So glad you’re back. I bought the Neso grande (plus two extra poles) based on your recommendation two years ago. I’m thinking of purchasing the cool cabana as an alternate option (smaller footprint) Thanks for your reviews!!
What would you recommend for a shade device for two to lay down under thats easy to set up and can be packed in a suitcase. I’m going on a Christmas beach vacation and want to stay in the shade 😎 Thanks for your hard work!
Thanks for the question. I would check out the Shibumi or the Shibumi mini. th-cam.com/video/CTrWz-5HJSE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=odBegBKq1oRYl6mV th-cam.com/video/keKrKd_uows/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KUHuY_3ZpnJnCAV6 Let me know what you think.
Thanks again!!! I received my cool cabana. Planning to try it out this weekend. Would you recommend using an anchoring holder in the sand for additional safety?? Maybe the hammering stake type??
Cool! You could try using an anchor holder, but I have found that the sand spike works well on its own. Sometimes, I'll kick some sand around the center pole and pack it down with my foot to help with stability. I hope you have a safe and fun weekend at the beach!
We really appreciate your videos! You are our #1 resource when we buy beach gear. We purchased an XL Cool Cabana last year. Any recommendations for what beach cart would hold that? We live on the Gulf Coast (soft sand). Thanks @beachgearguy!
Thanks! I'm proud to be your number-one resource for beach gear! I've always had to angle my beach cabanas to get them to fit in my beach carts. I've go my eye out for new beach carts with balloon wheels. I'll let you know if I find a beach wagon that will hold the XL CoolCabana.
I checked out the Sunbuster cabana on the LL Bean website. I would go with the Qipi or the Ammsun beach cabana instead. th-cam.com/video/YIfDPWumRz4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QIRapxfAEJ2QEU2E th-cam.com/video/Shekq1ORfyE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ySLgDa8bLPNjKELU
Very helpful, but do you have any idea of the difference between the Dark Shelter LX and the Silver Shelter XL? I can't seem to find anything clearly explaining the differences in the models. Not to mention there is the Instant Shader Deluxe and Instant Shader Enhanced. I'm confused. Help! Lol. You seem to be more helpful that the actual website.
Thanks! All of the beach shades you mentioned are the same size. I like the Easthills Outdoors Instant Shader Silver Shelter XL because the silver exterior reflects the sun and the black interior that blocks it. I get into more details in this video: th-cam.com/video/Zb6k3kWW5jY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EIx2P0muqEQuB12J Hope this helps.
@@BeachGearGuy Thanks a lot. I watched a lot of your videos today, and now I’m also thinking maybe the Cool Cabana canopy is the way to go because the tents may be hot. Two quick questions. Do you find the tent to be hot and how much wind can the Cool Cabana withstand based on your observations over the past few years? Thanks!
@@Max529-i2n All half-dome beach tents will feel warm inside on a hot day with no breeze. I've used the Cool Cabana in 13 mph winds but I would recommend having a helper when setting it up in those conditions.
Hi, did you ever try out this beach canopy? (Red Suricata Family Beach Tent & Beach Canopy, UPF50 Sun Beach Shade, Sunshade with 4 Aluminum Poles, 4 Pole Anchors & Sand Shovel, Large & Portable Sun Shelter Tarp) I am trying to decide between this one and the Neso Grande. Just was wondering about your opinion about the Red Suricata vs. Neso if you had one. Love your videos! Thanks so much!
I'm glad you wrote me this. I've been meaning to make a Red Suricata vs. Neso Grande video, but I've been busy with other reviews. Now, you've just given me the motivation to actually do it. I bought a Red Suricata about three years ago, and I've used it three times. Between the two, I would go with the Neso for sure. It's better overall. The only benefit I see with the Red Suricata is that it comes with four poles. But if you buy two extra Neso poles, you'll still save $30 if you go with the Neso Grande.
Through your recommendation I bought the Cool Cabana. But I do realize it doesn't work for all scenarios. I'm looking to get a different shade a some point.
I kind of wish how you showed they were packaged/carreid … bc if it’s in a pack it’s easier to carry … now I have to look all these up still 🫠 but at least I have a list to st try with
I have detailed reviews and set-up videos (which include carrying bag weights and measurements) on my channel. I've linked these videos in the video description. I'm sure you'll find them extremely entertaining and helpful. 😁
As a 62 year old Beach goer I found your reviews across the board the best. Entertaining and informative...great job my friend 👍👏
Hello, fellow beachgoer! I really appreciate you saying that. Thank you very much!

I'm going to be reviewing the Big Tuna in May and I'm looking forward to it!
Awesome thanks mate
Any time!

50mph lol. Honey get the sunscreen the sand is in my eyes 😂😂. Well done as always
Thanks! I usually get sand in my mouth. 😝
Would you be willing to review the LL Bean Sunbuster cabana? It has a side shade, which I want, but I'm not sure how sturdy it is. Thank you!

What a video, man.

Any reviews on the soli canopy. I have had multiple cool cabanas. Looking to make the switch.
I'll have a Soli first-look review on the channel for you tomorrow.

An umbrella is my limit. Usually I'm too drunk to pack all that stuff up by the end of the day. Which beach do you record your videos?
😆It's a common issue. I'm in Cape Cod Bay, Massachusetts.
@@BeachGearGuy I moved to SW Florida almost 6 years ago for year round beach days.
If I were to move, SW Florida would definitely be on my shortlist.
