    I discovered another great texture yesterday - the soles of shoes. My flip flops have a flower imprint on the soles so I pressed my clay into that and used it. Came out really nicely. Also the simple ridges of other soles can be interesting as well. (Clean the soles before and after pressing, obviously) Great video, thank you!

    Lovely. thank you. I also put a hole in the handle and then i can put string through they to hang them up together as i am short of space.

    Lovely video!! In looking for clay online, it seems I may not be able to make anything durable with air dry clay. I'd have to fire it or use polymer clay for baking in an oven.

    will these take ink pad ink for stamping? or just making imprints only? Thank you i was looking for something like this for a long time since stamps are insanely expensive. Crafting on a budget here. Good work you do.

    • @andreaakeribpottery
      @andreaakeribpottery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I am not sure it it would work with ink since the clay stamps are still porous. But you could try it

    Would a coil work then squish one side down then put stamp on it or make piece with handle before then add artwork. What is your recommending finish to the bottom? I couldn't hear the last part, someone suggested to add floor wax or furniture polish to seal a unfired peice to use for stamping, I do how to seal incase i cannot fire them for use

    • @andreaakeribpottery
      @andreaakeribpottery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am sure you could use a coil. Give it a try. I always bisque mine so I am not sure what you would if you can't bisque. Seems like they would be prone to breaking if not fired

    thanks for all the great tips however, how long do you dry before firing and to what cone:)

    • @andreaakeribpottery
      @andreaakeribpottery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ArtSea I wait until they are completely bone dry and then I fire to cone 04 bisque. I have thought about firing to Cone 6 but I haven't tried that yet. I don't know if it's better for them to be a little absorbent the way they are at bisque or completely vitrified. I'll have to try that with one of the stamps I have and see what happens. 😊

    do you or can you add the little handles after you cut out the design? or do you have to make it as one piece?

    • @andreaakeribpottery
      @andreaakeribpottery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      melissa Losos I have added handles after the fact but I find that I tend to mess up the stamp when I do that. If you let it dry to leather hard maybe you could add a handle at that point. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. ☺ hm... Maybe I will try it too.

    Can we make it with clay and keep it dry and then apply as teracota clay

    • @andreaakeribpottery
      @andreaakeribpottery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't fire it, it will be fragile. I have never used but have heard of air-dry clay that you can get at a craft store. Maybe that would work?
