Been waiting for your new beach gears your videos are addictive please don’t stop reviewing beach gears. I’d will love to see gears that are light weight easy carry for people who don’t have car but still want to bring foldable table, chair and sun protector. 💕
I love your reviews, thanks! I’m a beach rat and always looking for the best gear to make the experience more comfortable. I have a Neso Grande, but sort of hate filling up the sand anchor bags and dialing in the exact right amount of stretch, etc. I thought about trying out the large Orange Screws to anchor, but saw your other review where they popped out…I believe you were using the smaller Orange Screw when that happened though? I’m still tempted to try the large screws on a light wind day. The Neso is handy to have when I want more coverage for several friends. The Solbello, on the other hand, appeals to me because it has such a small “footprint,” which is more ideal on a crowded beach during the summer. The only thing I dislike is that the shade patch will travel as the sun moves, which would require picking up and re-staking the blanket. But perhaps that is less of a pain than filling sand anchor bags! LOL
One thing I like about the Shibumi, is it so light, you can't even tell you're carrying it. Another is is the sun is low or late in the season, you can lower the shade by just spacing the ends of the rod further apart (requires building a small mound of sand around them)
The Solbelo looks interesting and a bit cheaper on Amazon than the Shibumi mini. My only concern with the Solbello is having it move around whenever the wind shifts a bit. With it being 8x8 I can imagine I’d be constantly repositioning myself to stay under the shade.
@@BeachGearGuy Agreed. I own one and the sea breeze doesn't change that much. Also, I love that there is no pole right in the middle of your shade like with an umbrella. Ours got lost somehow and I am about to order another one. Just came here to check with the expert and make sure there is not something new to consider.🏖👍
@@greg2865 Soon, I'll be checking out a new beach shade called the Jobean ShadeSock, which is similar to the Solbello. They just started selling it on Amazon.
@@BeachGearGuy Thanks for the heads-up. I saw that one. It looks interesting but the sock works by catching the wind. Seems to me that would make it more susceptible to strong winds. The way it is assembled also gives me concern. The Solbello has been perfect for us and even the flapping noise some people report is inaudible to us. I ordered another Solbello.
Thanks for the question and the sub! I thought I knew the answer to your question, but I went to my beach gear shack yesterday to make sure. The Hammering Stake is compatible with the Solbello Shade. The Ammsun hanging hooks and table tray are not compatible with the Hammering stake or the Solbello base pole, but you can use them with the top pole.
We're just back from a week in Emerald Isle, NC... and I can tell you, the Nesos were collapsing in the 15mph winds left and right while the Shibumis all stayed up and functioning. 😊👍
Have you reviewed the sun sail shade versus the shibumi or something similar. I'm curious how effective the auger stakes and different shape perform. They say it's more stable and much quieter.
@@BeachGearGuy they are similar but I think the sunsail shade has the additional bonus of a tapered shape that supposedly reduces wind noise. The original Beach shade uses the same type of auger feet but has the same shape of sale that shaboomi does.
@@adamjohnson6430 The Sunsail Shade has a cool, streamlined design, but from what I can see online, it doesn't provide as much shade as the Shibumi or the Beach Shade. I'll have to try it for myself to see if it's less noisy.
Did you compare decibels between the Shabumi and the Solbello ? I own an original Shabumi, and I am curious, would consider purchasing the Solbello if it is significantly less. Thanks for the comparisons!
I haven't used a decibel meter but the Solbello Shade is quieter than my OLD Shibumi Shade, but I bought a new Shibumi which is supposed to be quieter than the original. I'll do a comparison soon.
I lived at the beach for 25 years. Nobody wants to hear your sheet blowing in the wind . There are days when the wind does not blow , both of these are losers, get an umbrella with a steal frame and sunbrella material or a cool cabana Ar

Thanks! If you keep watching, I'll keep making them! 😀
I second! Don't you dare stop!
This is an incredible channel, I'm pretty sure there is nothing else like it. Was looking at something else originally but got enthralled.
Cool! Thanks! I appreciate it!
Cant wait for the new reviews this season!
Oh man I think the solbello is the shibumi killer 😳 and thanks for another great video!!
Thanks, George!
Neat concept. Wind at the beach is usually a constant, so this makes sense.
I like not having to think about the wind direction when I set it up. It's just going to adjust to the wind on its own.
Got my wife a Solbello Shade for Christmas, also have a new Useitt umbrella. We'll be trying them out on the Gulf coast soon. Time for some fun!
Cool! You'll be prepared for a calm or breezy day at the beach!
That solbello shade is nice. Very neat that it can adjust to a changing wind
Yeah! Never have to think about which way the wind is blowing when you set it up.
I agree. Just bought one 😊
Moving to fl soon. Can’t wait to test some windy gear!
Cool!
You were on TV before? 😮I’m not surprised! You have a soothing voice!
Thanks, Teairra!
That was epic!
A lady walks up wearing jeans and a winter jacket, while you are wearing summer beach clothes! 😂
Subscribed Sir 😁
Thanks for the sub! My poor mom is always cold. 🥶

Thanks, Colleen! The Solbello Shade is great. It's so easy to set up, but you're right about the shade patch moving down the beach later in the day.
Loving these video, keep up the great work! regards,
Shane.
Thanks, Shane. I appreciate that!
The shibumi mini is 30+ UPF but the new shibumi shade regular is 50+ UPF after some fabric redesigns and it’s supposed to be quieter
I read that on the website. That's why I refer to it as the Original Shibumi Shade. I would buy the new Shibumi, but it's up to $270.
One thing I like about the Shibumi, is it so light, you can't even tell you're carrying it. Another is is the sun is low or late in the season, you can lower the shade by just spacing the ends of the rod further apart (requires building a small mound of sand around them)

Unless the wind change is dramatic, I haven't needed to reposition myself if I sit close to the center of the shade.

We need a Solbello vs. Neso Video!!!
Good idea, Max!

can you make the solbelo closer to the ground?
It's not adjustable, but you can always try twisting the auger further down into the sand.

Looks like it could be funny following the square shade patch around behind the Solbello.
Still team Neso.
LOVE your channel.
🤣Thanks, Dashnj!
Where is this beach
I'm in Cape Cod Bay, Massachusetts.
Link for Solbello?

The noise hahahahaha very comfortable ah?
I hope you are right about sobello
Did you buy one?
Yes but has not come yet
I am making homemade shibumi also and if shibumi works I may send sobello back not sure

Phish LOL. Oh the memories…
My first Phish comment! Oh yes...so many memories...Thanks, Jen. 🐟
Hmm. You know how flag get shredded at the flappy edge?
Yes?
I would hate the noise.

That means you really love the music....deep down you know you do.
@@BeachGearGuy it’s so true and your salesman voice is killer too lololol
Thank you. I've had this voice since I was 13.
Got plenty of wind - I let it out after every meal..
Just discovered shibumi and solbello are banned at Myrtle Beach for summer. Between memorial day and labor day.
That’s crazy! I wonder why.
