- This video will cover the 2000-2004 Nissan Xterra. The Nissan Xterra was design and built in America. The Nissan Xterra SUV was based on the Nissan Frontier pickup truck. Nissan Xterra buyers could choose between a four-cylinder engine and a V6. The Xterra also had 4-wheel drive capabilities.
i love channels that go in depth on cars (and trucks/suvs) that people don't talk about or sometimes even know what it is, i love supercars but sometimes i get tired of being reminded how unobtainable and expensive the cars are these days, even cars that were cheap not even 5 years ago going for 10k when you could find them for about 2k, sad times to be a car enthusiast, unless you have it like that, then it's undoubtedly the greatest time
edit: it also makes me so sad what nissan became after change in leadership in 1999, i understand changes had to be made because nissan wasn't profitable, they were losing money on every car they sold because they were actually made with quality (other than rustproofing), man, they took a serious nosedive after that, imagine if they kept their quality and found a way to make it profitable, nissan would definitely be the best japanese car company, those 90s nissans were extremely reliable on top of a good amount of them having good power while getting power with slight mods makes them perfect for enthusiasts, i miss my 97 5 speed maxima, definitely surprised a good amount of people because of how quick it was with a subtle look, but every late 90s maxima i had rusted bad, next one i get is going to be from down south
Yeah get one from down south. Florida cars are the best. I own a Maxima myself and love it. Would mind owning a mid to late 90s one either.
I gotta say you did a vary good job on the cover photo
Thanks
Great vid Rob! I miss everything about the 01 SE 4x4 5 speed one I had......But the gas mileage.
Hey thanks for watching. Yeah I heard the gas mileage on those Xterras wasn’t all that.
The XTerrra was like a production concept vehicle. It was conceived with a specific buyer in mind, and they stayed true to that mission when it went on sale. This arrived just after the XJ Cherokee was retired, effectively giving those folks a replacement. Smart.
Now’s the time for Nissan to bring it back.
@@MotorMaster_Stunticon As long as they don't take a cue from Chevy with their Blazer & Trailblazer. It'd be a shame to see XTerra return as a crossover soft-roader. 😔
This is true. Imagine a Versa-based Xterra lol
@@MotorMaster_Stunticon You need to apologize for putting that out in the ether. Someone at Renault may read that!
I always loved the nissan xterra and the China version of the nissan xterra the nissan paladin I always wanted one because that one girl from the show the outer banks
Agreed. The Xterras were nice and capable too.
I bought my 2001 Xterra for the Same reason😅
I love that show
I watched. Thank you for another effort. People are finding out about your channel. You got a mention in someone else's video.
Thanks man. More to come.
@@MotorMaster_Stunticon You are welcome...
The STATION WAGON version of the NISSAN FRONTIER.
Yeah pretty much haha
Early! Can you please do the 1989-1995 Pathfinder please
In due time.
@@MotorMaster_Stunticon thank you kindly 🤘🏾
I had a 2005 with the six speed manual… I loved that thing. Yeah, it was far more powerful and better in most every way than the first gen, but there’s something old-school and honest about the first gen that was lost in the translation to the second gen, though I’m sure that a lot of that has to do with the first gen being based on what was essentially an updated Hardbody chassis dating all of the way back to 1986.5, whereas the F-Alpha platform underpinning the second gen was throughly modern for 2005. What’s funny about the first generation is that the most rare of them is almost certainly the four cylinder version with no roof rack, since they were far less common than V6/4wd models.
Yep if given the choice, I’d take the 2000-2001 model.
Great video. Unfortunately, these are the years when cash strapped Nissan decline in quality started to be noticed.
Great point!
Having an 03 Sorento and a 99 montero sport I think I need an xterra.
Yeah an Xterra would be a nice addition too.
Junior Soprano's car!
Yep yep
1:40 ah yes, the active outdoor antiquing lifestyle.
Antiquing?!
Yeah apparently that’s considered an outdoor activity.
These 2000-2004 Nissan x Terra's were futuristic when they were new.
Yeah I guess so.
