I love the splatoon community for these little moments. It feels like we're not that competitive and know that the servers are crap, so if anything happens, it's ok to just stop and party for a little bit.
Same!!! this wasnt during the splatfest but once i had a match where i was the only one on my team who didnt disconnect so i just squid partyed with the rest of the opposing team, there was even one person who seemed kinda hesitant to join the squid party but ended up joining in anyway, it was great- i was giggling the whole time lmao
It's almost terrifying how they disappear into smoke 😅 I do love the collective Splatoon culture of politely having fun partying when the game glitches tho. It really makes me happy in the community
They probably all got that warning about how further disconnects may result in temporary suspensions from online the next time they tried entering the queue, too.
Reminds me of Splatoon 2, where in the span of 30 seconds, the opponent's team had a disconnect at the start of the match, followed by a quit because of the disconnect. The splash got to mid, but got into a 3v1, and ragequit. Seeing that, the last guy disconnected. Look at that, no enemies. Two and a half minutes of squid party.
once in turf the entire other team disconnected except one guy and i and at least one other guy went up to his spawn to party and keep him company for the rest of the match. think he thought we were there to bully him at first but he caught on quick. one of my favorite splatoon memories
I had this happen to me but couldn't see the other player so I assumed they were in a glitched state and the game would kick me out soon enough, so I went to the middle to claim the beacon for fun and immediately got splatted by them as they'd been hiding in the ink waiting for me. I'd have happily squid partied but clearly they weren't in the mood. XD
This happened to me once on ranked, where it was just me and this e-liter left on splatzones. Me n mg friends were doing a joke team comp so we were obviously getting our asses kicked, but in the last minute everyone disconnected except for me and an eliter on the opposite end. We just squid partied for the last minute of the match lmao
@@mangochkn I’ve had 6 disconnects in the middle of the match and then a communication error occurs because too many people left, but yes if one person disconnects in the middle of a round it won’t end
Not splatfest related, but this did happen yesterday. I was on a ranked match and everyone except me and someone from the other team disconnected. We kinda just gooned around the rest of the match, classic Nintendo lmao. (Code is RXRY-TPT6-NEGQ-RSG8 if anyone wants to see it for whatever reason.)
That happened to me was doing really good during Splatfest an my internet is great enough for WOW and COD and HALO and ESO but for Splatoon 3 during the middle of a match..... *Communication Error Has Occurred* F**k Me!
I got 40 mins time out twice and it’s only in Splatfest that I get this. 💀 I had to miss out a major chunk of Splatfest because the internet just won’t let me play
I would love a sorry button for moments like this bcuz I had a similar thing happen but when I went to dance with the person I splatted them 😭 i jumped off the map but I still wanted to apologize
This reminds me of the one of my tri colors half of my team team water disconnect and 1 persons on fire the sad thing is grass was so bad fire got the ultra signal but grass didn’t
Also I forgot to mention team fire only got the ultra signal once and if thanos did not snap his fingers then team fire would not have been able to get the ultra signal

I'm convinced when one person disconnects, the game attempts to rebalance the game by disconnecting enough players to make the game fair.
Maybe. I think me or the other player from team fire was the host player, and our internet connections were the best, so we stayed in.
Usually when everyone disconnects except for two people, it's the host who has bad wifi.
It's funny how now we can tell if you beat hero mode or no on the round end screen
