Sir, i have maybe 30 turkeys now. The problem here, they have sick something have grown on their body like a small piece of skin problem. Can i get some tips from you, how to prevent these types of problem. How frequent should be the disinfecting process? Thanks. I am a filipino turkey local breader.

I raised my first Blue Slates this year. Harvested 4 for Thanksgiving. I have three toms and four hens left. Hoping to add new genetics next year! They are so fun and sweet.
We've watched P Allen Smith for years and since moving to Arkansas, we've put Moss Mountain Farm on our to-do list.

We got a pair of Narragansett this year. I never had turkeys before and I was intimidated by their size but now since I raised my Bonnie and Clyde I love them! I
Love their sweet personalities! They are smart and very curious and so sweet! Very protective of the chickens and great watch dogs. Not as neurotic as the chickens. We got them as a hawk deterrent and it worked. We haven’t lost a hen to hawks since then. They are calm and majestic! I want more of them. Clyde doesn’t like my husband tho. I think he thinks he is protecting me somehow. 😁🦃🦃🦃🦃
I really enjoyed that. I’ve been watching some of the homesteaders dealing with the heritage breeds and I think it’s a really righteous effort.

In Egypt pigeons are considered poultry.

Breeding bourbons here, now i think i will keep my bronze and get him some ladies next yr. I started a small poultry farm of essential high productive birds. I now look forward having 2 breeds of turkeys. I decided on bourbon turkeys to keep the breed going here in my new home KY. Thank you for the beautiful video and my bronze Edward says thanks too!
Thank you for this video, we just started a small flock this year with 5 blue slate and 2 Holland white. I am loving the markings on the blue slates! We will be saving some for mating, so appreciate your pointers on selection.

Here in north Idaho there is no shortage of wild turkeys. I'll be getting 10 bourbon red and 10 blue slate this next spring! I'll be keeping a few for breeding.
This year I am starting with the Beltsville Small White Turkeys. I am getting close to choosing the breeders for next year. So I am looking forward to that. I have 14 birds now. Planning to keep the 2 best looking Toms and the best looking hens. The rest I will go to freezer Camp or Noodle pot as you say. Great video thanks.

we raise and breed Beltsville Whites that are on the critical list. they are the smartest birds we have ever had. very hard to find and if you can your very blessed to have them. excellent layers, and mothers as well. great size, and was told excellent ""eating"" - tho i dont eat them, :) i wish more would try to help save the ones that could end up being lost forever.
I have turkeys out by me, however less of last year and I haven't seen them this year. I live in a very wooded area and they've always stop traffic on my road, and people shout, lay on their horns, get out of their cars to shoo them away, whatever. We do have coyotes sightings as well, so who knows what has happened.
The first time I had ever seen them was because I heard this unfamiliar noise. I went out back and there were 10 of them, feasting on something in the yard.
I took several pics of them as they followed eachother marching back out through my front yard.
And that's no "turkey" there, Tom 🦃 😄
Thank you for making this. I'm looking into getting several heritage breed turkeys to add to the ranch and this was helpful. I'm leaning towards the Royal Palm and Blue 💙 Slate to start with, but I do like those solid black ones, too. It's difficult to get just half a dozen turkey 🦃 chicks as many won't send less than 15.
We just got 3 Spanish black in October and plan to get more in spring. We would like to raise them and the Narragansett. Could you show their housing or direct us to some resources on the best housing for them. We are in southern Colorado, so we do get wind and snow but it isn't too harsh of a climate and rarely below zero.
I have 2 heritage turkeys
A brown and white Tom
And a white hen 9 weeks old
I plan to mate them and make
A separate coop and a large yard.
I have 48 acres and find raising
Birds a calming experience.
I've recently purchased a few hens since there there were no Tom's available. Was told they were bourbon and bourbon mix. Based on your informative videos determined I have 3 bronze hens and possibly 2 chocolate hens. The chocolate hens are completely brown with no white like the bourbon. Would definitely be intrested in finding a chocolate tom... Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
My turkeys are extremely smart friendly with people have strong personalitys but they are definatley the boss and sometimes mean to the ducks and chickens.

Really enjoyed this video! Beautiful birds. Is there a point when you reach a weight status when the birds become to large that they can't walk kinda like what they did to the Rock Cornish Cross that one raises for chicken meat birds? Kinda genetic fault?
I watched this video twice. I discovered the reason my aunt didn't seem to kill turkeys. She was breeding them; and selling the poults to other breeders and farmers. They were never sold for the table per say.
How come that they don't fly out??
We had some Bourbon Reds who would fly into small trees and on top of our ladder rack on the truck...
Speaking of banding your birds, can you tell me what size bands you guy put on your geese? I am getting embden, pilgrim, and regular toulouse. I want to band them cause they gonna be my pets and breeders.
My aunt raised the white variety; I used to visit the farm with my father as a kid. I don't think she ever sold or killed one. They must have been pets? Seems there were more birds each time we came to their family farm. I know the pigs were slaughtered, we got the smoked hams!
Where is the best place to purchase turkeys from? I am getting into raising chickens and ducks and want to add heritage breed turkeys!
Do you clip their wings to keep them home? We don't like to clip wings on our birds for predator safety reasons but I'm wondering if it's necessary for heritage turkeys.

I have a pair of royal palm turkeys for breeding. All eggs have hatched out black (normal Color) BUT this morning one hatched out light yellow!?? Does anyone know why?

I need to stop watching your videos. I already ordered wayyyyyy to many birds this year… the turkeys I got are broadbreasted for meat, but now I’m thinking I want 6 or 7 heritage flock running around the property…
