- I visit one of the most relaxed, laidback cities in all of China, if not the world!
I travel to the coastal city of Xiamen, in Fujian Province, which is in my opinion one of the most chill cities in the whole of the country, and take a stroll around the once-polluted Yundang Lake, right in the middle of the city.
I see for myself how the ecosystem has been revitalised, bringing back thousands and thousands of beautiful birds to the area; especially the beautiful ‘bailu’ or white egrets.
Whether you're a nature enthusiast, environmental advocate, or simply curious about incredible transformations taking place in China, this video is for you!

Chinese gov did spent huge effort to deal with pollution, spent effort to make the city clean and green. How ever the mainstream media never report the improvement and keep the images of 1980s.
Nothing new in this Western dominated media world.
Yet, ignorant foreigners will still demonise the communist government
forget western medias and western regimes esp U$UK, whilst they constantly pour energy into wars and hate propaganda, global south should just move on into the future.

閩菜 Fujian Cuisines, just like neighbouring Cantonese Cuisines, are one of the famous cuisines in China which more acceptable for foreigners, as it tastes not so strong and using less spices comparing to, for example, Sichuan or Hunan cuisines

I have watched Stu‘s other Fujian videos (beautiful villages, beaches which are tourist attractions) and I feel Fujian province really has some beautiful places who have calming, relaxing, romantic vibes very good for vacation and retirement too. If I am correct Fujian province, maybe except Xiamen, is not among the top popular provinces for domestic tourists. However, I think Fujian province definitely has more attractive places not yet being developed for tourism. Btw, Xiamen was voted one of top liveable cities in China. The places in this video also reminds of Tianchi in Kunming.

According to news report, Xiamen city young mayor went to visit Singapore to find out how Singapore could become a beautiful and clean city with 5 million people living in a small area. He used Singapore model to build up Xiamen city . It showed when a government official in China wants to learn from others to improve his country or cities , he will succeed. Deng Xiaping also went o Singapore to learn how to improve China economy.

they didnt just visit Singapore in the early yrs of development but also check out other countries . They took whats best for their country and also studied the bad mistakes of other countries so that they also know what not to do in their implementation..
@@nanyanguo1 The Chinese government used to send all their talented young officials to SG for training programs in urban studies and management. They didn't send them to other countries. You might have confused diplomatic delegations for actual training programs.

Countries in the early stage of development and urbanisation will not have enough pple with the knowledge, experience n skills to perform their tasks . So quite common for these countries to send their pple overseas for training . China was no exception . They could send their officials to western countries or japan for the same type of training but Singapore would be more cost savings n wont have language problem for them ..

ive lived in xiamen for 9 years since i was 5 and its amazing however the only issue is because of covid 90% of the foreigners left including all my friends

Have you been to Xiamen recently to know that it has an air pollution problem? Furthermore, have you been to China recently? If air is extremely polluted, the far away objects like buildings would be fuzzy but they can be clearly seen in the video. Also, Xiamen is a coastal city. Have you lived close to the ocean before? If you have, then you would understand what marine layer is all about. When there is marine layer, the entire sky would appear gray. Sometimes when the layer is thick you wouldn't be able to see the sun or blue sky until after noon. Finally, there are plenty of videos from other TH-camrs on Xiamen and you should be able to come to the conclusion that pollution is not an issue in Xiamen. I suspect you are just a member of the China bad camp.
