      Edit:
I am still researching the current FCC equipment Authorization Rules. Back in 2022 there was this question: "Whether the Commission should revoke authorizations held by entities on the Covered List, and the procedure for revoking authorizations, if adopted." Back then, they did not revoke previous authorizations. Clearly they were looking into it though. I am not sure what the current state of the rules are, but am certainly trying to figure it out.
      Edit II:
From what I can tell and in short, nowadays they can revoke existing authorizations once a company or product goes on the "covered list". Essentially, it is up to their discretion, but ultimately, they have the power and authority to do so. After additional research, I stand by my original comment.

    • @PTRRanger951
      @PTRRanger951 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

No they are wanting to ban drones because politicians don’t know better. They think that remote access is a thing.
Think about it, the phones we use EVERYDAY and take EVERYWHERE with us are made overseas. They can be used for remote access a lot easier.
Drone have no internet, they can’t send anything. They do nothing. You can use a phone without cell or internet service or an iPad with no cell service to fly a drone.
There is literally zero way anything from a drone can be uploaded remotely. It has to be connected to a device with internet.
Our phones have that built in, and can send stuff 24/7 but they are not trying to ban them are they?
You take a battery out of a drone to charge and it’s a paper weight.
What images can they possibly send anyway? It all depends on what the operator is flying over.
So someone on vacation at a lake follow boats? Yeah that is a real interest to China.
They can see the same thing on Instagram with better photos.

It doesn’t know if you don’t have service. Explain to me how I can fly my drone on a tablet with no internet connection. Oh yeah, you don’t need internet to fly it.
Might want to do your own research, or actually read what I said.
You DONT need internet to fly.
And if you think they stopped using drones, that’s funny.
You can turn off the cellular data to your phone and turn the app on and it will work just fine.
But that’s the point isn’t it? What are the odds you would be flying over someone another country wants to see? It’s not going to happen. But you already have a phone in your pocket with a camera, with a mic and with its own cellular data, that is on more often than a drone yet drones are the issue?
Get over yourself. It has nothing to do with spying. We have houses with security systems made in China, we have cars with cellular data with cameras, we have phones. But drones that may fly for 15 minutes at a time over nothing anything cares about are a threat? How? What can a drone possibly show that can’t be seen using a simple internet search or looking at a sat photo? Or sending someone to look for themselves?
The drone operator needs to be in the exact area, at the exact time, flying over the exact thing another country wants to look at.

I wanted to share my perspective on the current discussions regarding the potential ban on Chinese drones in the U.S. It seems to me that this ban does not truly reflect a genuine concern from the U.S. government about Chinese drones. Rather, implementing such a ban would eliminate approximately 90% of recreational drones sold in the U.S., significantly reducing the number of drones flown in this country.
Additionally, it's worth noting that the momentum for this ban only started to build after SkyDio's exit from the consumer drone market. This timing seems more than coincidental and suggests that other factors may be influencing the narrative.
I believe it is crucial for us to address this issue from this perspective in our messaging. Your insights and support in this matter would be highly valued.
    Best regards,
Lead Coordinator & Remote Pilot Trainer, Syosset Fire Department

Sub-250 gram drones here in Canada do NOT require either I.D or registration. 250 gram to 25 kg do however (unless flown "indoors"). Is your U.S. Part-107 licensing not similar in that regard? And bye-the-way, for a non-Canadian resident to fly here in Canada even if you have a U.S. part-107 requires an SFOC authorization from Transport Canada. (Special Flight Operations Certificate). This HOBBY is becoming more and more difficult to be compliant both in the U.S. and in Canada. Greetings from Ontario, Canada.

One which is led by them and one which is completely U.S dominated. If the U.S cannot compete with China then it will opt for complete bans to protect whatever is left of U.S industry even if it means causing economic pain and disruptions.
