    These are tough little SUV's. I love how "old fashioned" they are. Nissan only used the most basic and proven systems on these instead of trying to get fancy... Manual transfer case instead of buttons, locking hubs instead of diff-disconnect, box frame, leaf springs, torsion bars, etc... not to mention the 3.3L is essentially a 1980's engine retrofitted with EFI.

    Would love to know what modifications you’ve done. Your Xterra looks nearly stock but was a beast in this video!
    Also, are those just stock steelies sprayed white? Look really cool! Loved the video!!

      @ITS305TIME  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the tan xterra is my friend's. It is completely stock except the tires, 265/75/16s, 1 inch taller then stock and cranked up torsion bars in front. He got the rims from ebay, steel spares off Nissans or toyotas and painted them international harvester tan with TSC paint. The xterra is a 5 speed with a limited slip rear differential.

    Didn't notice Kenny's Climb. Maybe I missed it or maybe, because i have not been in Moab off-roading for nine years (after living there for seven years with a Hummer), I forgot what it looked like. But is sure was one of my favorites. Sure does bring back some great memories.

    Just knowing the difference between how things appear on camera compared to how they are in real life gave me a little anxiety watching this! Good job spotting and giving directions. Terrain like that definitely goes better when the driver and spotter are on the same page. Can't wait for part 2!

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, its a shame the camera tends to flatten everything out. Some of those shots were like strait up and down. The part where the car was teetering going down the rock on that angle, i thought there was a high chance he was going to end up on his roof.

    • @Captain_Yodelstein
      @Captain_Yodelstein 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ITS305TIME, that shot where it was teetering I was thinking it didn't look too bad. Then I think back to my own videos, the way it looks on screen to the way it looks (and more importantly the way it feels) never seems to translate well. Like I said, great job to both you and the driver.

      @@Captain_Yodelstein It’s weird since I drove it made me tense just watching me do it after the fact. It’s crazy how camera makes things seem easy. Before this trip I had planned to run this trail and seemed super easy going. Man was I wrong. Most things said online that 33” tires and a locker would be the minimum but I had heard of people doing it in stock vehicles so I thought looks easy enough I don’t need that stuff. Well come to find out I didn’t need it but it would have made everything a little easier.

    How are the iron man tires on the road? Are they loud?

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too loud i dont think. Its my friends xterra. I know he has a bad tire that causes a vibration though. So i guess there ok aslong as you dont get a defective one.

    • @prestondeters5093
      @prestondeters5093 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll never have a full set iron man tires that will balance well. There will always be at least one bad one. If you do get them, keep up on rotations like crazy or they will start to severely cup on the tread.

  • @bushnut8305
    @bushnut8305 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What wheels and tires? Full stock or modified?

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Iron man mud tires, 265-75-16, one size bigger then stock. The rims are just a full set of spare steel rims like what the spare tire is on. And its stock, just adjusted the torsion bars to level it and the mud tires that are about a inch taller but fit without a lift.

    • @ITS305TIME

      I had a bad radiator cap so the coolant kept boiling over and blasting out the over flow tank. Plus it was over 100 degrees and my radiator fins are probely packed full of michigan mud from all the other offroad trips.
