  • Bossman John Stallard's Napoleonic Black Powder collection is already a truly magnificent spectacle on the tabletop, but John's paint station is never empty. His latest additions bring even more splendour to his Peninsular Campaign selections, in the form of Spanish and Portuguese. He even teases future releases for those armies...

Very nice work, am suitably impressed! One small thing: Portuguese battalions carried one flag, not two, with the senior battalion carrying the king's colour, the second battalion carrying a coloured flag based on the piping on the jacket.

A cracking looking force! Well done JS 👍. (I must say that is a rather lovely looking Dovecot/tower on John’s gaming table 😀.)

Damn I'd really love to build.a spanish army ! I hope you are planning to release several new units since I understand they had many different outfits for their units. I already plan to use portuguese line units to mix them with the grenadiers of the Guards. I've been assembling and painting warhammer miniatures for the last 15 years but these historical units are an absolute dream for me.

Its good to see our old British allies being fair and respectful with the Portuguese army, who won so many astonishing battles all over the world for about...600 years, well, if we count Viriathus and the Lusithans I would have to say 2000 years. Thank you.

I've always wanted to build an Napoleonic army, but the amount of models is a little overwhelming. Now there's epic Waterloo, problem solved!

I know what you mean about being intimidated about painting 28 mm Napoleonics. I was too until I came to the realization that you don't have to paint every last button, and every trooper doesn't need to be done at the same level as you would want your commander. As long as the figures are recognizable enough from 3 to 4 feet, put an awesome flag on, base them nicely, and crack onto the next unit. Next thing you know you have the complete OOB for (in my case) the Battle of Rolica!

Imagine a world where warlord games didn’t get super hyper sensitive and ban people on the discord server for saying “don’t worry won’t take long he is getting his ass beat lol”

Portugal won thousands of battles since the times of the Lusithans and the Celts, defeated Spains hundreads of times, defeated the Arabs, the Otomans, the Dutch, the French and many others, during the last 2.000 years. The Romans took just 10 years to conquer the entire France, but they needed 200 years to conquer Portugal. Portugal won alone battles in the entire world and yet the old British arrogance insist in calling: - the poor, weak Portuguese? Imagine if we were strong! We would be stronger as the Germans were in Stalinegrad and Germany completly destroyed. Keep the Uberalles policy, until one day, another "weak" enemy test your really value, for instance India, or China.
