I'm so excited to have found your channel! We are new to turkeys. We have a Blue Slate Tom (Slater), a bronze female and a Royal palm female. They Started laying about a month after we got them & now we have at least 11 fertilized eggs in the incubator! We are nervous new turkey parents and want to do everything we can do to optimize their health & survival. I know turkeys can be a bit tricky to raise...especially if you're used to chickens, like we are. Love your free range tips & feed tips too! keep'em coming.
I really love your videos. I have two black poults that I’m head over heels in love with. I also have eggs in my incubator that are a cross of black and BB bronze. One more week to go and I can’t wait to see if they look like black Spanish!
I’ve got 9 rusty slates I hatched out that I’m growing up to breed to one of my bourbon red toms, turns out when breeding rusty slates to bourbon reds, it throws 8 different colors of turkeys including semi jersey buffs! If you are interested in all that stuff look up porters rare heritage turkeys hes got a ton of cool info on turkey genetics and even a color calculator!
Our Tom is a Narraganset. He mates with a Royal Palm, Slate, Bronze, and Spanish hen. Do you know the names of any of those mixes? What do you think about those mixes?
i crossed the royal palm with the wild form and got 2 spanish black 3 royal palm 1 white and 6 undefined from all waht. In the 2d generation i got from the white hen 6 red palm looking hens and 1 little tom-tom undefined colours but big. So the spanish black are bigger and stronger then their father, a royal palm. He is aggressive but his sons keeping him away from me. If that isnt evidence for their integrity and loyalty then i dont know. I saw the confidence of your turkeys in you , i know that from mine. yeah..nice feedback )
Theres a lit of false info and guessing going on here. You need to research genetics and look up these colors before you call them a certain name. The ones you called "Red Palm" in the beginning, were actuall Red Bronze, Rusty Blue, and Nargansett (in order of appearance). None of them look anything like Red Palm, which you will never get from just from crossing two heritsge breeds. It takes at least 3-4 generations to isolate true Red Palm after initially crossing Royal Palm to Bourbon Red. Then you called a plain blue, a "blue palm", which again it looked nothing like a blue palm and a Blue Palm is another multigeneration product. I got frustrated and turned it off after that.

If I breed exact mixed breeds will it duplicate ?
Flower looks alot like my girl Lovey Royal Palm female x Bronze male
Why not call it a royal slate instead of a blue palm? Sounds more exotic
