    Super Cute! I noticed the tool you used to make the feet at local Ceramic Supply store today next to the forms and had no clue what it was for....now I know. Great job and thank you so much for the tips and demo. Be well.

      Thank you! I guess timing is everything... too bad I didn't post before you were at the store.
      Glad you enjoyed the video. :-)

      Andrea, what type of boards are you using and did you cover the surface with canvas? Those are very convenient, simple, and easy. You're cleaver :)

      Simply Dee it is a apiece of drywall board. I got a big piece at home depot and cut it up in to smaller pieces and then taped the edges with duct tape. They are made with plaster with a paper coating and absorb moisture. When the paper wears off you can no longer use the board but they last a long time!

    Thank you for sharing your talents... what thickness is the slab ? Just got my GR forms and love playing with them.. TKIA

      I roll my slabs out to about 1/4" and let them dry up a bit. Then I will thin them a bit when making the piece so I am not totally sure. For the larger pieces I tend to leave them closer to the original 1/4". For small pieces I tend to thin the slab a bit more. Hope that helps!

    How and what do you make your boards with. And are they good for any use drying wedging etc

      They are made with drywall board. It is plaster covered with paper. Good for drying greenware and working on. But not good for wedging or drying wet clay. It wears out the paper too quickly and the board becomes useless. I have heard that Hardy Backer Board is good for wedging and drying though I have not used it myself.

    I enjoy watching and learning with your videos. However it only be polite of you to showed the completely finished dish.

      I am glad you like the videos. Problem is that I don't fire all that often and I do not want to wait for the finished pieces to post the video. I do post a lot of my finished pieces on Facebook and Instagram if you want to look there. 🙂

    How do you know when to take it off the form, to avoid cracking?

    • @andreaakeribpottery
      @andreaakeribpottery  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I remove the plate when it starts to pull away from the form. Then I flip it over and either put the form back or use a weight bag - material with kitty litter, sand, dried beans... what ever you have. My studio is in the garage which is damp and everything dries slowly. I have never had cracking. Maybe your pieces are drying too fast?

      @@andreaakeribpottery yes. It's been very hot here... need some cooler weather I guess, to try again.
