The three different sliced pork, along with the pate is OG for me, in the good ole days (in Sydney) when you could only buy banh mi from Vietnamese bread shops (always freshly baked bread rolls) and they cost $2 and be freshly made in front of you … admittedly this was over 10 years ago … pork belly with crackling is a boujie newcomer
This is the banh mi I grew up with in Sydney. Never had any option for a bbq or roast pork crackling like you do nowadays. This is exactly how I love it!
One of the pork cuts on there looks like a char sui style judging from the red tinge on the outside..it's a cool looking take may have to the cold cut one a go one time
I've been trying to get Greg an interior light for his ute for probably 6 or 7 years. I know he likes the flowers but I also know he won't replace it because he's a man of principles because flowers are better than lights.
Ok Gteg. Love your work and character. You remind me of most fam and friends that grew up in or moved north though decades ago. This mexican offering to take you around to most authentic places in vic. So you can learn a bit more what was in that and many other things from around the world you review and love.
Thank you for bringing back my good childhood memories. My mom made these sandwiches regularly, because I loved eating them, and through osmosis--50% of my school and community were Vietnamese. My kid brain believed that I (Mixed-European American/ White) could become part Vietnamese, too. We are not social anymore and we never have Vietnamese food. Shame. Also, I vaguely remember buying these sandwiches for two or four dollars at a franchise.
There's a couple of sub $7 Bahm Mi still available opposite the Darra train station. The most "authentic" one is from Scotts Rd takeaway for $6.50, but the Darra Takeaway does an interesting Pork and Salad roll for $6. All made fresh, and not an EFTPOS machine to be found 😅
Finally a Banh Mi under $9.00 Yeee haaa The Subway bread warmer is catching on in some bakeries. I think the sausage meat is similar in taste to Long Chuk sausage often used in stirfrys.
That's a cold deli meat banh mi you'd get on a hot summer's day as opposed to the ones with a hot filling like roast pork/chicken/bbq pork or fish/seafood!
Never gonna happen. But Luke's bakery Moonee Ponds VIC is best value. It's huge! $14 but whoa. Combination of charcoal pork and crackling pork. Comes with butter, chicken pate, cucumber, pickled carrot, spring onion, coriander, fried shallot, pork crackles hoisin sauce AND the option of those spicy chilli's

For YOU Sydneysiders maybe!

Sunnybank, Inala and Darra are awesome for good Vietnamese. Good video Greggo :)

Can't say I have ever had a pre made Banh Mi out of the fridge GregO and I have had many! Anyway glad you enjoyed 😆
Cant get any individual flavours but you get hints of this and hints of that

Don't stuff with Greggos and his mouse flow of energy in his Ute
@@guytaylor2057 I'm not bro, I just get concerned for Gregory when it's dark in the ute.
Has a nice crunch to it
Great review mate
beats that $8.95 burger mate what a rip of that was
I've bought 3 different bahn mis this week thanks to old greggo getting me hooked on them
@sirbahnmidude
Banh Mi
@@meegoreng8155 it was plural because I'm a glutton
@@sirmrguitardude you spelled it wrong. It's not bahn.

Your other subscribers mock me and love fast food crap etc but this is real food.
No one mocks you. You're just overly sensitive.
Looks like two slices of pork meatloaf on top of ham sausage and char siu
Great value Greggo

Yet another fantastic review from our Grego, I've never tried a banh Mi. I'd love to do I'm going to 🤩
Now that looks like a REAL Banh Mi !
Nice vid Greg! Thanks.
At some stage during winter do you think you could review a pho? 🍲
Not a banh mi without daikon 🤣
Good ol' Sunnywank!
$7.00 WELL BUGGA MI , thats what she said.
Looks yummy yo and enjoyable plus guarantee by grego reviews
Good day Greg Guy here 😅
When Glenn asks for a fresh pork he wants to head straight to bed lol
Who is Glenn?
Looks really nice even though the roll isn't the freshest. I really enjoy the fresh white rolls from Asian run bakery always nice really colourful 😊
Greggooooo!!!
It seemed a good price and plenty of filling
Have you tried or at least reviewed the KFC crunch burger it's bloody beautiful 👍🏾

Just like our local bakery here in Sydney just we get some spring onion on it and chilli plus some soya sauce omg heaven
It would be maggi seasoning not soy sauce.
Love a man who has managed to work out how to monetize his lunch.
Pinelands is great! Shalom is a nice Indonesian restaurant.
Tell em Greg sent you!
Very nice. Thank you. ($4.66 US Dollars..)
good morning from Canada 😅😂
Need pork belly with extra fukn crackle and chillie it ooooh yer grego
It's dog meat jelly spam 😢
Looks delicious 😋 mate
Love your videos Greggo! Would be great to hear your thoughts on crackling pork banh mi with chili at Vietnamese Oven in Buranda, my latest obsession.
Banh Mi.
@@NoOne11279 corrected, cheers!
bit lazy pre making bahn mi, inside of that roll looked soggy as! Looks like it tasted ok though 👍

Combination of charcoal pork and crackling pork. Comes with butter, chicken pate, cucumber, pickled carrot, spring onion, coriander, fried shallot, pork crackles hoisin sauce AND the option of those spicy chilli's
Even with that fake meat it's still a bargain at $7.
Dont ask what that is Greggo, you're better off not knowing.
Pork loaf
@@nickmartin812 🤣 Call it what you want. Loaf sounds better than entrails and anus.
Dog roll?
Looks like processed meats . Probably explains the price lol
Eating bahn mi on a Sunday is kinda absurd.

I say your favourite place is Thailand, especially as it's cheaper.
What does this have to with Thailand?
Lettuce is green not orange 🤦
Who wants to see Greg eat a Banh Mi and get a happy ending at the same time? Greg will be oooooooh yeeeeah!

You can get em some places for $5 still
Banh Mi. And it's maggi seasoning not soy sauce.
9.9 out of 10
This is the first legit Bahn Mi ive seen you eat lol. This is how they come a lot of the time. Although its usually one meat, not all 3!

The best bit of a pork roll is at the end, when the mayo, soy sauce & the patte mix together !✌👍
Maggi seasoning.

Huh what ?
Skip the cukes and cilantro and I would eat this.
The bbq pork & bbq pork meatball banh mi’s are the two best ones 😋
That is the clssic Vietnamese Banh Mi with the different slices of mystery pork meat. At 7 bucks, what a bargain
YO ❗ greggo..Primo I am 👀👍❗
Looks like the ones they sell at the gas station
It's got to be real pork w/crackle for me, i'm not a fan of the deli meat style Banh Mi.
It’s all pork Greggo, one roasted the other like a ham
Love you.
🤔🌈🏳️🌈
Gregggoooooo
Ol' Grego is very curious about the meats he's putting in his mouth.
Crackling Greggo, not crackle. Crackle is what it does when you bite it, like rice bubbles (Snap, Crackle, Pop!)
I'm old Greg
Injustice! Premade pork roll..even in cabramatta they start from $6 now for a standard roll.
🤤
No need for cheese in my opinion... YUMA!!
Greggo = 'Him who tells it like it is' Can't put a price on it.
Get the cucum outta there and that’d be me too shelf divinity here uh GregO… and at that price, leave home material. Cheers Gibbo
Over the banh mi hype. Bad excuse for salad roll 😂
Pause
Pre made? Sounds horrific
Just about all bakeries the bahn mi are premade.
