    I live in Louisiana I have been having this issue for the last several days. I thought the issue may be all of this damn humidity we have. So far so good it has fixed the problem so far. thank you.

    So I mentioned that back in June I was troubleshooting an issue with my firmware update where the Drone and Remote would lose the RClink every time the power was cycled. During the process of troubleshooting I had a in-flight battery fire and spent several months talking to DJI (that is a story all by itself).
    Once I got my drone and battery back I tried to fly the new drone and had the same RClink issue. So after troubleshooting once more I was able to discover that hidden menu you showed in this video. It was mentioned deep in the DJI forums (Ken knows I love to research stuff). Of special note if you do not power up the drone and just power up the remote it will display the remote firmware value and let you update it. And of course if you power up the drone it shows both and allows you to apply any updates stored in the app. What I discovered was my remote firmware would not update. So the drone and remote were on different versions which was what caused the RClink failure each time I powered them on.
    So far all the tricks and tips I have found did not fix the issue and DJI has requested that I send my remote and drone to them so they can duplicate the issue and fix it. They are gonna swap out the remote I am certain but.......I don't want to assume :). I'll let you know the results when I get the "Gooneybird" back later next week.

    I recently updated my firmware on my Advanced 3 and since then, I am basically locked into 'beginner mode' in Class B. May have to try to get back to the old firmware?

    I had same issue this summer when I updated the software on iPad mini, I had to go back a software version and all was good again.

    Can you please explain how the cables have to be connected, cause when I click on refresh tells me connect the drone direct to mobile device and then gives me the error on the phone screen

    I am having the issue with my P3A after doing last available update. No connection with the app. Tried different phones, different cables nothing works. I can fly and control the drone just no app. Replaced the usb board that did not help. Just got it few weeks ago, used but only flown once. Any idea who I can send it to to fix without costing me more than I paid for the whole bundle. Thanks love your videos.

    Hi Ken, you know I had exactly the same problem and found out it was just the USB connection. A cable that had been working fine suddenly decided to STOP. Changed cable Wala Problema as they say here. Interesting to see the way to refresh the software though, thanks to your buddy also

    Ken, I know this video is a little over 4 months old. Are you stillusing the same firmware listed in this video for your controller? Im having that same issue on mine. Im being told my iPad cant handle the video signal.

    How do you get the refresh button to appear. I got the same black screen you have in the video after holding the three bars for 5-10 seconds. But I cannot press anything to start a refresh. It looks just like your screen. How did you start the refresh? Thanks.

      If you're not getting the screen, something else might be wrong.
      But you can try unplugging- plugging in the controller while the screen is black.

    Hello ken. I bought ipad 9.7 (2018) 6th gen. my p4p version 01.04.0602 and mavic pro version 01.04.0000 but both of them have choppy and lag when flew to area of houses (WIFI). APP latest 4.2.16. Both of them need update firmware to match app latest update? I am first time to buy ipad 9.7 2018. i am out of idea

    The problem was introduced when they implemented multispectral. At that point the versions must match up (either pre-multispectral, or post on both). DJI really has not been supporting older units very well. This shouldn't be that difficult, but it turns out that it is causing headaches for a lot of people.

    Hey man I have a phantom 4 on top of my application it just says no signal. I can't figure this out PLEASEEEE HELP!! The Drone connects to the app.. the gimbal moves when I use the control switch on left hand side of remote.. the compass is calibrated firmware updated yet it still says no signal and I'm getting no footage from my camera at all. It's just blank.. any suggestions?
    On my app it also says (poor) under radio channel. It bounces poor to good.

    So is the drone turned on when you update the controller? Because the only way I can get a version update to pop out is when the drone is turned off. But when both are turned on it says an error and that I have to start both of them.

      This is not the normal way to update the controller. Use the regular firmware update software on your computer and it should do it automatically. If you're still having problems then take it to a local hobby shop that has an authorized DJI repair shop. Good luck!

    I know on my phantom 4 pro + I am/was having issues with my controller beeping and saying firmware abnormal. I clicked in it tonight to check it out and it told me my controller needed recalibrate. I had to shutdown the drone and run the calibration for the controller and it took care of the message. We will see how it flies next time. I know the last two times (one of the videos I sent you) it didn't want to fly straight.

    Ken, are you able to fully charge your RC ? I saw you were at 70%. I had an issue where after each firmware update my RC would show less and less of a charge. I eventually had to mail it in for repair. Took a month including shipping.

    I also have that issue of green lines and red with black and white color on my tello's saved video, when i downloaded the tello app, a firmware update has been shown on the screen of the app controller, i downloaded it but ignored the update on tello, and when I've watched my saved videos on tello, that green and red lines are there. I hope its just the update,your video has given me a chance to try this task. Hope it will work on me.

      @@KenHeron sir, unfortunately the firmware update did not install on tello, because the wifi keeps on cutting and the tello drone overheats very fast during the update, i don't know if its an issue on my android phone compatibility, I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with 5.0 ios.

    I've tried it as well (since I've had nothing but problems with that horrible firmware update for the P4), but it kept failing to download and then would just lock up. I'm glad to know that some people aren't having as many issues as I seem to be with my P4. It's so bad I haven't been flying at all and, of course, DJI isn't offering any type of solution. Grrrrrr, I've got an expensive paperweight that used to be a lot of fun to fly and would actually fly good. Sorry, venting is done for now...

      Do you know of a fix? I've tried everything I could find (most people say that in order to roll back you need to flash the old firmware and I'm a bit hesitant to do that cuz I don't want to brick it). It's very frustrating and I wish DJI would just issue a fix for it.

      wippo76 No thanks, I'm not going to do any firmware flashing. I've heard to many stories of how things didn't go right. If it's not an official fix from DJI it can stay in the case until there is one. Thanks though.

    And then I connect it to the pc to update it but it refused to be connected to the pc
    So I lifted for 6 months .
    Today I tried and it was ok by itself except the camera no image 🇰🇼

    Ken, thank you so much for sharing this! This issue was driving me crazy, I even post it on dji forum (forum.dji.com/thread-116921-1-1.html) but people said to me that this was normal.
    Although my live feed glitch problem appears to be smaller than yours, I will try this asap!

    Awesome! I have issues saving to Android. When my SD is full I have no choice but to save on phone cache. When I try to download file to my Mac and play it as an mp4 I get the green screen of death on the file. Using ph4 pro. Any one else experience this?

      You can check the DJI website for new updates.

      Ken Heron Thanks. I tried rolling the controller back a couple of versions then lost pairing with the aircraft. I tried the pairing method and then controller start flashing three different colours. Red. Orange and green very fast. I eventually went into the Go app and re installed the latest version again. I'll try again tomorrow. Keep up the good work. 👍

    Mine didn't work, it said accessory not supported. Do I need to connect the remote to the phone or the drone to the phone? It tells me to connect the drone direct to the mobile phone, so I disconnected the phone from remote and plugged into drone and it gave me the error,

      +JP Matatan You will need to attach The drone directly to your tablet or phone. If you are getting an error, it's quite possible your doing it in the wrong order. Go back and watch my video and follow the steps and it will probably work. If after that it does not work, try using a different device. But make sure you always have an Internet connection as it needs to download software to make this complete. Good luck!

    Hey Guys I Have Same problem
    Just Do one thing
    1. go to App Store download DJIgo
    2. Connect mobile with remote
    3. don't on remote
    4. open app in mobile
    5. go to right corner and hold 10 sec
    6. Now on remote
    7. you get the version selection menu
    8. select the down version
    9. download
    here you go......
    I got the solution after 20hrs. Continuous finding this solution and got the result
    so enjoy guys....I really happy ......

    It wont work :( I tried it a thousand times but it doesn't even update it through it stops at around 87% of the installation and doesn't go anywhere until battery runs out from 80 to 90%

    I have a phantom 4 pro plus and I have an issue where the map does not load. I live in the United States. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

      You need to give the app permission to use location, and you need to have WiFi on OR load map prior to going where you'll be flying.

      Just going off my memory, sitting in my hotel room... but here goes:
      Open up the map.
      Lock the map by touching the "north" pointer. You should see the little lock icon on top of the pointer.
      Close Go4.
      Now restart Go4. The map should now load normally.
      I think this is all you have to do... very simple fix. I hope I didn't forget anything, as i said this is from memory. I had the exact same issue with mine, this fixed it. Found this solution on the dji forum... it is on there.

    I fixed it by doing a complete factory reset of the iPad Mini 4 and then only install the latest DJI GO app on my iPad. I had all sorts of stuff (KittyHawk, Litchi and other drone related apps). I was frustrated as you, Ken, and my final resort (software guy as I am) thought - heck - let's do a complete reset and it worked...

      Reset on the iPad? Or the drone? Tell me what you did cause I'm having the same problem, when I click on refresh on my phone tells me to connect it directly to drone, so I disconnected from remote and plugged to drone, and then said accessory not supported 😡 what else can I do?

      Complete factory reset on the iPad. Install DJI go app again. Update flight database if the GO app asks for it. Then the green stuff went away.

    I will try it on my mavic mini 2
    Not working on ipad mini 4 and samsung galaxy s10 lite, i can put finger on 3 bars evet 1min and extra menu not appear :(
    Edit 2: i know where is problem, its not about DJI, its phone/tablet dual core problem, its to weak, you need chage smartphone/tablet. Or try close every app, only DJI Fly should be open.

      I can't be sure, but it might have been corrupted by the massive RF interference of the TV tower from last week.
      (My theory anyway.)

    I was having a similar problem with all the Android tablets, getting that screwy screen. I then broke down and tried the Apple Air 2 tablet and voila! The problem was gone...

      I'm loyal to Android but there seems to be far more problems with the Android go 4 app then the Apple products seem to be having. I'm thinking of getting the iPad Air 2 or the 5th gen iPad. I'm glad I came across your post to reinsure my investment.

      Android and iPad talk to the App in different ways. This firmware is for the controller, so it won't have much to do with the tablet.
      (I use an iPad Air, as Android is not the preferred "flavor" of tablet for DJI.)

    Good to know..hold down 10 seconds.....even I can handle that kind tech stuff.what would be really cool is if drones had there own partition with the frequencies instead of 2.4 and 5.8 ( busiest frequencies in the world) 3.2 or 9.7 or something......think of the range and clarity..

    I had a whole load of poo/shizzle nonsense with my pro.. 64gb sd card when it gets too 16.3gb causes gamble lock, no focus and general sick drone syndrome (bit like man flu but not as bad) still waiting for DJI software people to sort.... happy daze..

      Yep, only found out it was the card when I put the original 16gb card back in, thought one more go and bingo all good. Put the 64gb card back in, sick drone. DJI say they have loaded a Beta version of the firmware fix to my account, haven't had the time to try it yet.. At least they have seen the fault or know about it. top good Samsung cards too..

      White Go App screen.
      Hold down 3 line thingy top right corner for 5-10 secs.
      Choose REFRESH.
      Done.
