It's not merely a song. It is an emotional experience. It is a magic carpet ride to the sun and back. It is a mystical, ethereal out of body moment. Brilliant.
Damn I wanna come up with something like that. U took the feeling and put it in words. Well done. We almost don't deserve it. And the people who don't know this treasure of music are the ones that really don't deserve it. For them the current trash out there is better than fine for them.
If he considers himself a limited musician, I can accept that. However, his song writing and live performance arrangements are magical. Thank god I found his music
Steven is the master of modesty. I am 70 years old and have followed and seen in concert too many bands to list. Steven can hold his own with any musician. His creativity is what is astounding. He goes places no one else has even dreamed of going.
The guitar riff at the start and from 10:30 to 11:25 is my favorite part of the entire Hand.Cannot.Erase album. To me, there is a sense of hope and adventure in that minute of music, where a lot of Steven Wilson music is more melancholy. I love all of his work, but this was a unique part of the album for me and definitely the part I am looking forward to seeing the most in 2 weeks.
Same here! When this song first came out i used to get stuck again and again in this little magical moment created, and self-declared this as the most epic piece of music ever created.
Steve and band. I do hope your parents are as proud of you as i would be if you were my children. God, your music plays my soul like an angel plays a harp! I laid under a blanket at night in the mid 60s to listen to underground music on 850am in durham nc. I started with iron butterfly. Then spirit, hedrix, pink Floyd...... now its you guys carrying on a beautiful progression of rock music. Your music and other prog rock musicians make this world worth celebrating! 😂 IMHO
I was at the Salt Lake City show 11/11/16. Once in a lifetime experience for me as I've been a SW/PT fan for quite a few years now. I was like a star struck little girl at this show. Absolutely incredible and to fortunate to stand on the front row made it that much more rewarding.
I was a die hard prog fan I heard that Steven Wilson and porcupine tree had some good music. When he released the tickets for a live show in Stockholm I bought them immediately and then the next 6-8 months I dived deep into his catalogue. I was so amazed and then when the day came for seeing him live I had tickets for the fourth row. An amazing show gotta say and I’m so happy that I bought them so early without knowing what I got myself into
Saw Steven Wilson and Band; Melbourne, 28 10 2016 - blew my head off. Experienced a lifetime of the essence of most important Music from last 50 years - Overwhelmingly Superb Soundscapes justified by Steven's vivid good taste.
This live performance is incredible perfection. I’ve just gotten into this album and this work of art song in particular stands out like Drive Home on The Raven album.
i agree Steve, Gavin is one of the best drummer i've ever seen and heard live and me too i miss PT like Snowy Ambar. Any chance to see them back again ?
I can't get enough of this song. I can listen to it a hundred times and still never get bored of it. Steven Wilson is a badass composer with his awesome music arrangements. I saw him in San Francisco, he put on an amazing concert.
I've only recently come around to the magic that is Steven Wilson's music; Porcupine Tree was never quite satisfying for me, but his 'solo' stuff - and particularly Hand Cannot Erase - is just so incredible. Full of emotion, and he seamlessly covers so much ground musically while being rooted in prog rock (my favorite). Not to mention his backing band kicks ass. Thank you so much for posting this concert; I'm so sad that I had to miss him when here was here (Atlanta, GA) this past December. I'll be making sure to see him when he does come back again.
@@agtbruinsman7190 LOL, I have in the time since I wrote that actually become a big PT fan and I am beyond psyched for C/C and to see them on tour (hopefully) in 2022 - my daughter has come to love SW and PT as well, she’s going to go with me!
RIP Joyce Vincent, which this album was written about. Joyce Vincent was a beautiful young (38) English woman whose death went unnoticed for more than two years as her corpse lay undiscovered at her bedsit in north London. How does someone with friends and 4 sisters go missing and no one notices for over 2 years? It is a bizarre and fascinating story, and that is what many of the themes of this album are about. That we can be so disconnected from each other in this day and age is a tragedy.
saw this performance twice in SF Ca. would love to have had another go..prob one of the best musical experiences I ever had ..and I've had a lot ...a very lot!! if I had to choose it would be this ...
Silke D. I still ❤️ this so much and these were my favorite band members for HCE. I saw it with GGoven and MMinnemann but Dave Kilminster and Craig Blundell were just perfect!
OK, if no one else will.... I'm gonne praise Nick Beggs. OMG what a boss on the bass (and chapstick depending on the track). But as always... bass lines and bass players are so underrated and underappreciated, unfortunately.
Absolutely. He's really taken to the Chapman Stick. To the point of developing it! Lovely fella, too. I feel quite privileged to have been having some cool chats on twiXXer.
I cannot recommend seeing Steven in concert strongly enough. I caught this tour twice and was blown out of my seat both times. Sadly he is not coming to a city close enough to me for me to catch the To The Bone tour, but I would see it if I could!

We almost don't deserve the music of Steven Wilson
I've seen this show live twice, both times i cried like a baby.
Well done, mate. Same here.
you are fucking right
Damn I wanna come up with something like that. U took the feeling and put it in words. Well done. We almost don't deserve it. And the people who don't know this treasure of music are the ones that really don't deserve it. For them the current trash out there is better than fine for them.
With all of the crap we've had to listen to for the past 20 yrs we damn do deserve this!!! LOVE IT!!
I'm gonna miss the HCE 'era' so fucking much
Same here. Such a good album.
Absolute! What he does today is unfortunately very far away from this masterpiece! 🫤 What a pity!
Steven's playing is just perfect for the "limited musician" that he calls himself.
Only 122 views? This video should have like 6 million views and 6 billion likes
My bad
***** Sorry 6 Billion for both *typo*
+Enigma X It's 125 Likes, and 5,494 views already...
Na'zø Sislian But that is sad justin beiber or any other pop star would've had like 12 million views by now
+Michael van Rhee I like it with 6 million vies and 6 billion likes. Screw the system!
I cried like a little baby when i saw this live, 2 rows from front, the first song of my first steven wilson concert.
many of of have as well mate ...
This song means so much to me.
More than you'll ever know
Every Steve Wilson song takes a while to hatch in me, but it always does eventually. His songs are designed to captivate you over the long term.
The guitar riff at the start and from 10:30 to 11:25 is my favorite part of the entire Hand.Cannot.Erase album. Agreed!
My feelings exactly !
This is so well articulated.
Same here! When this song first came out i used to get stuck again and again in this little magical moment created, and self-declared this as the most epic piece of music ever created.
colokurt1- If you liked that part you might also like the tune The Cinema Show by Genesis, particularly the last half of the song.

The song is beautiful and COMPLEX
Wilson is so underrated & unknown. Yet he's one of the best ever! it's a paradox.
He is Not Underrated by those who Love his music and this all that counts in reality!

One of the greatest songs, ever. Fantastically done .
I don't think I've ever heard a song that speaks to me as much as this
I just love Steven Wilson's music. A lot.
I was at this show. Absolutely incredible.
This live performance is incredible perfection. I’ve just gotten into this album and this work of art song in particular stands out like Drive Home on The Raven album.
The guitars come alive so much more live than on the recorded version of this song........absolutely love this version!
My favourite drummer would be Gavyn Harrison from PT days, an immense talent.
+Steve Clark i know what you mean. Gavin Harrison had that PT spirit. makes me miss the older lives.
i agree Steve, Gavin is one of the best drummer i've ever seen and heard live and me too i miss PT like Snowy Ambar. Any chance to see them back again ?
Why would you not use Marco Minnemann? He was the drummer in the recording.
Marco was the drummer during the European leg of the tour, and then Craig Blundell took over when they toured the Americas.
My favourite ice cream is chocolate, but this is also irrelevant.
I can't get enough of this song. I can listen to it a hundred times and still never get bored of it. Steven Wilson is a badass composer with his awesome music arrangements. I saw him in San Francisco, he put on an amazing concert.

well said !
You must remember Porcupine Tree is Steven Wilson. Try listening again. "Sleep Together" worked for me.
We were at the Atlanta show 12/18. Could have died right then. Very special.
Best that you give Porcupine Tree another shot as that's what is coming next. Pure genius
@@agtbruinsman7190 LOL, I have in the time since I wrote that actually become a big PT fan and I am beyond psyched for C/C and to see them on tour (hopefully) in 2022 - my daughter has come to love SW and PT as well, she’s going to go with me!
In the 60 and 70 we had Steve Winwood! And now: we have Steven Wilson, and just good music goes on and on! 😈😀😈
Great live show, great song, great sound. you know a show has impact when you're still thinking about it weeks afterwards.
This an epic, classic ageless album that was just born in front of our eyes. I will remember this concert at Mexico City until the day I die.
I think Craig blundell does a great job on the drums,I have seen SW 3times twice with Craig &once with mm,huge respect to both.
RIP Joyce Vincent, which this album was written about. Not a piece of music, but an emotion!
The man is unique, hope to see another blu Ray concert soon.
saw this performance twice in SF Ca. would love to have had another go..prob one of the best musical experiences I ever had ..and I've had a lot ...a very lot!! if I had to choose it would be this ...
Go Get "em, Dave Kilminster!
Maravilloso... Genius, talented and extremely rigorous with live sound... That's why it sounds so perfect... Next week! Santiago, Chile!
Steven Wilson and Band . The Best 👍
Silke D.
I still ❤️ this so much and these were my favorite band members for HCE. I saw it with GGoven and MMinnemann but Dave Kilminster and Craig Blundell were just perfect!
My favorite song of all time !
AMAZING PERFORMANCE

The mighty Mellotron speaks, and organized Hell breaks loose,, Supperb
Wow, thank you so much for this!!!!! He is such a gift to our ears. Truly an underrated genius.
Sublime.
very beautifull
OK, if no one else will.... I'm gonne praise Nick Beggs. OMG what a boss on the bass (and chapstick depending on the track). But as always... bass lines and bass players are so underrated and underappreciated, unfortunately.
Youre spot on!
Absolutely. He's really taken to the Chapman Stick. To the point of developing it!
Lovely fella, too. I feel quite privileged to have been having some cool chats on twiXXer.
Awesome stuff. Definitely hearing Rush influence
And some things are perfect. Perfect moments.
I cannot recommend seeing Steven in concert strongly enough. I caught this tour twice and was blown out of my seat both times. Sadly he is not coming to a city close enough to me for me to catch the To The Bone tour, but I would see it if I could!
I saw this tour twice too , wish I could get one more ... truly amazing !!
Hearing a lot of Xanadu in parts of this Very Rush influenced
Excellent!. I really like a lot this song and the entire HCE

Simply fantastic!
El hard rock sinfónico nunca morirá (Ritchie Blackmore 1976).
whowwwww wonderfull...
I hope in Bristol he's music has bin in my life for 15 years
Maravilloso.
Cannot. Erase. oltre il progressive, secondo me.
SAW THIS LAST NIGHT IN COPENHAGEN. I'VE SEEN SW AND PT MANY TIMES BEFORE...ALWAYS SUBLIME...BUT LAST NIGHT WAS BEYOND SUBLIME!!!
If I had talent and I could be in anyone's band in the world right now I would want it to be Steven WIlson's.
Thank you!.
Buenísimo tema!!!!!
This deserves way more views!!!
+RodHammett95 Agree, some of the best music today. I've been a PT/SW fan for some time now.
Muy buen concierto
Thanks for uploading!
Happy birthday man.
Mr Wilson please, PLEASE COME TO ARGENTINA
You cross the schoolyard with your head held down
And walk the streets under the breaking cloud
With a 100 futures cascading out
It's complicated
You think of love as just a memory
A fog that smothers you, its hard to breathe
But when you're on your own that's when you're free
You're three years older
And you'll always be now
I can feel you more than you really know
I will love you more than I'll ever show
There was a time when someone seemed to care
A tourist in your bed you left him there
You found a simple life with no-one to share
It's not complicated
You make a list of all your big regrets
You share with people that you never met
You slowly move towards the medicine chest
You're three years older
And you'll always be now
I can feel you more than you really know
I will love you more than I'll ever show
You only have to say
And the world will slip away
From you
Shame on you for getting older every day
This place is not for you so why do you still stay?
You stand there with the other fuckers in the rain
Life is not some sinecure for you to pay
You have to pay
I can feel you more than you really know
I will love you more than I'll ever show
You only have to say
And the world will slip away
From you
video dude couldnt catch the killer bass riff? Its the hook throughout the entire song. Love this tune. SW and PT are favs.
maestros
FROM YOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
adam moog/holzer's piano solo is just.. wow
Should have told that to the young lady this Album is dedicated to.. majic carpet ride to Death before 30. in Brent x shopping centre Flats/apartments anothher part of dystopian London .Not some Hipster`s Paradice
Still miss Gavin and Colin...
Gavin and Colin were never in Steven Wilson's solo project
The Ending !
So ....6 out of 107,001 viewers somehow managed to dislike this video. .00059%. Sure feel sorry for them.
If anything is genius, it is this one. Pink Floyd, Genesis revisited, reinvented
intro sounds like Rush
When i heard this album live the windows were projected for litterally 15 minutes
yeah! haha it felt like forever, but it was totally worth the wait.
Megan Swanson Definitely Worth it, no questioning that. What show were you at?
This one in Los Angeles
+Megan Swanson Ah. i was at the first one, in Mass
Nice
Marcos drumming is really missing in this one. still great.
Marcos is great and for a while was awesome with SW , but the energy got lost with them ...
30 years from now, will people still listen to this and think wow, this is as good or better than anything Rush, Zeppelin or Pink Floyd ever did? Corporate controlled radio is stifling music.
