I love all your video you have helped me out in so many ways I just got into plants last year and I can't stop they bring ne so much joy thank you for all the great videos
This is great..Ive been pondering what on earth to make hoya trellises from! I bought 4 hoyas and threw them all straight into leca after watching you do it, lol, and they're all thriving! 😁 I'l be heading off to bunnings to get me some aluminium rods. Thanks
Beautiful! Can't wait for some more of my plants to be ready to transfer to leca:) Just check and I can pick up these rods at Home Depot in US for $5.50 each. Can get a bit cheaper at Lowes in US but none of my local stores have them in stock. Thank you for sharing this technique - something I can surely do.
I just started converting half of my hoya collection to leca tonight then I discover your channel. New subscriber!!!! 🖤my Hoyas do soooooo good in leca and grow super quick. I'm over soil.
Hi Nora. I’ve just bought my first few Hoyas arriving in a couple of days and although they are only small starter plants I need to decide which medium I’m going to grow them in. I have a lot of orchids in leca and just started putting some houseplants into it as well. Is there a good time to transition Hoyas to leca and is there anything in particular I should know before I get started? I’m so glad I found this video at a perfect time. I look forward to your reply.
@@TheLecaQueen want to know , I am only going to owe maybe 2 or 3 Hoyas that's it. So is leca worth it. I have many hobbies and don't need another. Be honest.
@@yvonnevigil7489 What can I tell you! Look at my channel. I am all about leca. I believe in it and my plants are evidence that it works. I love Hoyas and have over 80 of them (tbh, probably more) all living in leca and loving it. The only reason I would say don't do it is if you do not want another hobby. But this is a great hobby!! Come join us on the leca side!
I have never used leca. I have my mother's 60+ uear old Hoya. Poor girl has only bloomed twice in all that time! Mom never trellised her. I am trying to get her started on one. I think Mom must have kept her trimmed, as she doesn't have any long vines. I have all my Hoya in quick draining soil, but I i am curious to try leca now!
I wish I could have seen this video before ! All my hoyas not doing well at all ! I did not know about lecca! May I ask which works better ? Lecca or lechuza pon ? Please help me to save my hoyas !
I have not used pon before so I am not in a position to compare. All I know is leca works very well and is cheaper than pon, at least here in Australia anyway.
Videos I have watched says when u trellis the vine downwards the vine will die. The hoya will then shoot out a new vine at the highest point of the trellis.
I don't know about the experience that person has with their Hoyas but I have a grow tent full of Hoyas on trellises that are thriving and flowering with no dead vines in sight. So for me that is my evidence 😏 😉. All the best growing your Hoyas. 😊
Oooh and I’ve always been told to never trellis them down. They will die at the down turn and start a new shoot. I trim the woody pieces because they’ve died off. I trellis from left to right going up. It give a fuller look and there is No visibility in the middle of the trellis
Thatis an interesting perspectve. I have not had this happen with the ones I alreadyhave on a trellis and I see lots with theirs on a trellis. Thanks for the trellising tip!

You are truly a leca queen, with all the big leaves living in moss poles, I like how it looks so easy to make a trellis that way.

I bought the 36 inch threaded ones that are 1/8 inch and works great. I dip mine in plastidip - wasn’t sure if the metal was good for the plants
Anyone know what size this is in US?
You are the best Queen
