THIS IS WHAT I THOUGHT TOO! AHHH! LOL
I have these in my house. I can report with complete accuracy, rarely do we ever see any bugs in the house anymore where we had big bugs running everywhere at first. We do not us pesticides in the house at all. It is my understanding that these devices do not work instantaneously. The repelling nature of this device, from what I have read, you might compare to someone standing outside of your house smacking a tire iron against a flag pole day and night. If you can't stop this aggravating racket (not any normal insect we know of can pull these out of a socket), eventually you will pack up and leave. One of the problems with the above experiment I see is that there are several variables that are not controlled. Because the bugs are not being controlled in terms of which ones can go and which ones can come, some maybe leaving and not coming back. Some of the one we are seeing maybe new ones that are showing up and not to old ones we thought we were seeing. Lastly, because of the first thing I mentioned if the way this product works as I mentioned in the beginning, 20 minutes may not be long enough to elicit a response from the bugs sitting on the wood around them. They may simply need more time to get sick of the "electronic irriation signal" that is designed to drive them away. These thoughts are for your consideration. That is it.
You make some great points ... making me want to design and run another test. Thanks for putting your mind to it!
No problem. You've got me thinking now. A good way to test something like this would probably be to have the one of the electronic devices on one end of a large container, room, or long tube where they are visible and seen over time insects (roaches in particular) move to the far end away from the device. Something like that may be close to what should be done. I know it can be hard to perform test under ideal conditions and build what is needed. You almost need materials and space like the myth busters lol!
By the way, I can't speak to rodents. They have never been a problem in the first place for us. Just some insects and possibly arachnids.
I’ve found these useless on mice over longterm use in a real life context
I suspect that the one(s) you have may work on insects over time, but mice, much like raccoons and honey badgers can be super determined and relentless animals. It would take a more specialized device (if it's possible to make one) to deter them regarding sound frequency etc. I doubt very seriously that what is used to deter insects based on sound frequency would do the same to rodents as you are saying here.
Years ago I bought some Black and Deckers repellers for insects, and they really worked. Need some now.
I bought three of these things. They are made by Bell Howard and the model number is 50167...
I'm an electronics technician in the oil and gas industry. I built VFD drives, created logic for PLC's, and just about everything else under the sun pertaining to electricity.
I turned the device on and used a Fluke 123 Oscilloscope so that I could visualize the waveform of the sound, but there isn't one.
Frustrating but not surprising at all. Such a rip off
This needs to be pinned.
But the 555 and the piezo inside do look reasonable. Sigh.
Robert Viers wow

sometimes you need to bring the party to the insects :)
😭😭😭😭😭💀
I made a test of my own which I think was more effective.
I had two ants in separate locations, one in my living room and the other in the kitchen. I had one of those plugged in a kitchen outlet while my living room was devoid of any. The ant in the living room behaved naturally, doing a few circles, locating where to go back to. It never stopped moving as ants don’t take breaks. It eventually ran off in pursuit of its peers.
The one in the kitchen however, that was a different story. I had it isolated on my kitchen table. The bug repellent was about 10 feet away. I immediately started noticing the ant to “groom” itself, or rather it’s antennae. It took pauses, sometimes as long as 15 seconds and just stood there. After it finished skulking I saw it walk in different directions, but remain in a certain area. It seemed to have lost its ability to communicate and find its way back. I noticed a lot of distress with it.
Now I’ve heard plenty of people displeased with these types of products but I have a feeling it works only with time (even though my ant subject was immediately affected by it) since it took a week or two for the ants to finally leave my kitchen. Though I can’t guarantee effectiveness for anyone I have certainly seen that it does indeed mess with the ants’ hearing/signaling. Both ants were 100% healthy when I did this test.
Interesting experiment
Great! So these repellers make the bugs dumb! Now they can’t find their way back home and instead they will just hang out with me because they don’t know what to do in life anymore. These repellers are basically shock therapy that was used in the old days to make people brain dead!
The point is to repel slot of em at same time simple
Both ants were 100% healthy? LOL probably the funniest thing I've read today. Did you give them little ant physicals? Blood tests? EKG? 😉
@@wendylambert2717 he recovered from autism. Be nice
if the repellers didnt work, why didn't you just play the bugs the music you used for this video? that would have worked better.
Pow! Great idea :)
Justin Case Lol !
Zing. Ok that's a good one...
Justin Case funny guy 😆
hohoho so funny
I have read one manual where it says that it takes a week before it shoos away these bugs and rodents and takes a month for what they call "force migration" because they couldn't stand the radiation anymore. I don't know how accurate the manual is.
Yes I've read the same. Except it uses ultrasonic sound waves to repel not radiation.
These ultrasonic repellers tell you it will take a month for it to start working, which is completely false! this is just to wear out the warranty, and infact, it should be less effective after a month because even if ultrasonic actually worked, it would only be a temporary annoyance to pests.
I've wondered about these products, however I would think the ultrasonic sound would work better in an enclosed environment, with more reflective surfaces (meaning soft couches would absorb the sound waves). Also doesn't the packing specify a minimum time limit of 2 or more days to be effective?
Most of them also say not for outside use or best used inside!
I’ve had success with some. I had an ant infestation in the garage. The day after I put a pest repeller in the garage, the next day, I saw the ants moving out. They went outside the garage but wouldn’t come in. A family friend also had an ant invasion and they stopped. We used to get lots of flies and spiders coming in. They flies now just stop still by the window or window frame and don’t fly about the room. Spider visits are now rare and they go away from the plug-in repellers.
Also the garden based repellers with animal chasing sounds have stopped cats and dogs fouling the lawn. If a cat jumps in and triggers the repeller, it soon jumps out again. I bought similar ones for a friend’s garden and they stopped foxes from visiting and fouling their garden. The foxes are too scared to come in.
Interesting. I haven't heard many positive reports like yours, so you must be doing something right. Most folks commenting here and on my other pest repeller videos describe the devices doing nothing at all. Well done!
Bro how many pests do you have in your area😂 flies, spiders, cats, dogs??? You might just have to move out entirely LMAO
After I bought when three week, the device battery dead. Then I change it new quality battery. But device don't expell mouse. Definitely don't recommendation... I have my youtube channel video
I don't know about moths and things. But my kitchen used to swap with cockroaches at night. Roommate put one of these in without telling me and I started telling them how I haven't seen any cockroaches. So definitely not placebic, who knows
I'm not sure if using a lights is going give you the best results for a test. Bugs use lights for navigation. Even if there's something that would repeal them, they are still going to go for the light because they can't tell which direction they are traveling.
The reason i ma
y say why it is not so effective beside the bulb is because bugs are attracted to light from a far, so fresh bugs come while the affected ones leave hence it looks like nothing is happening.
He said they are peanut butter right in front of the device loooool that is HILARIOUS!
can you recommend one that works?
I doubt any of them work
Hi, I never bought one but they say it works sending ultrasound via the house electric plugs circuit, have you tested on a wall plug so it can work as they say and make insects run away from the house?
O yeah, I’ve had them plugged in for years with lots of critters still
If someone is playing dubstep I would never go to that party, but if the dubstep party have free pizza and booze, I will stoically put up with that horrific noise to eat for free.
The point being, if the reward is higher than the cost, it will be worth it. Animals also behave economically.
Dan K but are they smart enough?

I was about to buy it, but then I search for reviews. Thank you for the info.
Oh yeah
Hey you think that them two plug right next to each other the two Frequency could be blocking each other out. And it just became a block party for the Mosquitoes
It’s possible but I think they are just fake scams with no sound at all
Beat drops “go cricket go cricket go! Go cricket! Go cricket go!”
I plugged in six of those in my home and they don’t do anything at all. Even found a nest behind one of the “repellers” its junk and a ripoff.
Yep. That’s been my experience
ahhhh crap, guess i'll try this other trap which is like a lamp but it sucks bugs in...should work in theory haahahaa
Says right on the box "for inside use only". Because the sounds bounces off the walls.
It didn't bother pests inches away, what good an echoed wave will do.
Right then to top it off he has it attached to an extension cord....
Source?
@@albusdumbledore1940 It's on the back of the box. My mom bought a pack of 6 from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and she said she hasn't seen any roaches, pincher bugs, etc since then
metaspencer, could you do an experiment to see if there's any reduction over an extended period of time (say 2 weeks to a month)? It would be interesting to see if that makes a difference.
That's a good idea ... thanks for the tip and I'll try to put it together
These ultrasonic repellers tell you it will take a month for it to start working, which is completely false! this is just to wear out the warranty, and infact, it should be less effective after a month because even if ultrasonic actually worked, it would only be a temporary annoyance to pests.
Thanks for the review. It helps a lot for those who are planning to...
You bet!
I’ve used these in my college apartment and they work great. It takes Time not just 10-15 minutes
I was waiting for this comment.
Do they really work? I brought Bell Howard brand had them for over a month, dosent work
They 48hrs it starts working

It takes 4 weeks for the oval shaped pest repeller to begin working properly. It says so on the net and on the box.
Thats complete bullshit. Its an electronic speaker theres no reason it should somehow take 4 weeks to start working.
And in that amount of time, maybe the season that bug or mouse likes will have passed.

does it work if there is another appliances beside on it in the socket?
I doubt it
They do say it takes 3 weeks or more to work and they bring more out before they go was that included in the test also?
my impression is that those instructions are aimed at keeping you from returning the ineffective gizmos
Looks like all you did was turn the lights into a Rave party!
Insect disco
Finally, after 10 reviews that only film a pluging in the device... this is the kind of review that is worth a look and like! Keep it up man!
Thanks!!
I saw one video where one insect repelle was open up, and there is only a chip with lights, no wonder some of these things don't work. This might be something to go further and see what would be the brands that actually works.
Wow. That’s crazy
Im pretty sure its for roaches
The reason why you seen 10 reviews and none of them actually pluggin in the device is because it takes WEEKS to actually work.
Doing what the creator of the video did is equivalent to taking a fly swatter outside waving it around and then scratching his head and wondering why all of the bugs didn't die/disappear magically. lol. Its like turning on your AC and then after 20 minutes you wonder why your house is still hot. LOL. AGAIN these are for ROACHES/Ants NOT flys, nats and praying mantis's. HAHAHAha
do these emit the same ultrasonic frequency as ultrasonic audio recording jammers? I know my neighbor has been recording me and I want to buy an ultrasonic jammer but I am afraid it could hurt the ears of pets in the building and I don't want to risk that, I just want my privacy back.
That sounds like it would be worth trying, but I doubt that most of these devices emit anything at all
metaspencer lol. I wonder if trying to record audio would reveal whether they're emitting anything at all. there are also lots of repeller apps that let you set the hz too. I don't know if they're reliable against pests at all. I played one at a mouse in my apartment once and he just looked curious.
Thank you for exposing this products as scams. I was interested in them, but suspicious about them, so I'm glad that I found this video. Thanks to this video, I won't be wasting my money on these scams. And please everybody!!!... do not buy this products, they're SCAMS.
You said it
Does it work for mouse
no. total scam
Only works on roaches or bugs with exoskeletons.
Agreed! Had a roach problem in my master bathroom for years and nothing would get rid of them. The roaches would come out at night or when it was really hot! After a few days of installing the Pest Reject, more roaches came out ( as indicated that they would) and afterwards the roaches were gone. I couldn't believe it worked. And there was some good size roaches. Been using it for 2 years plus and yet to see one roach when there was always some there. Although, the light went from red to blue after all these years, not sure what that means?
Nice music in between !!!
haha ... thanks!
does it work even if it's in horizontal position?
dexter anglo no. The directions say it must be vertical.
@@ScienceisRadAF ok. thank you pretty girl ☺️
Not even if it's vertical sorry you have to try returning it and buying good ol bait.
I’m seeing so many mixed reviews!!!! What’s the truth?? Does it j take time for them to work?? Is it that they shld only be used inside??
What I see when I read the reviews are a lot of paid, fake reviews as opposed to actual tests
You are testing with 2 at one time. to see if they are truly working, you needed to check with one at a time. They may be interfering with each other.
blarrrgg I was just about to say the same thing. That’s like using two medicines to combat a runny nose to see if one works. You might dry up the snots and never know which medicine did it. You might continue to have snotting because of drug interaction.
good point!
Have you opened one up to see what is on the inside of them??
In one case it just looked like an LED and nothing else, but I haven't opened them all up ... great idea
Why would you put outside when it says for indoor use? Of course its not gonna work and definitely not in 15-20 mins

Thx so much guys. I was gonna buy these crap and wasted money for nothing
I always knew this product will be junk. My neighbour brought one and yea. It sucks! I warned him not to purchase it.
Yep
I heard people say something like it takes two weeks or something and there's no pest left, can that be possible? Is it normal if they're gone in that much time?
That seems like hype to me. I've had them on in my shop for over a year with no results
@@metaspencer Thank you for replying, what do you suggest as one of the best options to get rid of these? there was a big spider crawled in my home and last seen in my living room somewhere and completely missing.
@@zeeshansyed511 The best method is cleaning, especially vacuuming, to keep all bugs away. Spiders eat other insects so removing as many as you can from the home will help. Good luck!

"This part is silent due to the funky music being copyrighted"
Thank you copyright
It didnt work for me indoors. I used more than a month but no change. Then it stopped emitting light as well.
Such junk. I know
Try it yourself before taking a single review that seriously. These things will take a couple weeks before they'll be effective. The moment you see mice in your home, it means they've already been breeding for at least a few months in places you can't see, and it'll take some time to drive them all away. My brother brought one of these ultrasonic repellers years ago - an old brand - and for years we saw 2-3 rodents when there would've been dozens otherwise. When he left our apartment, the mice came back in huge numbers several months later, and I didn't know why until I realize that he took the repeller with him. I'm getting one of these myself in a couple days. Mouse traps aren't going to help you when the mice have already invaded and left faeces and germs all over your house.

But, this device is for closed spaces use only.... because the "ultrasonic" effect feedback in a closed areas like the kitchen or a room. The ultrasonic loss itself in open spaces.... almost that say in the use instructions...
Doesn't the add say it takes a monthly to get rid of pests
Wait a year and it still won't work
@@metaspencer well the darn trap aren't working either 😕
When i bought mind i was told they wouldn't work outside..i mean it make since...u can contain the sound outside and isn't the sound supposed to radiate throughout the walls
Damn, son, u legit had me worried my phone speakers were broke.
hahaha ... yup
This guy obviously doesn’t know how this product works. From my understanding the waves are supposed to bounce off the walls creating a barrier to drive pests out. It’s not the same if you just hang this thing outside.
These devices have been TESTED by men in their own garages, set up to voltage meters, and they do NOT work and they do NOT put out a frequency.
Ty. Plug in wall unit in the house not on a strip.
It's an ultrasonic speaker. No matter how it's powered, it will do the job.
Think about it. If you can't plug it into a strip, you can't plug it in the wall, well, if you can't plug it into the wall, the electricty must be different at the power plant.
Failed logic.
You know, I had a feeling these things didn't work.
Yeah, trust your gut
They actually do work! Just not instantly... It takes a couple of days to kick in.

These arent meant for exterior use. They need walls and a fairly quiet environment to propogate.

I’ve never seen a good review yet about these pest repellers. So how in the world are they still selling so many for all these years???? So can we make a device that doesn’t work, sell it and not have any consequences? Just curious, because if that’s the case, I’m pretty sure I can come up with a non working item that everyone wants.
You said it ... too many of us want an easy solution that can be simply bought. The bugs continue to win
You are supposed to use these devices inside, it clearly says it on the instructions lol. These things work, as soon as I turned mine on in my back room all of the ants, bugs, and everything started leaving. Buy the Wildjue ultrasonic one on Amazon

The Challenge with your test is that the instructions say it takes 24 hours, try it again for 24 hours.
Oh we’ve tried for months! No difference
we use a bunch in the house. we dont leave peanut butter out. I use multiple pest control methods, no one works entirely. not sure about insects- I have recently employed a cedar oil product . as with any poison keep away from domestic animals and place where intended animals may only reach.
Sounds like you're taking care of the problem!

@@samgod good choice man
Most pest repellers work by creating sounds through the electrical wiring in your house. So mice will be able to walk up to it and bugs will fly around it but once the bug is in the wall they will hear the sounds and run away.
This part ‼️
I used the repeller and it kept my girlfriend away.
Exactly what happened . They screamed and sounded like they were fighting each other to get out my kitchen.
I also don't believe in this Ultrasonic things, a lot of people using it here, against digging mouses, but it don't work 🙈😂
Its gotta be that USB port on one of the units that are keeping them around. Have you ever been in an airport. And seen even people flock to those things.
hahhaha! for sure!

So true. Thanks for checking it out
I need a good insect repellent, which one should I use?
I haven't found one of these electronic gizmos that works at all with insects.
It says not might get worse but then it gets better give it 3 weeks. If you put peanut butter in front of me I’m wasting too 😂
Some say that one needs to wait 1 hr or 1 day or 1 week for this device to perform well? But why? What is the difference? What's the logic behind that behavior? If bugs or dogs can't stand the high frequency sounds then they should go away immediatly.
I agree ... these things don't seem to work at all, in any conditions

Perfect demonstration! Thank you!!!!
Thanks for checking it out!
I was just looking into repellers found out there are sonic versions and under one top-selling device for 2019 I've found under the comments they are mentioning shears mostly, which is very suspicious. it's the DDUAN 2019 newest pest control ultrasonic if you're wondering.
Yes, every repeller I’ve seen on Amazon has great reviews because they sold a different product to get good reviews, so that they can sell these repellers because there’s no way in the world these would ever get good reviews by themselves. It’s like 95% of these on Amazon was once a different product
What about spiders?
There is one additional factor to add. If both were at similar frequencies they could (highly unlikely) be canceling each other out. If we are to be completely scientific in our investigation that must be taken into consideration. In banks sound canceling speakers are placed near teller windows to reduce overhearing between windows. SEE: Active noise control. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_noise_control FYI: regarding your devices there, I have 12 of the smaller ones so I have also tested. In the very beginning it seems the wild rabbits would stay away from my storage area but not now and in fact we have packrats that have gotten into our storage area, I placed 2 of those devices and a 3rd within 10 feet and a packrat built a nest right in front of them.
Interesting and good points
What an awesome video. Well done!
Thanks
They worked for me and helped minimize the spiders. I put 1 in every room and especially by the doors or windows. Had one outside because the moths were horrible. It definitely helped run off the moths. Can't say if it works on other bugs.
THANKS YOU... I SAVED MY MONEY
AHMED KHAN they are for indoor use and take 2-3 weeks to fully affect them. This video proved nothing.
Everyone here is saying you have to wait a couple of days for it to work 🤦🏻♂️
Do you think bugs have a sense of time? Either the ultrasound works at repelling them or it doesn't!
My perspective is that they're just junk. That's it. Junk
It's 4am and i can't sleep
You can't put something's choice foods in front of an electronic repellent. It will do anything to get that food. It'd be a lot different if you just used it normally.
YOU NEVER LEAVE OUT FOOD AND WATER FOR PESTS, THAT IS THE NUMBER 1 RULE!!
Thank you so much for your videos. Saved me lots of money that I don't have.
Definitely!
Do not forget bugs and flies are drawn to light.
Some of those look like bed bugs crawling all over, I'd be worried about that first.
Scary!
pretty sure it says wait a few weeks for it to work
As someone who's owned a few different kinds over past 20 years, I can attest to the fact that none of them work for insects.

Appreciate the video. can i suggest that there be a way to know if those devices are turned on. Thanks again.

Yup. Total scams
Why muted?

Your test Is logical but won't work here, Insects navigates by light, i.e. from the stars, moon and sun so It is a instinctual behavior to seek the light, that's why you see them swarm around and around the hole night, they can't leave! Their whole navigations system is based on these glowing points.
A powerful repeller would, in theory, overpower that light-attractive instinct ... but it doesn't seem that powerful
The light is as the sound a instinctual part from evolution, where sound is there method of navigation, sound is there warning signal, but to get away, they navigate after light, so bad circle:-)
@Fried Mule Stop it. It just doesn't work.
Stop trying to come up with these ridiculous rational explanations.
Mine made a huge difference.
mine seems to work
Mines to this people's houses must have bad infestations
Thank you ! I knew that was too good to be true about these things !
So it's a scam?
Seems like it
