If they try to kill you, it’s probably because they think you are going to kill them. If they try to kill you, just start partying a bit to show that you’re friendly. Then go back to inking
Nintendo should just make a mode that's 100% dedicated for squidparties where all players are on the same team, so you don't even have to worry about getting back-stabbed. Squidparties in regular battles don't always work when you want them to because some people just want to play the game normally. But if you're actually trying to squidparty in ranked battles then just *stop it*

This is why I got Splatoon 2. And on one of the first games I ever played, one guy (An Octoling) on the other team, created a heart for me(An Inkling at the time) But then he found me in the next few matches and made me hearts. That was my introduction to Splatoon 2. I still remember him well. We ended up having squid parties and we looked off into the horizon on the Manta Maria. It was amazing.

I am cool with squidpartiers, sometimes I wish party with them or not if im not in the mood. I never try to splat one knowingly. Something I picked up from an old group I had in splatoon 1 was if you accidentally splatted a party squid then you splat yourself to show your sorry. No idea if this is something people actually do or if that was just my friend groups thing but I still do many years later even in Splatoon 3. Just a habit I guess.
I'm a competitive person bit when I see squid parties I usually join in most of the time. (Unless it's ranked it's splat or be splatted in that case.) There has been a few instances where I have accidentally splatted somebody before I've realized that they just wanted to vibe. It's always the most brutal splats too for some reason.
I like squid parties but the only thing I don't like about them is when I'm trying to level up my gear and they splat me for trying to ink turf. Like bruh I'm not doing anything to yah so why you gotta splat me. 😅

I recently was playing splat 3 with a friend and after getting ruthlessly murdered a ton the next round I decided to run to the center and party I got the ENTIRE enemy team partying with me and my team whiped them I managed to do this twice in a row and then went back to playing normally Usually I don't cause I know people want to play normally but sometimes its fun to do something else instead of splatting. The enemy team all joined in so no one was mad on that team, and my team won by a landslide so I doubt they were mad too haha
My best squid party was on that map everyone hates for rainmaker where 6 people including me just got on an uninkable platform and started doing whatever and then someone telepathically told everyone that we should all start super jumping to eachother constantly and that was the best match ever.
