting it. However, Ridley Scott wanted surprise, so he asked Veronica to actually slap Sigourney across the face. In order to keep the crew on edge, he secretly got the production crew to reduce the width of the ship corridors every day.
I have always believed that Ash deliberately used the probe to push the face hugger onto Ripley also. I’m surprised more people don’t acknowledge that in their reactions.
10:13 : The 'blue haze' is created by using The Who's laser light show. They were testing it out on the sound stage next door at Shepperton studios and Ridley Scott thought it would be cool to borrow it.
Thanks for getting creeped out for us watching "Alien." Along with "Aliens", both are must-watch for reaction channels, however. edit add: a locat theater sometimes will show these classics as a double-feature, a great treat on the big screen
If you want more Jones the cat, there is a short graphic novel (more like a graphic novella) named "Josney: Nine Lives on the Nostromo." It tells the story of "Alien" from the cat's perspective.
You´re the best movie reactor I´ve seen in a long time. You´re keeping your mouth shut during the film and really got into it. Well done. Just keep it that way 😍
Hi Amelia, it's great you've seen this sci-fi classic and that it had the desired effect on you. Please react to it's incredible sequel Aliens (1986) next :)
Huge cultural phenomena at the time. My dad took me, mom passed. I think it was my second rated-R film. Packed theater, popcorn flying at the jump scares, people yelling things at the screen. The audience had never seen anything like it compared to the aliens in Close Encounters, Star Wars and 2001. Totally different. "Jaws in space" as it was apparently described in development.
8:57 A trick they did to make the sets look bigger is using kids to play smaller versions of the Nostromo crew. They dressed the kids in scaled down spacesuits and it is very effective.
Fun Fact about the sets for Alien: If you point the camera at the ceiling on the starship Enterprise, you'll see stage lights. On the starship Nostromo you see a ceiling. None of the Nostromo sets are open topped or open sided. They were designed that way to make it more claustrophobic. It made it challenging to light and shoot some of the scenes- In the air vent scene, the tracks for the camera rig are clearly visible, but they look like part of the set, so they rolled with it.
Just a note about "keeping cats in space", "smoking in space", et. cetera: It's possible that they wanted to convey the notion that humanity was so comfortable with space travel that these issues were now no longer an issue. In other words, the notion of "truckers in space" would be so commonplace as to not warrant questioning.
@@meliakelle I think they did make a spin-off where Jones was the star..But he had to beef-up for the role - I can't remember the name of it ...... Oh that's right - Garfield.
Nice reaction. I saw this film when it was first released in the UK, when it had an X-certificate (when the rating system was revised a few years, the rating for an adult film became 18, a very recent example of an 18 film in the UK is "Poor Things"). Nobody had ever seen anything like it before, including the gore of the chest burster scene. The production design crew (including the model makers) did a fantastic job, and the fact that it was all practical means that it has aged very well indeed, when compared to more modern films that use a lot of CGI.
Awesome reaction! When this came out people screams and ran out of the theatre at the point, and more than one young man tried to hide behind his girlfriend. Jones is the ship's cat, he's part of the crew. Mice survive and it's have a cat or vent the ship to space before every landing. As for the magazine, it's a very effective way to choke someone without leaving external marks. But it's not a story of a "woman and her cat"- Ripley was written no gender in mind and men and women both auditioned for the role. Same for most of the crew.
Excellent reaction to one of the giants of sci-fi horror. Now, you must watch _Aliens._ It is, no exaggeration, one of the best sequels ever made. If you do watch _Alien_ again, keep an eye on Ash. Watch how he subtly manipulates the crew to do what he and the company want them to do. Dallas may be the captain, but Ash is in charge all along. Ripley is the wild card Ash can't predict, and it saves her.
I could see your anxiety level taking off😂 Don't worry it's a pretty normal reaction for ALIEN. I can't WAIT for you to do a react for ALIENS (My absolute favorite in the series)
Now you have to watch Aliens, one of the best sequels ever made. Make sure you watch the Directors cut/Enhanced version for the complete experience. It does make a big difference. It is a less scary movie, but is action packed. Directed by one of the best James Cameron. Do not watch Alien 3 or the rest, they were just money grabs and didn't follow any of the story line involved with Aliens and just went off the deep end.
1:55 The way the letters in the title appear a piece at a time was made to look like hashtags ## like when you are tallying up (or crossing off) a total- the first seven vertical and diagonal lines in the word ALIEN represent the seven crew members.
Great reaction to watch and I am glad you seemed to enjoy this movie. At one point you said you were wondering what they are doing with a cat in space and smoking cigarettes in space and I am so glad you mentioned that. It may not necessarily be world building in this movie (I can not remember this particular detail), but in a lot of science fiction movies and shows they set up space travel as something that uses up limited resources and then they show pets in space, smoking and alcohol in abundance. I know it is probably a pet peeve of mine but things like that can ruin the immersion for me. Aliens is a worthy sequel to this movie and a must see in my opinion if you liked this one.
Such a classic this movie is. Happy that you're reacting to it Amelia. Definitely check out the sequel 'Aliens' (1986) directed by James (The Terminator 1 & 2, Avatar 1 & 2, Titanic, The Abyss, True Lies) Cameron 😉 . You may enjoy that next sequel every bit as this one...
Ripley is one of the great film heroes-male or female-but definitely the first to spring to mind when you think of badass female protagonists. I can’t wait to see the reaction to the next one. Aliens always shows up on lists of sequels even better than the original.
"It's got a great defense mechanism. You don't dare kill it." Classic sci-fi horror. The tension is so thick, you will need a sharp steak knife in order to cut it. The voice of "Mother" is so iconic, in my honest opinion. There's something unnerving about a cold feminine voice counting down to your death. It wasn't until GLaDOS that we rediscovered that a computerized female voice can be absolutely creepy. Fun Fact: In H.R. Giger's original illustrations that inspired the look of the Alien, the creature had eyes. For the movie, Giger insisted that the creature have no eyes, thus giving the bleak appearance of a cold and emotionless beast that hunts by smell. Real Guts Fact: The dead facehugger that Ash (Ian Holm) autopsies was made using fresh shellfish, four oysters, and a sheep kidney to re-create the internal organs. Filming had to be done quickly because the organic material would go bad very fast under the studio lights. Bloody Solution Fact: It was conceptual artist Ron Cobb who came up with the idea that the Alien should bleed acid. This came about when Dan O'Bannon ran into a wall with the screenplay on how to handle the last half of the movie. He needed a good reason for why the crew members don't just shoot the thing and kill it but still not make it an indestructible monster that can't be killed. The acid blood was the idea that solved this problem.
Please do Aliens. It is a very good sequel that has more action, But it is impossible to fight those things whiteout some horror . This Sci-Fi horror Introduced us to one of the monsters of it's kind. Alien was indeed a horror movie that set the way for the second on in 1986. Ripley was scared as hell, but it didn't paralyze her like it did Lambert. None of the crew was pre[ared for anything like this. .
20:24 "Slime is always associated with ghosts and aliens." And hagfish. And mastiffs. And brachiosauruses (see Jurassic Park). And Mattel Toys who marketed "Slime" as a kid's toy in 1976.
LAMBERT was put in movie to reflect what the audience would be feeling during the movie. I would suggest watching Aliens next, and watching it with the LIGHTS OFF, for the full effect.
Great reaction Amelia. And who could blame you. That movie got me all disheveled! Theres a lot of great movies starring Sigourney. Fun fact... I cant disclose any. 😒
Great reaction Amelia like aleways i love this movie, this movie from the legendary Ridley Scott start a all franchise of Space Horror, and there are some Fun-facts about it: The character played by Sigourney Weaver was written for a male character, O’Bannon and Shusett wrote the entire cast as men, but they left a note in the screenplay that “the crew is unisex and all parts are interchangeable for men or women.” Shusett admits they never dreamed of the lead being a woman, though. The producers made that call, believing a female Ripley would be more unique but also more palatable to their bankrollers. The actors were genuinely shocked by the chestburster scene for the iconic scene where a chestburster shoots out of John Hurt’s torso, Scott wanted the best possible reaction from his cast. So he deliberately kept details hidden from all the actors, aside from Hurt. They knew a creature would emerge, they had seen the puppet, and they were more than a little suspicious of the raincoats they’d been given. Remember that weird white goo that seeps out of Ash’s android head when he’s decapitated? Scott’s crew made that from a combination of milk, caviar, pasta, and glass marbles. It was especially unfortunate for the Holm, who hated milk. Keep up the amazing work.
Amelia, your reaction and observation to the visuals of Alien is due to the work of legendary artists. As an illustrator I was aware of some of them and their work before I saw the movie. Artist Ron Cobb (RIP) designed the Nostromo, the exterior and the interiors. He designed many of the Cantina aliens in Star Wars. French artist Jean Giraud (RIP), better known as Moebius, the spacesuits had his signature look. A big fan of his work in the magazine Heavy Metal. For the Alien and its environs, Swiss artist H.R. Giger (RIP) is the man to ‘blame’. Though I very much appreciate his otherworldly talent, I do not have the courage or stomach to immerse myself in his works. But his work on Alien is a tour de force masterpiece. Cobb’s, Moebius’, and Giger’s art live on with Alien. As for Jonesy the cat. Since ancient times it was considered wise to have cats on ships. By hunting vermins cats kept the crews free from disease. I guess it’s tradition to bring a cat on a space ‘ship’. Jonesy was just outmatched by the ‘vermin’ they let inside the ship….
Haha Amelia! A lady after my own heart. I'm never more relaxed than when I'm in a small confined area. So many people seem claustrophobic, but I guess we're the opposite... Claustrophiliac?
@@popcornroulettereactions You're welcome, I truly enjoyed your reaction. You showed real anxiety. I hope to get into making these myself with my Fiancée.
18:20 "Why is there a cat in space? Also "Why are they smoking cigarettes in space?" Same reason, at least partially. Relaxing the crew. It's the same reason that airplanes on Earth used to allow people to smoke: keeps them calm, or worse, smokers who are told they cannot smoke for hours at a time often get anxious, and since flying causes some people to be anxious enough, airlines thought letting the smokers smoke would help keep the whole flight calmer. It wasn't until 9 years after this movie was made that airlines in the US banned smoking in the airplane. Even California didn't ban indoor smoking until 1995. What about polluting the air? Even non-smokes pollute self-contained air with just their CO2 that they exhale. Air on the ship must be filtered ("scrubbed") to keep it clean and fresh. Taking out a little smoke at the same time is easy. Yeah, that means changing the filters a bit more often, say, 9 times a year instead of 8, but the benefits of a relaxed crew are worth a bit more cost - and the company probably sells them the cigarettes at a profit anyway. The cat is there as an emotional support animal for the crew, but also to catch rats. Why are there rats in space? Rats go everywhere humans go - they sneak into things and find a way to get everywhere.
Ellen Ripley (Alien) is one of the 2 names that usually pop out immediately when you ask people who've seen these older movies to name who is the greatest female bada** character in movies. 😉
Great reaction. If you watch the sequel, please watch the special edition cut. It adds some really good context and is the better version. The sequel is fabulous by the way.
I've known two young women in their 20's ( a client ) and 30's ( a friend of my daughter ) who said Alien had a major role in their decision not to have children. The body horror seen in the movie attached to their idea of pregnancy. It's been fifteen years now and they never did have children.
In answer to your question about having the cat in space, traditionally most ships (like the kind on water, I mean) had problems with rats and mice, so they kept cats on board to help with that. Either spaceships have the same problem, or they keep a cat out of tradition, or maybe they just like cats.
A fun fact about this movie is that in the dinner scene when the alien does the first jump scare, the actors, with the exception of the one with the alien, didn't know what was going to happen so the scare was genuine, including the woman with short hair fainting when the ketchup flew in her face.
They were aware. They had read the script and knew there were puppet operators under the table. They also knew Kane had been set into the table with a fake torso. They were taken by surprise by the violent gush and spray of blood during the chest burst. Lambert didn't faint - she tripped over her feet reacting to the violent spray of blood.
Lambert (other female) really wasn't acting much at the dining table - the actress wasn't told about the blood and alien popping out. Jump scare indeed...
45 years later and that face hugger puppet is still one of the greatest, most convincing, practical effects ever.

@@blakewalker84120 Well not everything they did was smart - I saw Lambert smoking.
The Thing? Really? The Thing is a remake of the 1951, The Thing From Outer Space. I can't see where alien influenced this.
@@Stogie2112The blood was real blood from a cow or a pig.
And that was disgusting.
@@Stogie2112no,that isn’t true they didn’t know how it was going to happen, they only knew the alien would emerge.
You’re wrong about that.
@@JohnMartin-oh6bf .... I'm not wrong about that. The cast rehearsed the scene with the puppeteers operating the alien. What part of that do you not understand?
@@Stogie2112 you’re wrong on that too,the cast had no idea what the alien looked like up until the scene was shot.
My first 18 certificate film I saw when I was 19. Scared the shit out of me 😁. A classic.
Amelia's reactions are my favorite because she doesn't talk through everything, she actually watches and listens. Plus she's really cute!
"In space, no one can hear you scream."
"In space, no one can eat ice cream"
@@old_school_4ever Actually, the astronauts had freeze-dried ice cream.
Amelia is the best on the two channels. As stated, no overacting I mean reacting, looking, listening, conveying her emotions thru her eyes and facial expressions. Certainly will continue to watch. A genuine pleasure. Thanks for sharing.
I prefer Coby. Amelia mentions too many irrelevant things just to "say something", Coby's comments are more natural.
Enjoy.
Loved your reaction. So genuine and stressed. 😂😂😂 Can't wait to see your reaction to Aliens.
Who in their right mind goes back for the ship's cat when an eight-foot acid-for-blood alien is hunting you down. The best Truckers in space film made.
Although at the time they hadn't realised that it had massively increased in size
@@leslieturner8276 They may be referring to Ripley looking for the cat near the end of the film.
You hear that Mike? Your pro-noun got respected.
You don't know what it is."
No, YOU don't know what it is.
My favorite movie of all--time. Thanks for reacting to it.
I love watching people of a younger generation loving movies and music that I loved in my youth. Alien is a classic!
It was never referred to as a facehugger in the film though.
Beautiful reaction. Thank you.
I loved your reaction. This was the 1st and only movie that ever had me on the edge of my seat.
One of the best Alien reactions I've seen. 👏🏼
I don't care about "next", but when she does, Director's Cut, obviously.
One of the rare examples of a sequel that actually improves on the original.
One of my favorite horror films, and now I have a new reactor to follow. Great reaction.
Very good reaction Amelia…. Thank you for watching it ….. You seem very genuine😎👍
Great reaction to a great movie. Ripley is an absolute badass. It's just sad that we don't see much writing on this level nowadays.
Amelia is so cute and I luv her excited and "sucked in" reaction! :) She was like part of the movie! :) A shy meow from Switzerland.
I feel like I am not alone watching this Ridley Scott master piece and i guess it is the point. Nice
30:55 "She defeated that alien all on her own."
Well, she had Jones, he was the true hero all along! :)
Jones deserves his own movie, let’s be honest :)
Always thought Weaver could be Roland Orzabal’s older sister.
Amelia, I would watch your reaction videos even if you never said a word. You are obviously engrossed in the movie and your reactions are genuine.
"It's got a great defense mechanism. You don't dare kill it."
Classic sci-fi horror.
None of the crew was pre[ared for anything like this. .
Hi Amelia hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️

I saw this in the theatre when it came out (I was about 18) - the breakfast scene was really, really shocking then.
You should have watched it in the pitch dark like I did in the theater as a kid. I remember the audience screaming together lol.
I love how animated Amelia is watching this masterpiece :3

Alien is an absolute classic, you really need to see Aliens next.
Haha Amelia! A lady after my own heart. I'm never more relaxed than when I'm in a small confined area. So many people seem claustrophobic, but I guess we're the opposite... Claustrophiliac?
Seeing this at home, VS in the theater is that you miss the subsonics they play in the theater to increase the stress of the viewers.
The sequel is a must watch. Its my top five movies of all time
You have a very expressive face. Very good for movie reactions, this is one of my favorite reactions to this I have ever seen. Well done.
Thank you! 😃
@@popcornroulettereactions You're welcome, I truly enjoyed your reaction. You showed real anxiety. I hope to get into making these myself with my Fiancée.
18:20 "Why is there a cat in space?
Also "Why are they smoking cigarettes in space?"
Same reason, at least partially.
Liked your reaction.
Ellen Ripley (Alien) is one of the 2 names that usually pop out immediately when you ask people who've seen these older movies to name who is the greatest female bada** character in movies. 😉
From the year I was born. Thus, a young movie.
Great reaction. If you watch the sequel, please watch the special edition cut. It adds some really good context and is the better version. The sequel is fabulous by the way.
Movie suggestion - "The Birds'. Veronica Cartwright who played Lambert in "Alien" is in it. It''s a 1963 Alfred Hitchcock suspense classic.
I love your reactions, I thought if mr. staypuft creeped you out, Alien had to be a good one for you.
I've known two young women in their 20's ( a client ) and 30's ( a friend of my daughter ) who said Alien had a major role in their decision not to have children. The body horror seen in the movie attached to their idea of pregnancy. It's been fifteen years now and they never did have children.
That’s interesting!! I imagine it traumatized them when they were younger which probably shaped their view of the world.
In answer to your question about having the cat in space, traditionally most ships (like the kind on water, I mean) had problems with rats and mice, so they kept cats on board to help with that. Either spaceships have the same problem, or they keep a cat out of tradition, or maybe they just like cats.
I truly hope Ms Amelia is doin okay. I was stressing out watching her stress out 😂😢😂😢😂
Haha as always, I recovered just fine 😅
Great Reaction, looking forward to Aliens
Make sure you watch the Special Edition of the sequel Aliens. That is all.
I think the head design of the alien was inspired by the Moray eel. that eel has a small jaw inside its large jaw that flings out and grabs its prey.
Bon Jovi reference was pure gold.
Lambert (other female) really wasn't acting much at the dining table - the actress wasn't told about the blood and alien popping out. Jump scare indeed...
