I'm happy that Detroit actually tried with their RR2.0 jersey. The unique touches with the Alt captain and captain letters going on a diamond on the jersey was probably the best part of the jersey.

The logo that the blues use on their jersey was the actual logo that was shown by the team owners when they announced the team. The logo was never used though and was changed to the normal note that is used today before they started playing.
Our RRs need to come back. Ovi got a boost everytime we wore them. Legit i think he scored in every game we wore them and he passed Howe in them
What Ovi wants, Ovi usually gets. I wouldn't be surprised if Caps brass elects to bring them back down the road, maybe when Ovi's knocking on Gretzky's door.

As a caps fan if they do another screaming Eagle one more time I would like to see a bronze inverse jersey. Cuz from Kuempers pads before the actual release, I thought it would be a bronze look but I love the actual 2.0 jersey as a caps fan
I wanted them to use bronze instead of the black. No one has ever worn bronze. So I would have welcomed it.

Super happy to see the robo penguin near the top. I might have bumped anaheim up a bit, vegas and Florida down a bit, but otherwise this was a pretty solid ranking order.

You routinely remind us you don’t like Johnny Canuck. However, in terms of your retro ranking, this is the Vancouver Canucks jersey of their pre-NHL team and deserves a better consideration.
I don't say things like that to remind people, I say it for the new viewers because people routinely ask me questions like that. "Why don't you like ______", "What's your favorite team?", etc.
Their black and orange jerseys are infinitely better

It's surprising the Kraken is so low. It's very likely they are saving a Metropolitans style jersey for the Winter Classic. So using it here would have messed up what they do for the Winter Classic. The original Blues prototype had exactly the same logo as what you see now. They weren't going to alter the original logo.
The Red Wings retro (red with black stripes) is actually quite impressive when the team wore it for the games. It made them look bigger.
I think this ranking is just perfect. I always loved the Robo Penguin logo and don’t understand the hate for it. As a fellow graphic artist and logo designer, I think it’s way better than the skating penguin. Simple, straight and clear whithout being ”too little”.
Have to disagree with you about the Pens jersey. Just brings back memories of playoff failures when they were favorites and Howard Baldwin running the team into the ground and filing for chapter 11. Never liked the Robo-pigeon
I also like it more than the skating penguin.
As a Caps fan, I think Reverse 1.0 BLOWS Reverse 2.0 out of the water. 2.0 IS GOOD, but slightly disappointed me because it's just a re-coloured version of 1.0.

I got 3 RR 2.0 jerseys of my local teams in the New York metropolitain area, Tri-State Area NY/NJ, die hard NY Sports fan, the Adidas Rangers RR 2.0 jersey, the Adidas Islanders RR 2.0 jersey, and the Adidas Devils RR 2.0 jersey and all 3 look good in person and I also got the matching beanie knit hats to match the jerseys when I wore them. The Rangers RR 2.0 jersey love that they added their own colors of royal blue and added the red striping on the sleeves, the Islanders RR 2.0 jersey loved that they brought back the Fisherman logo the logo looks so good in the Adidas PrimeGreen but wished they would of added the Lighthouse on the shoulders, and a better wave, but I do agree I didn't like how they did the wave it doesn't connect on the jersey. Finally the Devils RR 2.0 jersey like that they did went back to history of the Kansas City Scouts and Colorado Rockies colors on the jersey very bright looking but not a bad jersey overall.
Arizona should have one w/the shoulder moon logo in the middle as the main logo, w/purple, black & that awesome off-white moon color.
The goathead logo is actually the new logo from Buffalo
Boston, Montreal, New Jersey Isles , San JoseFlorida Buffalo all should wear those sweaters forever. Oilers good Caps good , only really week ones Canes Rangers Jackets.
Neil, I agree with most of your points. However, I am curious why you think that blue would have worked better than black for the Caps RR 2 jersey. I only ask because you ragged on Carolina for not really leaning into the RR concept, and the same could be said of the Caps if they had used blue as the primary for the RR 2, as blue had been the primary dark color the first time the screagle was used.
They made the right decision on the black, but 'series' aside, I think the blue would have been a better jersey in general, ignoring the 'reverse' nature.
Not using blue was the correct decision. The original already had blue.
I think Seattle is saving the Metropolitans kits for their upcoming Winter Classic game against Vegas
That tampa jersey is my fav jersey of all time. I just pictured stamkos taking a one timer and the lightning on the sleeves become visible.
Oilers coming back with the Todd McFarlane logo was so awesome. That logo symbolizes a more gritty Oilers than we were ever used to, and for fans of my and your age it obviously represents a link to the 2006 Western Conference Champions, which drew a whole new generation of Oilers fans.

The Blackhawks and Red Wings RR 2.0 jerseys basically copied from one another and both jerseys deserves to be in the bottom of the list of the RR 2.0 jerseys list
I don’t get why everyone is upset about that but no one is clowning Dallas and Columbus having the exact design jersey and they even both have a huge star logo on them lol they are even closer then Detroit and Chicago ones are
I do agree with Neil the Hurricanes RR 2.0 jersey deserves to be last it's really not a Reverse Retro it's a basically a copy of their away jersey and added red on the jersey it's boring

Hard to disagree or even rank a top 8 or so since the good ones are all on the same level to me. I just can't stop thinking about the Devil's one and if they would recolour the logo with a bit of yellow it would jump from my 10th straight to no. 1

@@brizzybones7377 None of that is true. Lacrosse and football jerseys have giant numbers on the front. And the rest of the equipment is different. No one is mistaking a hockey jersey from something in an entirely different sport.
Kind of surprised the Canes are last....but not really...it wasn't retro...they were still wearing the white one it's based on.
Blues jersey ranked way too low in my opinion.
Oilers sucks so bad. I wouldn't wear it if someone gave it to me. I like the Capitals. But the red version is still better. The capital dome would have been a better option here.
The Habs jersey is nice but on the ice it looks like they are wearing scrubs and it’s all I can see

Senators and predators I’d rank much lower. That sens logo is probably the worst of all time. Really bad illustrative skill which includes scads of unimportant visual detail floating around a boring head.
The preds logo is too detailed and somehow juvenile and the triangle makes no sense. Triangle logos almost always look arbitrary. At least that pens robotic bird one is illustrated in straight lines and everything connects to the triangle. That makes sense. Usually it’s just a triangle with an unrelated illustration inside it. See sharks and old pens logo.
I’d put the Canucks, Stars, Islanders, Jets and Oilers lower too.
Canucks logo: too detailed, busy and juvenile. No point of impact.
Stars logo: boring lettering with a static star outline. Nothing large enough to have an impact and nothing engaging. Bland as heck.
Islanders logo: fish sticks company logo. Again, too much detail, no impact.
Jets logo: modern, more bland version of a busy 1970’s clip art concoction. Much like old Islanders logo.
Jets jersey: such bland colour.
Oilers logo: as an Oil fan, always was embarrassed by this logo: industrial paisley. Juvenile cartoon of a “kickass”, speeding blob with childish, tech-y convolutions to make the blob more macho. And there’s something clunky about the jersey too.
I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOUR OPINIONS ABOUT THE SENATORS AND JETS LOGOS MORE. Both are also incredibly dated.
Oilers logo looks like some goofy comet falling from outer space. I'm shocked there are actually some that somehow like. I want to light it on fire every time I see it.
