Her parents did such a good job in raising her and providing the space for her to decide and carve her own path and narrative and protect her from the industry, ve. using her as a check like a lot of parents. They made sure she knew what the main thing was.
Zendaya to me seems like she has deep long conversations all the time. She seems very in tune with herself & about who she is. Issa is right she is very confident, gotta love that about zendaya 😩❤️
Not true at all. Have you seen any other interviews with Zendaya prior to this, she is extremely well versed and sociable. Not even sure what you picked up on here 🤔
Introverts are usually fine having one-on-one in depth conversations. We tend to dislike having to be fake nice in a superficial way to a crowd of people.
I just love how Issa Rae is so authentic in her interviewing skills and when she asks questions she actually wants to hear the answer and learn from it! Such an open minded person
I can totally relate to Zendaya. As a introverted extrovert myself, I have a love- hate relationship with small talk. I don’t enjoy it but at the same time small talk is the only way to get into the deeper topics when it comes to meeting strangers. I hope to get better at it someday.
I'm the same way, and it took a while but I learned the key is to get to something deeper sooner than later by letting the other person talk about themselves and asking questions that lead away from the usual drudge of small talk.

There was a LOT of awkward silent moments after Zendaya would cracked a joke. She's so sweet and clearly uses humor to get through social connections. I'm an introvert, too and really enjoying seeing her rise.
I think confidence is formed when you do exactly what you want to do. Alot of people are doing things to impress others or what they think they should do or what they've seen someone else do but when you naturally take your own path, I think that's where confidence blooms

Her work ethic, or approach to progression is exactly mine. As a hairstylist, I’ve taken a very gradual pace to my work, by not just taking on everything at once. For example, right now, I’m only working on haircuts, refining my craft. Learning different textures, and making sure that when I do start color, I have nothing to worry about when it comes to cuts. I can focus on coloring, and perfect that without the stress coming from also feeling inadequate in my cuts. I feel like this method has minimized my mistakes, and has really allowed me to hone in on my skills and confidence. It seems Zendaya takes very thought out and deliberate steps to minimize situations or roles that aren’t ideal for her growth as a creative. She doesn’t take a step, until she knows where her foot will fall. Very validating for me to see that in someone with the success of her magnitude. Maybe I am doing it the smart way. Also, I do love how she used fashion as a segue into the post-Disney phase of her career. For me, fashion has worked similarly. Hair is part of the fashion industry, in fact, it’s as important as the clothes. So, I definitely like to look the part. *sigh* Zendaya is just so inspiring, intelligent, confident and amazing how can you not love her. I can't forget about Issa I love her too. They're both earth signs and so am I another reason why I love them.
This just goes to show that all the labels we place on ourselves "introverted" "extroverted" etc...are boxes and they limit us, because we can all learn and be different especially when our relationships or our bags depend on it. Be like water!
I cried when she spoke about the anatomic object. My uncle left me his car after he died from Covid and I related how she said her mom drove it until it hit the bucket. I think that’s why identify with her Rue character so much. Younger me with that much loss with our spiraled the way she did. The emotions she displays at Rue just makes you appreciate Zendaya and allowing us to really take in her own experience and emotions. So it’s really inspiring to know that as introverted she is, she was able to release that part of her to us as an audience. So much respect. 🤌🏽
I Can positively relate to Zendaya. In her shyness I remember being 10 years old in 5th grade and have young girls at my age would try to talk to me or start an Conversation and my social anxiety and shyness got in the way so i was always that quiet kid. But thanks to my parents they helped me a lot with therapy they helped me to open up to a side I don’t mention a lot. I was lost and I had to learn my way to cause I can’t grow up being quiet you know.
Yes to be able to excel in fashion and the arts 🎭 she’s definitely a force. Allow ourselves to feel and live through the characters that will make us all better ppl!
Zendaya is a definition of two individuals from different ethnicity that genuinely fell in love each other, their offspring is always a reflection of their love. Her dad wasn’t a self hating bm and her mom either. U can really tell biracial kids born out of fetishisation from both parents.
Interesting take. I am mixed race myself. My parents were in love and are still together. It wasn't about fetishes, they fought to prove their love to haters... like even in their own families.
@@gjcanada7454 I said there’s a difference between biracial born out of fetishisation.Read and understand properly please.. I said two individuals from different ethnic ground that genuinely fell in love tend to have long lasting happy relationships which extend into their biracial children.
I just want to take the time to acknowledge the beautiful women of color in the audience and on stage! All of them are absolutely gorgeous and all of them have a palpable confidence and beauty that radiate through the screen.
I love her so much. I’m also just an awkward fucking weirdo. An she’s so down to earth it’s so refreshing the ADHD ITS AMAZING. The duality between her characters and her in a candid setting should tell you she has the gift. How she goes from this to Rue? Insane.
I'm about to re-watch Euphoria in preparation for the new season this month and I am so excited to look for all the details Zendaya mentioned in this interview. It's mind boggling all the little details and thought that goes into each scene.
Zendaya has shown me that it's okay not to hide. She facilitated revealing myself internally and with reference to my physical appearance. I've never felt so free before, and she inspires me with her natural beauty and personality. Now that I'm more myself than the person that I want to be, people are starting to like me more and they gravitate around me with a more welcoming atmosphere. Thanks Zendaya

This just goes to show that all the labels we place on ourselves "introverted" "extroverted" etc...are boxes and they limit us, because we can all learn and be different especially when our relationships or our bags depend on it. Be like water!
I really should be watching Zendaya interviews. She’s so wise and intelligent. ❤️
Issa is so funny. Love her 😂😂
these types of interviews / conversations are so refreshing!🦋
You know,…i am here because i binged EUPHORIA in 2 days. Zendaya is an amazing actress. I am now a fan!
What made you want to watch? and why so late? 😆
As a introverted barber whew i needed this gem! Thanks!
Smaller but elevated roles! Thank you Zendaya! ❤️🔥
That's very true. Such a smart and self-assured young woman
@@omaphils421 Yes. I was agreeing ?? Did you read my comment lol?
@@omaphils421 I'm saying I relate to her lol ??
I just want to take the time to acknowledge the beautiful women of color in the audience and on stage! All of them are absolutely gorgeous and all of them have a palpable confidence and beauty that radiate through the screen.
She is sooo on point with the small talk thing. I take the same approach! Not as good as her but I realized the same thing and try and implement it.
This was so empowering both ladies are down to earth and I loved how engaging they were. A lot was taken in from this talk
This was an amazing interview and Zendaya has an authenticity about her.
Sidebar: Tupac was not born in Oakland. He was born in NY.
Right on!
Yeah I was thinking I might have heard her wrong
Z is dropping jewels...
We must know how to play the game!
Much respect...
You're helping this 41 year old navigate corporate america
❤️🙌🏼
I love this young Queen! Thanks for bringing her to us on your platform. ❤️
Issa Rae is a born comedian and God I love Zendaya
Been waiting for this to post... I was the one that said "oomf" when she mentioned small talk😂🤣😂 I felt it.
Zendaya is very talented she can choose music or acting she's blessed with both talents and not many can pull it off
She’s strategic and realistic. Taking notes 📝
This was such a surprise! She's so talented and down to earth!
I love her so much. I’m also just an awkward fucking weirdo. An she’s so down to earth it’s so refreshing the ADHD ITS AMAZING. The duality between her characters and her in a candid setting should tell you she has the gift. How she goes from this to Rue? Insane.
That’s so true, as an introvert I had to master asking questions.
Her story is heartwarming and inspiring.
