- 阿克苏苹果……搓澡巾、挖耳勺？！超爽拆箱来了。中国好吃的配英国冷笑话，和英国爸妈一起过圣诞！祝大家圣诞快乐！
It's Christmas time once again! And once again I am unable to go to Britain to see my family :(
But that's not going to stop me from sending my mom and dad a Christmas present. Alongside the foot massager that they opened early (I said they could), I've also sent a huge box of Chinese food and useful everyday things. And today they're going to OPEN THAT BOX!
PLUS (spoiler alert) inside the box is a candy-heart apple from Aksu, Xinjiang. So, seeing as it's Christmas, I thought I'd share the Chinese custom of eating an apple (or pingguo) on Christmas Eve (pinganye) with my mom and dad.

mmm... lotus root starch is so good for winter, especially damp winters. btw, if your parents are able to save the other bottle of jiu niang, if they have an asian market around that sells sweet dumplings (tangyuan), cook the tangyuan in boiling water, then heat up the jiuniang and put the dumplings in jiuniang and serve. it's a popular winter and CNY dessert we have in Jiangnan region. that or do the tangyuan in the ginger brown sugar drink. either way, very warming dessert.

酒釀除了煮湯圓之外，也可煮鷄蛋，將酒釀加水煮滾，倒一兩個鷄蛋下去，蓋好鍋蓋，熄火悶幾分鐘即可食用，酒釀雞蛋屬溫補食物，冬天多吃身體暖和
多给老两口买点吃的吧，最近那个新冠变种真是吓人…我在Leeds，我好多同学都感染。吓得我圣诞前一天囤了一个月的食物在家。
