I think I might have a crack at doing a video series on my workshop ute thanks to you
nothing as well edited or filmed but I think documenting the process and progress would be fun to look back on later

I admire you TIGing so much of this.
What gauge sheet metal are you using?
I can't remember if you have made your rear firewall yet. What gauge are you using or had used for it?

Thanks! It’s time consuming but only way to master it is to keep doing it so I take every opportunity to do it.
I haven’t settled on a rear bulkhead material yet but leaning towards 14 or 16 gauge aluminum. It won’t be structural but I do want it strong enough to hold stuff.
Most of the sheet metal in the rear is 20 gauge to save on weight. Factory stuff is even thinner. All the structural plate/sheet is 1/8 though. Like roll cage mounts, strut towers, etc

I though i was only one doing Hobaru project 😄 i have second gen CRX and engine from Subaru legacy 200 turbo, i was planning to use 6 speed gearbox, but how about front axle? I was thinking S2000 front axle 🤔

Nice! I think the second gen crx’s have the EF struts up front right? If so you could run factory Integra stuff I think. I could be way off, it’s been a long time since I was knee deep in EF Hondas. The first gen CRX runs a torsion bar up front and the structure was rotted out completely so I went with Subaru suspension front/rear since I had to make it anyway. Also gave me the ability to run the STi Brembo setup which is cheaper than any of the Honda big brake kits.

@@Enginuity okay 👍 i have two spare part Subaru legacys so i am planning using parts from those to build rear axle and engine mounting.

@@Enginuity probably not, perhaps doing a project diary.

Gotcha. If you do film it plan for everything to take 3-4 times as long - I found that out the hard way 🤣
