I just discovered this band by a friend at work last week...and I absolutely love it. The musicianship of these guys is unreal, and this songs lyrics are so meaningful today...music of today is made for quick consumption, and they depict it perfectly.
I discovered this band after Anathema songs on yt, i was letting the youtube streaming songs as im cookin' and suddenly i hear "way out of here live in tilburg" streamed up and blown away by this band it was long ago xD
One of the wonders of the world.... Porcupine Tree.... Has gone down... We should care enough to get it back guys... What a band... Whenever I hear this song.. it melts me
Arindam Sarkar They won’t get back. They’ve gone their separate directions. Wilson is full fledged on his solo works now. He said that he doesn’t want to dig up the past again in some interview
I recently got introduced to this band by a friend. Holy shit how in the hell is this band not any bigger??? Incredible musicians and beautiful songwriting man. Incredible to say the least. I'm very happy I found them but sad that they are no longer playing. Hopefully one day they will reunite.
Steven Wilson he is one of the BEST singer in the world. He know to combine great sound effects with he’s guitar and he’s voice is fantastic. Well done.
TY. They are so acclaimed and revered. It's just that the music is so good they can't help but think they should be as popular as taylor swift or something.
I've just recently discovered PT and now I listen to this amazing music every time when I'm out walking for hours in the forest. It's so healing. Thank you so much for making the world a better place to live in. Greetings from Sweden

A great band! Thanks for existing PT and for giving me great moments. Moments of musical ecstasy. It's amazing what you make feel with your music guys. Your performances alive are amazing.
Well we’re 6 years in and still only at 125k views and probably about 2k of those are moi, it’s showing what a sad music world now exists when artists not worthy of that description are getting millions of views for their dross. People have been dumbed down big time.
Discovered these guys thanks to Steven’s music engineering work and Gavin’s newer role in King Crimson. Looking at KC performances and Steven’s wedding pictures, I don’t think either of them age either.
I saw them 3 noghts in a row when they played "The Incident" straight through? Had a 15 min break. Then played an intimate 2 hrs of other past favourites. This was one of the highlights.AND..Gavin Harrison and Danny Carey are the best drummers in the WORLD.

There is a lot of truth to this song . There are so many that just fill a demographic . The focus only seems to be on the sexuality , race and some form of identity or for lack of a better term shitty behavior and the music takes a second or third place to everything else . Thats the world we live in now . Lets hope for a change someday .
Rip the real music , I am so sad our future generations will never hear such sound of Muzak. This song clearly explains how the wonder of the world (music) has gone to shits and we are doing nothing about it.
It's sad that this song came out in 2002, and maybe not even Steven himself saw how bad things would get. Thought boy bands were bad? Now it's so called rappers, who can't rap, and don't write their own rhymes.
Really, I thought we were in good hands with the likes of Simon Cowell and programmes like the voice to make sure great music carries on?! 🤔🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😂

There’s a video doing the rounds on TH-cam where Gavin talks about ( and plays) the drum part to this song. Just type Gavin Harrison sound of Muzak and it’ll come up. 👍🏼
And here you can see why it was a mistake of SW to go solo. The gap that Gavin, Colin & Richard left can never be refilled (and if you are not convinced yet, watch the Anesthetize concert again)). This is so much better than anything he will ever churn out solo, especially live. What a musicianship at display here. Phenomenal. Lucky enough to see PT several times on several tours (earliest in 94) but with the arrival of Gavin it became something else entirely. Solo SW plays more loose, this is really tightly played. Compare this with Home Invasion and you will hear the difference. It does however deserve to watch this on DVD or BR. The DTS remix on it from which this number is taken is absolute class.
The bass runs on the chorus are epic.
I noticed the same when I heard this song for the first time. 3 days ago ;) Drums are killer too. Second voice is also unusual.
wish they would get collin back in the band tbh, had a unique bass style to pt
Rhythm section is a killer here. Another of my favorites are the live version of "Arriving Somewhere "......
@@itrabos that's becouse there are three voices🙂

Mr.Gavin Harrison!!! One of the most amazing drummers!!
The guitar tones are SO good, especially Steven's during his solo
Yeah🔥
PRS guitars are a big part of that equation
I can’t believe I didn’t know of this band until now. So ashamed. But happy now that I can explore their music!
Welcome to the party I just discovered them last year.:)
Sound of Muzak is the song that 'got me' with PT....then 'Arriving somewhere but not here' and I was all in...
Same for me.
same
Nice,
Mine is Anesthetized.
Gavin is super tight on this track, his drumming makes it so melodic and musical.
This is the song. Posted on Prog Achieves back in the early 00's. Been a fan ever since.

Wow! You must be so blown away. And you have a lot to dig into. I am still finding new stuff after 15 years.

Best 4 months ever?
I discovered this band by watching a drum cover from a Polish drummer named Igor Falecki. LOL And damn he's good.
Check out Stephen Wilsons' solo stuff. Mind blowing. The raven that refused to sing is an incredible piece of work
Just watched the recent video of this song. Craig Blundell did a great job on drums but no one can beat this man ! Gavin ! You genius !
I've learned that song today. I'm just in love with it. Pretty beautiful composition!!

In love with the extension (on the original solo) at 3:21. Simply, in love. Gives me goosebumps EVERY SINGLE TIME.
The backing vocals are amazing as everything else
1:18 what a tasteful yet risky decision. Gavin Harrison is boss.
The Best!!!❤
Did anyone notice the smile on Colin Edwin's face?
He’s always smiling :D
he just like what he’s doing
No, did he smile?
Hes a badass. What a rhythm section. The groovemasters!!!

Only wish is to see porcupine tree back together.
This chorus is the celebration of music !
It goes both ways. Quite ironic and yet it warns us profoundly.
What an outstanding piece!!!!

Gavin Harrison is so fucking solid.
His fills are (s)ex(xx)tremely tasteful
Not everyone gets it bro
Solid as a rock and his cymbal work and fills are out of this world. Well enough said.

what a song

O corte fica cego

Dá o que você quer
Uma das maravilhas do mundo está desabando
