I have scoured the internet for a review of the Shibumi wind assist. Love the light weight and small foot print of the Shibumi but don't want to be left in the wind, or lack there of, after making such a large purchase.
I hadn't even heard of the Solbello. Nice design. I already got a the Shibumi mini, but Solbello is now on my want list. Thanx for all the beach gear videos!

Yeah! You know I'm a Neso fan, too, but I've been using the Solbello when I need to set up something fast on a windy day for myself and a beach buddy.
Shibumi is offering a Wind Assist accessory now, to help provide shade in low-wind conditions. I love my Shibumi and soooo glad that accessory is coming out just to have on-hand (even though we've only experienced one windless day).
Is it loud flapping in the wind?
@Jevababy25 I don't have the wind assist yet, just the original shibumi shade. It can be loud in strong winds but usually the noise doesn't bother me. If you like the beach to hear the water crashing, you may want to try the new shibumi they have out that is supposed to be quieter. I haven't seen or heard one of those yet, so not sure how big of a difference it makes.
@Jevababy25 Also, it is so much easier to set up than three 3 umbrellas our beach crew was having to use to provide the same amount of shade. Plus, on really strong wind days, our umbrellas were moving too much, and we were having to reinforce them. Don't have that problem with the Shibumi. Easier to travel with, as well.

Thanks, yap! I would take the Shibumi Mini: th-cam.com/video/CTrWz-5HJSE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rb8PKUuUPYS34XO3. It's easy to set up, big enough for two people on beach chairs, and fits in a suitcase or carry-on. You just need a minimum three mph breeze for it to work.

Gets me thinking Beach guy --- What are the best beach cabanas out there? Quipi & amsun are some amazon brands but they seem lower quality than cool cabana

Out on beach 1st time using the shibumi...breeze isn't consistent enough to keep it up. Wouldn't recommend it based on my 1st experience, especially for what i paid for it.

Can you do a comparison between solbello and the sunshade sail?
My Neso Grande is a fail. I am so disappointed in that. Not sure what to trust anymore. It works great camping with ground screws, but I've never been able to use it in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

I love the shibumi. It's very overpriced for what it is but it is so nice to have singing so light that just works. Its worth it but it is overpriced
I dont live on a coast, so I dont know. Is it often windy at the beach so it is worth buying?
Thanks for the question. East Coast beaches are typically breezy enough to keep these beach shades flowing. However, as you can see in the video, I have experienced a few days with no breeze.
I live in eastern NC, go to the beach fairly often and own a Shibumi. On a typical day the beaches along the Cape Lookout National Seashore will be literally blanketed in Shibumis. I've never experienced a day in which there wasn't more than enough wind to keep it flying. It and the pole fits in the small bag shown in the video, which is great because it takes up a negligible amount of room in my boat.
Great video but they are BOTH ridiculously overpriced.

It's actually okay for conversations. I had some senior citizens sitting under it on a breezy day, and they were conversing just fine.

These "shades" are the most obnoxious thing on the beach, the constant flapping sound is beyond aggravating! They need to come up with something that does not make that horrendous flapping sound!!!!
Shibumi has a new quiet canopy option
It's not bad. I love mine. I'm most annoyed by loud stupid music and foul mouthed people. The sound of wine blowing fabric isn't bad at all
