- Altgang! What's good, in this video I react to NF No Excuses. Really enjoyed this one but definitely had some thoughts on where this song could be improved. I'm really loving The Search album so far torn between this and Perception.

I agree that the choruses can feel a bit repetitive but when ur listening while doing something draining like working out its actually great because u dont have to use any brain power and it still feels motivating😂

Again, this is one of those songs where it could have been INSANE with a video alongside it, BUT... with this in mind, I must say that the anonymous feeling of it leaves your mind to roam and just imagine things. I just love this song, and though its a lot of repetition, it just means a lot and carries a lot of weight. Anyways... Yey.

In that same Zane Lowe interview he basically says he writes his albums with the idea to tour it, not in those exact words but that's what it comes down to. Don't get me wrong I get that it can get repetitive but keeping that mind the repetition makes sense since Outcast, Options and No Excuses are some of the most fire performances! I've heard/read multiple people say Outcast isn't one of their favourite songs to casually listen to but in a live setting with a hyped crowd it's a different expierence and one of their favourite bits of the show.
(re the chorus/hook comment) I agree, and I think that's why I love Returns so much, it's just straight baaaaars. Appreciate your perspective as always man. Excited for you to do 'Hate Myself'.

A lot of people talk about how some of his hooks are repetitive on some songs but I love it because it gets me hype! I think he does it sometimes with his concerts in mind because these hooks are fire when he is live.💯💥

I agree with your assessment of the chorues. They CAN be repetitive. (Since I'm new to the genre of Rap, though, I just assumed this is how they "do" chorsues in Hip Hop. LOL) He has a couple of good choruses, but overall, I'd rather he just skip them. Appreciate the rest of your review, as well

Yeah when it comes to adding more conceptual music I hope he talks about the character anger since he 'hasn't dealt with him yet'. Maybe it'll be a nice mixture of the flow you were talking about at the end and story telling
NF never disappoints but that’s just how I feel about.

I think people who are critical of melancholy don't spend a lot of time pondering the universe. I could argue that NF's music is ultimately uplifting because it is cathartic.

Agee 110% some of his choruses are just a little to repetitive, still good music artistry. He is damn good at "painting" a picture and drawing you into the song. Love your rap analyses, very insightful compaired to most.
