@@totallywhatever If you’re going to watch more 90s comedies, you should definitely check out Grumpy Old Men and it’s sequel. Both were filmed in Minnesota.
I second Grumpy Old Men and Grumpier Old Men. Both are hilarious. Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon are a great comedic duo of their generation. I also recommend Father of the Bride (1991) Stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, Diane Keaton and Introducing Kimberly Williams-Paisley. A very funny film and nice story. A remake of the original Father of The Bride (1950) starring Spencer Tracy. Finally, I recommend "MouseHunt" a great 1997 Comedy drama starring Nathan Lane and Actor and Comedian Lee Evans. Also co-stars Christopher Walken. A funny film with a very cute Mouse that has a live action Tom and Jerry feel to it.
Loved the reaction to a great fun movie. There is a ton of great 80s comedies, "Stripes","Ghostbusters" and "Groundhog Day" all with Bill Murray and Harold Ramis collaboration. "Beetlejuice" and "Mr. Mom" with Micheal Keaton. "Beverly Hills Cop" or "Back to the Future" these both have franchises. Have fun picking and try some of these if you haven't watched any of them. Thanks again for allowing us on your movie journey!
"Is there air? You don't know!" The fans (including the Thermians) were the real heroes of this movie. This was a real love story to Trek and other science fiction fans.
Near the end when I hear Alan Rickman say, “By Grabthar’s hammer, by the sons of Warvan. You shall be avenged!”, and MEAN it, I break down and cry. I am crying now as I write this. And I don’t know why. RIP Alan Rickman. Maybe because, he is missed.

Her role was expanded after the producers noticed Sigourney Weaver was the only female main character. Fan Boy Fact: Tim Allen admitted that he was quite star-struck when he met Sigourney Weaver, as he's a huge fan of Alien (1979). Red Shirt Lives Fact: Despite frequent whining about his character Crewman Number Six being expendable and going to die, Guy Fleegman (Sam Rockwell) is the only crew member not to be shot and killed by Sarris (Robin Sachs) during his surprise assault towards the end.
Galaxy Quest is a great example of capturing lightning in a bottle, everything and everyone was perfect. As much as you enjoyed the movie, you would probably also enjoy Never Surrender on Prime. It is a 90-minute documentary made in 2019 for the 20th anniversary of the movie. It interviews cast, crew, and executives about the history and making of the movie. It also interviews fans, critics, and Star Trek alumni about the film's initial reception and lasting legacy. They specifically talk at one point about how the Thermians became the way they were. I have watched it about a half dozen times by now and love it each time.
Right. He ad libbed that scream. It really startled Sigourney. I read that he took this role to get the taste of his Green Mile role out of the public’s mouth.
When Tim had a hard time dealing with his emotions filming the torture scene he had to retire to his trailer. Every actor in this film absolutely nailed their performances and it launched some brilliant careers.
I’ve watched a few reactions to this movie and I can’t believe almost nobody picks up on the fact that Shaloub’s character is stoned out of his mind the entire time. It seems so obvious to me.
In the scene when Tony Shalhoub decides to beam the rock monster up to the ship @42:06 and says "haha, I just had this really interesting idea", Sam Rockwell responds with "are you stoned?". Also @12:38 when they first arrive on the starport, Tony Shalhoub stares at the floor and says "wow, the floors are so clean." Haha.
Sigourney Weaver was very happy to actually get to play comedy. In an interview she commented how hilarious it was that her uniform was the only one made of tear-away fabric. She insisted that whenever she put on the blonde wig, she could feel herself losing IQ points.
Great reaction, guys. What makes this movie great is the naïveté of the Thermians. The actors do a great job of endearing us to these characters. And it’s central to Naismith and the rest of the Galaxy Quest crew rediscovering the love they had for their show. Good luck to you and hope your channel keeps on growing if that is your wish. Happy New Year!
47:14 That guy playing Sarris is none other than the awesome Robin Sachs, RIP. While he did so a fair bit of live action, he's best remembered for his voice acting work in numerous video games and cartoons.
The reason the Thermians had to separate the ship was because it was going to fast and the ship would have crashed into the planet, so thats why she could go to Earth with Fred. The film was originally for and older audience but they cut it down to be more PG friendly which you can still see, Fred was supposed to be high, they dubbed over a line by Sigorney when they get to the chompers and says 'screw that' you can actually see her lips forming 'f ck that'. They also cut out the scene that explains why her boobs are suddenly hanging out as well.
All this. I remember walking out of the theater and thinking there was an even better movie laying on the cutting room floor. Rumor at the time was alot of it had to do with Tim Allen selling his soul to Disney.
I got to see this movie at the theater and was blown away with the humor and visual effects. And, being a Star Trek fan, I was even more impressed with the great parody of Star Trek conventions. Thanks for letting us be a part of the journey with you both. It was like watching the movie for the first time. 🙂
I thought it was inspired to cast him as security chief in the reboot. After all, his fatalistic outlook made him ideally hyper vigilant for the position. 🤣
Such a clever premise and excellent execution with some awesome performances and just pure heartfelt fun. I love this movie. And I'm pretty sure the brown paper bag contains something more of a smokeable product rather than a snack. 😁😁
"We must separate or we die" He just means that the big part of the ship isn't made for entry into a planet's atmosphere and would burn up. He wasn't saying the aliens could go on the planet as was demonstrated at the beginning of the movie
Yes this does reference some of the original star trek episodes with William Shatner from the 1960s. When fighting the pig lizard this references one episode in particular. Where Shatner (Captain Kirk) is on a planet and must fight a human lizard like creature running through a desert like terrain. In it he makes a simple set of weapons from items he has or finds. Hence the line in this movie "can you find something to form some rudimentary lathe?". Just one example.
Enrico was the first hired to play an alien for Galaxy Quest and he came up with all of the mannerisms and speech himself. The director basically had all of the other aliens do little workshops with him so they all would move and talk the same.
This movie is great for rewatchability and just watch one character through the entire film and you will see them emoting in ways you miss in a general watch.
I love that triple cut: Weaver's home to Rickman's home to Allen's home and how each environment is distinctively different. Middle to lower to higher class sound right?
Fred (Tony Shaloub) was spacy all the time (and was also eating snacks all the time) because he was supposed to be stoned, but they cut all the explicit drug references do they could get a PG rating. They also cut the scene where Tawny Madison's uniform gets ripped. Sigourney Weaver jumped when Sam Rockwell screamed after they were all beamed up. The scream was unscripted, so Weaver wasn't expecting it. Her reaction was real. If you watch Sigourney Weaver's lips when she sees the chompers, you'll see that she didn't say "screw that." They dubbed it, again so they could get a PG rating.
I absolutely love this movie! I’m so glad you watched it! If I’m remembering correctly, I believe that it’s earned an honorary place in the un/official cannon of Star Trek.
Great reaction. I love all the references in the movie, but my favourite is when Sigourney Weaver says "why is it always ducts" as her character Ripley in the Alien movies is always crawling through ducts. :)
Great reaction to what is a) one of my favorite american comedies, a film truly ahead of its time, b) the best film ever made on fandom, and c) one of my favorite films on actors. A comedy that is so fucking hilarious that when it moves you, you're like "what the hell?"... but yes it did. That's writing. Oh, and "let's get out of here before one of those things kills Guy!" is one of the most undervalued comedy lines ever, imo. Sigourney has so many great moments in this film. They all do. They all shine at some point.
I loved your reactions to this superb " Love Letter " to Star Trek. And I love the fact that Fred Kwan ( played by Tony Shalhoub ) had " the munchies " throughout the movie! 🤣
He had the munchies because he was smoking weed, which is why he was so chill. When his "jello" shows up late, there's smoke that comes out of it in the lower area. They decided to leave out scenes that made it obvious, probably for the ratings, so if you don't know the background story, it's not easy to figure out.
There's a deleted scene that was supposed to be at the end of the movie. It shows the rock monster floating in space and it has the subtitles "finally some peace and quiet." Or something along those lines. So it'll be just fine.
No need to be sorry for the rock monster. Alan Rickman already told us that it's motivation was to be undisturbed by noise, which is what it will get as it floats along in space. And space is unimaginably large and extremely empty, so it's not really likely to run into anything. Honestly, it couldn't have hoped for a better fate.
One of my favorite stories concerns Patrick Stewart, star of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He hated this movie before he ever saw it, sure it looked down on its subject and their fans. Jonathan Frakes told him he needed to see it, in a full theater. So he did, and he loved it and laughed louder than anyone else. He particularly loved the affection the movie showed to the fans and how they were the real heroes of the story.
29:50 - Great reaction. I'm glad you enjoyed it. And the rock monster is an even stranger reference to Star Trek. Without spoilers, the 5th movie, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, originally had a very expensive sequence filmed with rock monsters. But because special effects weren't great at the time, it just looked like dudes in rock costumes, so they cut it despite the fact that it was super costly. The nerds that made Galaxy Quest thought it would be funny to the fans that were aware of that bit of trivia, so they put in the rock monster. As one of those nerdy fans, they were correct, it is hilarious.
There is a documentary about the making of this movie that is fantastic and explains so much including the language and mannerisms of the thermians. Well worth watch if not for a review but just for yourself.
Always jealous of people who get to watch this for the first time. Saw it in the cinema when it came out, with no pre- knowledge and was blown away. Fantastic cast including a bunch of Canadian comedic actors as many of the aliens; Enrico Colantoni & Missi Pyle to name a couple.
Hi lovely ladies, another fun reaction. The scene in the bathroom where Tim Alan over hears them putting him down is based on a true event with William Shatner. When the crew first arrives on the ship and Guy screams Sigourney's reaction is real because it was improvised. Lastly at the end when they say they have to split up it's because the full ship wouldn't be able to "safely" land due to its size.
I always have been amazed by how people miss all the video game references. The NSEA Protector is literally a flying Quake logo. The walkway over the giant fan and "chompers" are from Halflife. The hostile aliens, especially Saris, are Skaarj from Unreal. There are more references. as a bonus, the "pig-lizard" seems to be from a Monty Python skit.
If you guys want to watch some select Star Trek Original Series episodes I have taken the liberty to put together a short ten list from all three seasons of the show. 1. The Man Trap (The first broadcast episode) 2. Amok Time 3. The Naked Time 4. Balance of Terror 5. Mirror, Mirror 6. Space Seed 7. City on the Edge of Forever 8. The Trouble With Tribbles 9. Let That Be Your Last Battlefield 10. A Piece of the Action I'm sure many people won't agree with all my picks, however, I chose these specifically based on what I think you two might enjoy the most, not necessarily what the Star Trek fans think are the best of the best.(Though a few of these are among the most celebrated.) It's also, a sampling of all three seasons in one list. If you did enjoy those and wanted to watch more, my five runners up would be: 1. The Doomsday Machine 2. Charlie X 3. By Any Other Name 4. This Side of Paradise 5. Wolf in the Fold
(I would also strongly suggest watching at least a few of the TOS episodes, The Man Trap, Space Seed, Amok Time would be my top 3 picks right off, just to give yourselves a general grounding, if you so intended to watch the movies.)
Stan Winston (d. 2008) and his Stan Winston Studio did the special effects. He's known for SFX in such movies as Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, and Aliens.
Great reaction! If you’re up for TV shows and you haven’t watched it, Robin Sachs did a brilliant job playing a recurring character in 3~4 episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Easily the best TV series of the 90s - 00s in my opinion.
Not only was it a great comedy, but it was great as a SciFi movie. Here's some great SciFi movies I recommend: "The Day the Earth Stood Still" 1951, "War of the Worlds" 1953, "Them!" 1954, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" 1954, "Forbidden Planet" 1956, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" 1956, "The Fly" 1958, "The Time Machine" 1960, "Planet of the Apes" 1968 "The Omega Man" 1971, "Silent Running" 1972, "Outland" 1981 "Short Circuit" 1986, "Batteries Not Included" 1987, "WarGames"1983, "The Manhattan Project"1986, "Independence Day" 1996, "Bicentennial Man" 1999
The fight with the rock monster partially references Star Trek 1x18 Arena in which Kirk is on a planet, has no weapons and has to fight a reptilian-ish alien.
@totallywhatever Oh, and I don't know if you looked it up already but the bad guy was the same actor as Ethan Rayne in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (if you've seen that).
Hello Carolyn & Nanette!😊 The references to Star Trek are just general, not specific. Although the commander's personality does seem to resemble Captain Kirk's.😄 This film has been voted as being one of the best Star Trek films by Star Trek fans. Enrico Colantoni is the one who came up how the aliens should act in his audition. Great reactions to this well made film with a great ensemble, Ladies!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love movie. It's both a parody and loving homage to Star Trek. Yet, you don't have to be a big Trekkie to enjoy it. There is only one indirect nod to the show, but it is hidden in plain sight. The letters on the side of the Protector NTE is short for "Not The Enterprise", which is the main starship of Trek. Several actors of Star Trek: The Next Generation have called Quest the best Trek episode they never did.
This was originally going to be an "R" rated movie. Tony Shaloub's chatacter was supposed to be a Stoner with a bag of Weed, Because of pressure from Disney they changed it to a "PG" rated film. Tony's Munchies and Gwens "F" bomb (overdubbed with "Well Screw that!" in the Chomper Room Scene) are the only leftovers from the original "R" rated version. Disney didn't want Tim Allen, their Buzz Lightyear and Santa Claus in an "R" rated movie.
This movie is a love letter to Star Trek, and is probably the 2nd or 3rd best Trek movie. It seems like a parody making fun of Trek, but its creators and writers LOVE Trek and it shows.
The impromptu announcer at the end is Canadian comedian Kevin MacDonald of Kids In The Hall. Very funny stuff. Consider checking out their movie Brain Candy.
People who never watched Star Trek enjoy movie. So can you imagine how much big Star Trek fans (like me) love this movie. It's perfect!! Tim Allen doesn't get enough credit for anything he does. A fun Alan Rickman movie to watch is "Quigley Down Under"(1990). He did it just after Die Hard, again playing a perfect villain. It Stars Tom Selleck as the world's perfect looking cowboy and a Rifle that inspired a shooting contest held yearly in Montana for the last 25 years. I was 14 in 1979 when I saw Alien. I fell in love with Sigourney Weaver. From then on I went to see any movie she was in. The movies I got with her in the 80s! Mind blowing! Movies and performances you don't get today. There will never be a better actress. Two great movies to watch from the 80s Starring Sigourney, "The Year of Living Dangerously"(1983) a Peter Weir film, Australia's greatest director. "Working Girl"(1989)Co-Starring Harrison Ford. Both films received Oscar nominations and wins. Yes you should totally watch the OG Star Trek and there movies.
I wish I had something clever to say --some unique observation. Alas. I have seen this so many times, but I enjoyed watching you two enjoying it. It is indeed a sci-fi comedy, but it has some select dramatic scenes. You should check out a hilarious 1988 movie called "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels."
that was a great reaction ladies but here is the thing that will make you think at the end when the show was renewed was it film in a studio or is it filmed in space on the real ship
Haven't seen this movie in forever, remember loving it - shocked they didn't do more with Qalaxy Quest like sequels or cartoon or something hehe, but I suppose the core of the story is best suited as a single movie
There were a lot of discussions about a sequel, especially after home video made it something of a hit. But once Alan Rickman died, well, that was the end of that.
@@totallywhatever The other tidbit I learned about his character is that he was supposed to be an Asian character being played by a white actor, as Hollywood has historically done, that is why he has that sorta stoned squint all the time. His character name is Fred Kwan. Once learning that, it really sheds a new light on the depth of his performance.
A great Comedy! Glad you both are doing this film. A great love letter/parody to Star Trek. Alan Rickman is great in this film. If you want to see him in a great epic role. I recommend "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves . A great 1991 rendition of the great tale. Rickman plays George, Thr Sheriff of Nottingham, the films antagonist. Kevin Costner plays The great protagonist, Robin of Locksley. Morgan Freeman also stars in a big supporting role also. An epic film. Also, another notable actor is Sam Rockwell, who plays Guy in this film. If you want to see him in a great supporting role, I recommend "Charlie's Angels"a great 2000 action film, based off of the early 80s espianoge TV Show. Rockwell Stars with Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Bill Murray. A great film! Finally, if you want to see a great film with Tony Shaloub, who plays the up for anything Fred Kwan, I recommend "Paulie" a great 1998 family film about a Parrot and his journey. Shaloub stars with Actor and Comedian Jay Mohr. Hallie Kate Eisenberg also stars. A very nice film! Great reaction!
"Look around you! Can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe?" - is a reference to Arena, one of TOS' most iconic episodes (S1E8) where Captain Kirk fights a man in a rubber suit at Vasquez Rocks in CA 😉 Definitely one to seek out. Otherwise, most of the Trek references are more general parody than specific episode jokes - crawling through tubes (so frequent they have their own fan designation of 'Jeffries Tubes'), fist fights with aliens, jokes about tropes/writing, etc, as well as meta-jokes about cast friction, big egos, and fans. The Original Series is fairly short and you can probably breeze through it 2-3 episodes at a time. The sequel series, The Next Generation (which Galaxy Quest homages at the end), is much longer but worth the watch if you become a Trekkie 🖖
The original tv show! Some episodes are better than most movies made in the last 50 years. City on the Edge of Forever, The Enemy From Within, Space Seed, Mirror Mirror, Balance of Terror and more.
@ I will absolutely do Patreon for 4 seasons and a movie. 🎉🎉 If you move on to The Expanse, Firefly, and Fringe you got me minimum a year on full reactions. 😂😂😂
Ha ha I went on a star Trek cruse two years ago once. I am a hugh secret Star Trek fan. Just the old stuff, new stuff is just to woke for me. Anyway I was thrilled to spend many hours with Nicole de Boar. I might have outted myself with my crush for her.

Tony Shaloub's character is supposed to be baked the whole movie, hence the chillness and snacks
That makes so much sense!
I’ve watched a few reactions to this movie and I can’t believe almost nobody picks up on the fact that Shaloub’s character is stoned out of his mind the entire time. It seems so obvious to me.
That's what he was doing while everyone else got teleported to the ship

His voice is amazing and was perfect for this role!
I'm pretty sure he also plays the dad sitting on the couch when 'Brandon' leaves home with his fireworks.
Alan Rickman's character hates his character, but he is never seen out of make-up. Guy is the only person not shot before the Omega 13 is engaged.
Guy's scream when they're transported aboard for the first time was an ad-lib, you can see Sigourney jump when he does it 🙂
😆 it was great!

Thanks for watching! We totally agree with you on Sam Rockwell!
He knocks my socks off, with every role I see. Check out "Moon" if you haven't.
@totallywhatever another great Sam Rockwell comedy with a lot of heart is "JoJo Rabbit." It's definitely worth watching if you haven't seen it yet.
He's in another killer movie that no-one reacts to.

Enrico was the first hired to play an alien for Galaxy Quest and he came up with all of the mannerisms and speech himself. The director basically had all of the other aliens do little workshops with him so they all would move and talk the same.
Thank you.
I love that you recognised the Thermians' actors.
Yes, and such great performances from them!!
One of my absolute favorite sci-fi movies ever made.
It was sooo good!!
This movie is great for rewatchability and just watch one character through the entire film and you will see them emoting in ways you miss in a general watch.
I love that triple cut: Weaver's home to Rickman's home to Allen's home and how each environment is distinctively different. Middle to lower to higher class sound right?
Great point!
We love this movie too, it was so funny!! We weren’t sure what to expect but we had such a great time watching!
Many Star Trek fans will only partially in jest say that this is the best of the Star Trek movies.
I love how Tech Sergeant Chen, was so unfazed.
Yes, we were surprised with how much heart this movie had with how funny it was!!!
I loved your reactions to this superb " Love Letter " to Star Trek.
And I love the fact that Fred Kwan ( played by Tony Shalhoub ) had " the munchies " throughout the movie! 🤣
Thanks so much, we really ended up enjoying this movie more than we imagined!
He is an awesome actor. Loved him on Wings.
I love Tony Shalhoub in his TV series "Monk". You should check it out - you'll love it too! 😉
He had the munchies because he was smoking weed, which is why he was so chill. When his "jello" shows up late, there's smoke that comes out of it in the lower area. They decided to leave out scenes that made it obvious, probably for the ratings, so if you don't know the background story, it's not easy to figure out.
Yes. Tony's character was stoned during the whole film.
Makes so much sense!
"Well, that answers my question..."
I always feel kinda bad for the rock monster 😅 Now he's just drifting through space until he hits something 🥶
😆 awww, so true! And he was just defending his own planet!
Oh wow, well will definitely check it out, thanks!
I am a simple man. I see Galaxy Quest, and I move like a red thingy to the green thingy and click it.
Ohhh yes, Missi Pyle, we didn’t know her name but know her from so many things!!
That’s so sad, but William Shatner is definitely getting the last laugh!!
Alan and Sam are great in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
If you watch it, have a towel handy...
Oh my gosh, now I have to see it! They’re quickly becoming two of my favorite actors!
If you guys want to watch some select Star Trek Original Series episodes I have taken the liberty to put together a short ten list from all three seasons of the show.
1. The Man Trap (The first broadcast episode)
2. Amok Time
3. The Naked Time
4. Balance of Terror
5. Mirror, Mirror
6. Space Seed
7. City on the Edge of Forever
8. The Trouble With Tribbles
9. Let That Be Your Last Battlefield
10. A Piece of the Action
I'm sure many people won't agree with all my picks, however, I chose these specifically based on what I think you two might enjoy the most, not necessarily what the Star Trek fans think are the best of the best.(Though a few of these are among the most celebrated.) It's also, a sampling of all three seasons in one list.
If you did enjoy those and wanted to watch more, my five runners up would be:
1. The Doomsday Machine
2. Charlie X
3. By Any Other Name
4. This Side of Paradise
5. Wolf in the Fold
(I would also strongly suggest watching at least a few of the TOS episodes, The Man Trap, Space Seed, Amok Time would be my top 3 picks right off, just to give yourselves a general grounding, if you so intended to watch the movies.)
Wow, thanks so much for the list! We definitely do want to see some Star Trek!!
This is one my favorite Tim Allen movies!😉 They were all actors that got their groove back by going through an actual REAL space adventure!🤣
So true, we loved it!
@totallywhatever Yeah I know y'all did😂
Awesome reaction. Thank you, thank you.
Ladies, Fred the "snack sack" guy is high. Check out the smoke released when he appears on the teleport pad.
Thank you for laughing at "screen saver 2". That goes right by most other reactors.
😂 it was a good line!!
5:35 This scene is based on something that actually happened to William Shatner at one of the cons he attended.
So sad, people can really suck sometimes.
One of my favorites. Another movie with the same feel to it is "Mystery Men".
Galaxy Quest is the best Star Trek movie ever made.
Stan Winston (d. 2008) and his Stan Winston Studio did the special effects. He's known for SFX in such movies as Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, and Aliens.
Many Star Trek fans rate this as one of the best "Star Trek" movies and even the actors from the StarTrek shows say it's better than half the movies.
Great reaction! If you’re up for TV shows and you haven’t watched it, Robin Sachs did a brilliant job playing a recurring character in 3~4 episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Easily the best TV series of the 90s - 00s in my opinion.
Thanks so much, we may do some Tv at some point so I’ll keep it in mind!
Of note; before they activate the Omega 13, everyone on the bridge gets shot EXCEPT Guy 😯🤣🤣
Love the video!
Thank you!!!
It was when the ship itself could not go through the black hole, not the crew, so she was fine going with Phil
Not only was it a great comedy, but it was great as a SciFi movie.
Here's some great SciFi movies I recommend: "The Day the Earth Stood Still" 1951, "War of the Worlds" 1953, "Them!" 1954, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" 1954, "Forbidden Planet" 1956, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" 1956, "The Fly" 1958, "The Time Machine" 1960, "Planet of the Apes" 1968 "The Omega Man" 1971, "Silent Running" 1972, "Outland" 1981 "Short Circuit" 1986, "Batteries Not Included" 1987, "WarGames"1983, "The Manhattan Project"1986, "Independence Day" 1996, "Bicentennial Man" 1999
Saved a lot of reaction videos but saw this one and immediately clicked.
Yay, thanks so much for watching with us!!
The fight with the rock monster partially references Star Trek 1x18 Arena in which Kirk is on a planet, has no weapons and has to fight a reptilian-ish alien.
Ahhh we thought it may have come from somewhere, that’s good to know!
This movie was so great!! Eric Colantoni was especially great, we really felt for him. Thanks so much for watching with us!
We agree, such a great movie. We will have to rewatch after seeing Star Trek and will probably love it even more!
Ahhh that makes a lot of sense!
This movie is a love letter to Star Trek, and is probably the 2nd or 3rd best Trek movie. It seems like a parody making fun of Trek, but its creators and writers LOVE Trek and it shows.
We really will have to rewatch this after we see Star Trek!!
The impromptu announcer at the end is Canadian comedian Kevin MacDonald of Kids In The Hall. Very funny stuff. Consider checking out their movie Brain Candy.
Something else we haven’t seen but will need to add to our list! Thanks!
This is such a fun movie! And Sam Rockwell is great, no matter the role.
So true, we love Sam Rockwell in everything he does!! Thanks for watching!
Some say it’s a bag of weed. That’s why he is so chil…..🤪
😂😂 that would be a good reason he’s that chill!
I'll give you a few suggestions: *Second Hand Lions, Big Fish, Grumpy Old Men, Bicentennial Man* to name a few.
Great list, thank you so much!
@totallywhatever You're very welcome!
Just Shoot Me is a hilarious show. It probably wouldnt get a lot of views because most people havent seen it. But its definitely worth watching.
Oh yeah, I think I remember that one, it had David Spade, right?
@totallywhatever Yes
Yes, we will have to rewatch after seeing Star Trek, but still loved this movie!! We LOVED Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman in this!
Great reaction.
Thanks so much for watching!!
I wish I had something clever to say --some unique observation. Alas. I have seen this so many times, but I enjoyed watching you two enjoying it. It is indeed a sci-fi comedy, but it has some select dramatic scenes.
You should check out a hilarious 1988 movie called "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels."
that was a great reaction ladies but here is the thing that will make you think at the end
when the show was renewed was it film in a studio or is it filmed in space on the real ship
Oh good question, I think the thermians at least had some part in it!!
Two beautiful ladies. Thank you for helping me through my first unemployment in 20 years.
We’re so sorry to hear that, but glad we can provide some distraction! We hope you find something soon! ❤️
Haven't seen this movie in forever, remember loving it - shocked they didn't do more with Qalaxy Quest like sequels or cartoon or something hehe, but I suppose the core of the story is best suited as a single movie
We loved it, I would definitely watch a sequel but we don’t think it needs one!
@@totallywhatever Agreed!
There were a lot of discussions about a sequel, especially after home video made it something of a hit. But once Alan Rickman died, well, that was the end of that.
By Grabthar's Hammer, what a reaction 😀
You need to watch the movie Big Trouble! It's Tim Allen's best one, IMO. It also has a fantastic cast.
Thanks for the recommendation, I just added it to our list!
7:44 "I know they're...... umm... ok..." -Nanette
😆 we didn’t expect that!!
I believe that Tony Shaloub was supposed to be a pot-head originally, but it would have made the movie go up in ratings. Instead, they implied it.
That makes so much sense!!
ya, tons of studio meddling. The Enrico Colantoni interview talking about Tony's greasy bag is hilarious.
@@ThomasBeauchamp-m8m Which is why he always has the munchies, and always seems so unfazed by everything.
😆
Some good recommendations, we’ll add them to our list, thanks!
Quigley down under.
Sam Rockwell is hilarious in this...they all are
Love this movie. Jojo the Rabbit has a great Sam Rockwell role.
Oh wow, I didn’t even know he was in that movie!! it’s going on our list!
Ahh so many references, we definitely need to see Star Trek and then rewatch!!
I thought the lathe comment was funny on its own, but now it’s even funnier!
@@totallywhatever It'll get even funnier when you find out what Kirk actually makes in Arena 😉
Uh oh ladies, now you must watch the movies this pays homage to, Star Trek!!
So true!! I think we have some Star Trek movies on our horizon!
@@totallywhatever Can't wait!!
The original tv show! Some episodes are better than most movies made in the last 50 years. City on the Edge of Forever, The Enemy From Within, Space Seed, Mirror Mirror, Balance of Terror and more.
@@reesebn38 For the first 6 movies the even numbered are best. But the odd are worth watching too.
A love letter to Star Trek
Now we have to dive into Star Trek!
There is a good interview with Enrico Colantoni on TH-cam about creating the thermian race behaviors.
I’ll have to find it and watch, he was amazing!
Again if Lucy didn’t meet Desi ...STAR TREK would not have happened and this movie would not exist
That is such a crazy connection!!
Fred was always eating be cause he was always stoned
😆 makes so much sense!!
Would you consider watching Transformers (2007)? Great video.
OK, if you guys really like the creature design in this, you really need to watch Farscape. Seriously. Watch Farscape.
I just looked up Farscape. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of it! We’ll have to add it to our list!! Thanks!
@ I will absolutely do Patreon for 4 seasons and a movie. 🎉🎉
If you move on to The Expanse, Firefly, and Fringe you got me minimum a year on full reactions. 😂😂😂
My favorite series of all time. Produced by the Henson people of Muppet fame and a bunch of Star Trek alums.
Ha ha I went on a star Trek cruse two years ago once. I am a hugh secret Star Trek fan. Just the old stuff, new stuff is just to woke for me. Anyway I was thrilled to spend many hours with Nicole de Boar. I might have outted myself with my crush for her.
Wow, a Star Trek cruise!!! That sounds pretty epic!
6:00 Some people go to the conventions just to bully and make fun of the people there. 😐
That’s so sad!!
Just Shoot Me was a good sitcom
Brandon's mother deserved better than George Costanza.
you two are great sisters you should watch with your husbands some time that would be fun
🖖
