OMG! Vietnamese sandwich or Banh Mi in my opinion is the best fast food/street food on the planet. The French influenced street food is super tasty, convenient and cheap. It's not hard to spot a Banh Mi stand anywhere in the country, most of them cost you about $1 or even less! Some can go up to $3 or even $100. Most surprisingly, many of the tastiest ones in Vietnam, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City came from unexpected or less known Banh Mi stands! I have spent a whole week trying many different types of Banh Mi in Ho Chi Minh City. Some of my personal favorites were Cu Ly Banh Mi, Hoa Ma Banh Mi, Bay Ho Banh Mi and charcoal grilled pork Banh Mi #39. They were not only cheap but also delicious! Unlike most of the street foods worldwide, Vietnam's French influenced bread rolls with crunchy crispy outside and airy soft inside can have many different types of yummy fillings satisfying everyone's individual demand including fried lemongrass tofu fillings for vegans. The exceptional culinary skills of the Vietnamese have turned an ordinary French baguette into Vietnam's extraordinary culinary masterpiece.
Before the US army invated Vietnam , wheat flour is only for use by Priests church and Vietnamese who work for France. In the 1950s Europeans scientists think that , the Large white body is thanks to the fact that White person eat many flour
Banh mi is a famous food but most of foreigner didn't know that they have to try one by one until they find out their favourite. Each banh mi has their own taste and it's unique. I live in Vietnam and it took me 20 years to reach my "true love" :)
For me the best banh mi i ate in Hoi An. "Banh Mi Phuong" and "Madam Khanh - The Banh Mi Queen" are these two places. Saigon Bun Bo and seafood i liked the most.
I've been back to Vietnam like 10 times... Love it there. Hong Hoa is my favorite as well. #2 place is almost too overwhelming with the amount of meat. If you get a chance when in HCMC, go to Hem 49 Nguyen Van Dau, ask for "Chi Loan" she serves some serious good eats each day. Near there, on Hoang Hoa Tham street, there's a Wonton soup place at the corner that's been there for nearly 100 years. Love that place too. Best wishes!
I've been eating the Banh mi at Banh mi 37 for the best part of 15 years, she's only open in the evening , she's unique. If you get there early it's pure theatre watching her prepare the patties on charcoal..
Totally agree, though I found Banh Mi Huynh Hoa to have way too much meat, and they were also quite unfriendly. Bang Mi Hong Hoa was a pleasure. They had more options and I enjoyed both the BBQ Pork, the Xiu Mai, and the Roast Pork while I was in Saigon. The owner (in the video) was an absolute gentleman and so friendly to talk to, which is why I continued to come back. I told all of my friends the same as you, and made sure they went to Banh Mi Hong Hoa first. Great review, and I’m glad to see I’m not the only one with the same opinion.
In Providence, RI 🇺🇸 the best Bahn mi is from the Asian Bakery on Broad street. This place had been there since the 1990’s. It has changed owners but it still a great local spot.
interesting foods in vietnam very much satisfying about trying different foods which i think everybody can afford it, have a nice day everyone watching this vlog, see you all everyone...
My most favourite dishes are bánh mì definitely, bún bò huế, bún chả, bún mắm, bánh canh cua, bún đậu mắm tôm, ốc - many types of snails- must eat in HCMC.
This is called shredded pork, which is dried shredded pork meat. The meat is cooked for a long time until it becomes very very tender then it is put in the machine to be shredded. The shredded meat will be dried up in the frying pan until it becomes very dried, so that it can be kept for months.
the first two are more "traditional" using cold cut meats. the third one uses different style of meat so it doesn't taste the same as the first two. try one with roast pork. it's good.
Banh Mi Huynh Hoa comes with veg. I assume because you ordered 1 “banh mi” they have no idea what you want as they are so busy to ask they just put everything on the side. If your still in Vietnam just Always order “Dac Biet” aka “banh mi dac biet” or “pho dac biet”. Your basically saying give me everything. And then either “co ot” with chili or “khong ot” no chili.
The 2nd is rated best by most foreigners because the damn thing is loaded with meat, the first is ok, the third one is not a typical banh mi. As a person who’s been eating banh mi for over 60 years all three are not traditional authentic Vietnamese banh mi. Some of the best one are sold by the small vendors selling from cart like the third one, you just have to find out by try a few of them. More meat doesn’t mean flavor.
You've still many more to try...like the pork belly ones. Those are the most delicious along with the grilled meats (not necessarily grilled patty like you had).
@@AdamVenturesTravel the best banh mi should not be the biggest, nor most expensive, nor full of high priced ingredients ... Many people miscomprehended

If you like Banh mi a lot.. than you should try Banh mi Bit tet and Banh mi xiu mai in Hanoi ( they serve it in a sizzling hot tray).. dont know if you like snails but HCMC is said to be snail heaven.. and seafood buffet too.
Dude, you're missing out. Try "Bánh mì Tăng - since 1968" in District 5. Only 25k but it'll blow your mind. The pate there is no doubt the best one in Sai Gon. They also sell sticky rice, it's the best, too. Haha.
