Been going to Las Vegas since the late 90’s and tried almost every buffet Flamingo, Imperial Palace, Stardust, Bacchanal, Treasure Island, Bally’s, Rio Seafood & Carnival, Wynn, Stratosphere, Paris, Palms ….. and Luxor is one of the worse.
I did lunch there years ago on a myVegas promo. Better than the old Monte Carlo one, but definitely near the bottom. Self-serve drinks were a plus, tho😁
It didn’t seem so bad to me for $14. I’m pretty picky as I don’t eat pork, fish, other seafood, chicken, shredded beef, turkey, and about 80% of vegetables. But I still saw a decent amount of stuff that I think I could eat. I love ground beef, tacos, nachos, eggs, biscuits and any kind of gravy (except sausage gravy), buttered rice, refried beans, potatoes, burgers, fries, pastas of every type, spaghetti sauce, Alfredo sauce, breadsticks, rolls, cornbread, fruits of all type, iceberg lettuce salads with shredded cheese, hard boiled eggs, chic peas, green peas, green beans, kidney beans, croutons, variety of dressings, potato salad, pasta salad, macaroni salad, black olives, feta cheese, any kind of cheese pizza: puffy, square, New York, thin crust, Chicago, Detroit, etc. i could even eat those brownies with enough soft serve and fudge sauce on them! It seemed like they had a least some of that type stuff on there. In your vast experience, what’s the best and worst buffets in the following categories: 1) under $20 2) $20-$35 3) $35-$50 4) over $50
Ruby taking one for the team at the Luxor dessert section. Thanks for being strong for us so we don’t have to, Ruby. I heard Mr. Ruby trying to contain his laughter on that one haha.
I watch your videos often. I feel like I can be in Vegas whenever I want. I feel like we are hanging out. These are very relaxing for me. Thanks a million
I absolutely love your honesty! It is much appreciated. Overall, I don't believe the presentation of the bill of fare at each station was attractive or even appetizing. The dessert station was particularly unappealing. Your review was quick and to the point!
Your channel popped up in my algorithm recently. Good timing as I'm taking my son to Vegas in less than 2 months. You have a lot of useful information.
I worked at the Luxor from 2005-2008 right across from the buffet. My co-worker and I used to go to the buffet often. It was really good back then. Not sure what happened
Thanks for your videos. My boyfriend and I are currently planning a Vegas long weekend getaway in mid-January for my birthday. It's my first time in Vegas so I'm immersing myself in everything there is to do and see so we can make the most of our time. We are planning on staying at the Luxor. If we eat at the buffet, we will be sure to avoid the desserts.
If youre going to gamble and party, stay on Fremont Street. If you're going to sightsee and catch shows, you'd be better off staying at the Flamingo or Linq in the center strip area. The south end of the strip where the MGM hotels are require an Uber or a very long walk to go anywhere meaningful.
I liked the Luxor buffet a lot more than Mandalay Bay. The decor at Luxor was a lot more fun. I always wait in line for an omlette. Thanks for another fun video.
What I have always been told and have tried first hand is to get the cook to make you scrambled eggs fresh on the skillet. That way you know they are always fresh and not the premixed eggs that come in eggs and they cook in a big batch.
Great review. I was just there (only did a breakfast plate), and pretty much agree with your take. Wish I knew about the chorizo eggs. Not bad for the price, and I had Resort Credit to use anyway, so it just cost me the price of the tip. Better than breakfast from Backstage Deli, and not really much more in price.
I've taken my family there a couple of times. The theme is great and is why I like it so much. The food is good. It's fun to watch my kids wonder around the large area looking for different foods to try. I agree that desserts are the weakest point, kind of blah, but my kids didn't seem to care.
Great biscuits and gravy back home...Mad Rooster Cafe. I love em. Another great video. You're honesty is everything. Brave lady trying sushi from the buffet.
Went this week and the dessert section has gotten so much better. I liked everything I tried and I didn't see any of these out there. I had a real tiramisu, a caramel cheesecake and a classic cream puff.
Good to know about the buffet there.... My best option to the buffet is the Irish Bar to eat at, in the walkway between the Luxor and Mandalay Bay.. I always need a beer while dining. 🍻
We got deeply discounted tickets for Carrot Top performing at the Luxor. So ventured over there from the Wynn. Man, that guy has morphed into a freak. Around mid-show (which was lousy) he started getting a REALLY bad case of roid rage with an audience member who heckled him. It was so uncomfortable we walked out. Ugh, the lobby was filthy, the furniture was tacky plastic....and by tacky I mean actually STICKY. Very sketchy place. Either that's the vibe they're going for......or we just hit it on a bad night.
I've stayed at Luxor quite a few times, and the buffet has definitely taken a step down since it was reopened. And to top it off, the price has risen quite a bit from pre-pandemic times. It's still decent for hot breakfasts at the American and Mexican stations, IMHO. Would I pay $$ for it any longer? No. I do get a $100 food and beverage credit when I go, and I use it for the buffet. There are better places to eat at the property.
If we go to buffets, there's a good chance at least some stuff has been sitting around for a while. The problem is if they keep replacing it, they'll waste much food. If I want something freshly made, I go to a restaurant where they make food per each order instead of a buffet. That said, I am very interested in checking out the buffet at the Wynn (another video), understanding that some items may have been out for a while like with any buffet.
Wife and I tried the MGM Grand Buffet with an MLife BOGO coupon recently and it was fairly similar to this one. Probably worth it for a big breakfast with a BOGO, but most of the rest of it wasn't very good and it wasn't really very big compared to some of the others I've seen in videos.
Nachos for breakfast? No chilaquiles, tamales or menudo? sad. I'd even settle for taquitos IF there was guacamole. Sushi would do if there were actual fish in it, and you left off wasabi/soy sauce/ginger? Oh well, I'll stick with Main St Station next visit. Have you ever done Ellis Island's The Front Yard? It sounds like it might be worth a visit.
We were there last Thursday, the 11 th. Also used the 2 for 1. VIP line is for Pearl and up status. Which is what I am and it was slightly quicker than the regular line.🤷♀️. Even with the discount we won’t go again. (Went back in 2015 and it was good but that was dinner. ) I didn’t try as many items as you did. Asian food was not good. My favs were the coffee, mini donuts, bacon and some spinach and cheese scrambled eggs, and the turkey. Brisket we tried was meh. We went to Excalibur last Monday and it was very good. Waaaaay better. Great review though.
High-tail it outa there!!!! Scary after affects from that desert plate could come back to haunt you. Run! Ruby RUNNNN Thank for the reviews.Your both doing good work.
Ruby you been helping us we are going to Vegas on dec 23th thru 27th l saw under video where you can eat breakfast for less then 10 dlls at the strip since l don’t eat to much l don’t go to the buffets

Nice Review. Funny thing I had a friend who went to Vegas a lot for work this was like 15 years ago & she would go get the buffet lunch at Luxor & get just Salad-which she said nice salad bar & Make Nachos with a 7.50 voucher for lunch.
I just came across your video of the luxor buffet, although it was informative, I can't believe all the negative reviews it got ,my wife and I have eaten at the luxor buffet each time we have stayed here ,we have never had one complaint about the buffet ,and its always had a wide variety of selections of food to choose from and each food station was well stocked with several selections, the food was always hot & fresh we used our my Vegas rewards to redeem the buffet coupons, and ate our breakfast and dinner numerous times, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were always polite and friendly, the last time we stayed in the luxor was 2019 for American Thanksgiving and we ate at the buffet more than once and also at the food court, and at Diaoblos cantina all were great no complaints ,I don't know what all the negative reviews are about here in regards to the luxor buffet, all these people complaining their taste must all be In their mouths ,maybe they should go eat at McDonald's or I Hop ,all these cooks who prepare these meals daily at the buffet are all working to feed thousands of people daily ,so if all these people complaining are not happy with the selections of food ,should go eat somewhere else.
Yea stayed at the Luxor back in 2018 and agree with ya. Breakfast was fine but when I came back for dinner? Lets just say I was hitting up the Johnny Rockets upstairs for the rest of my stay lol
What time of day did you go? Is breakfast served all day long? Is the price and menu the same all day? I am staying there next month. I hope Le Village in Paris is open by then.
I am actually surprised you didn't try the lunch and dinner buffet. I never eat breakfast from there but the dinner and lunch I have. Maybe you should try those next time.
Thank you Ruby for the information! Do you need to make a reservation before you go? And what day (weekday or weekend) and time are best to go for a brunch there? I'm going there because I also got a coupon.
No reservations needed, but expect long lines. Buffet has limited hours 8am-3pm, no dinner service. It's an OK value if you have the coupon, if no coupon go to a restaurant for breakfast, lunch because the buffet regular price is around $30 with tax.
My first visit to Vegas was a belated honeymoon and we stayed at the Luxor shortly after it opened. Didn't do the buffet that trip, but a couple of years later we took her son with us and he and I hit the buffet. It was good basic food. A couple more years pass and we bring our now 16 year old and his cousin. They golfed in the mornings while "we" shopped. Hit the Luxor again. It was still good. (My God can 16 year olds ever pack it away. I thought we were starving him at home) Were staying at the Paris and the buffet was open. When his cousin found out he could eat as much as he wanted, he ate-and I shit you not- 2 heaping plates of bacon on top of a hearty breakfast. Move ahead to 5 years ago and I foolishly took an airline package and stayed at the Luxor. Booked a Pyramid room, got moved to the expansion and it's labyrinth like hallways. Ate at the buffet. BIG mistake. Half the stations were empty (for a very good reason) How do you screw up the most basic foods? I worked in construction camps, not Michelin rated food by any stretch, but it made a lot of people fat. How a company like MGM can have good food at one resort, but absolute garbage at another is a mystery to me. You'd think they would have used the covid downtime to address these issues.
Never eaten at the Luxor. Tend stay at the Linq. A good, cheap buffet is at Circus Circus. Many cheap buffets are gone. May give the Luxor buffet a shot
Nice review Ruby! This buffet seems fine for the price point. Has all the basics covered and not too fancy or overpriced. But you are from Wisconsin and sausage is not your thing?!?
If you enjoyed the video I would very much appreciate if you hit that Subscribe button 😁
Luxor Buffet is going to be a hard pass from me guys..
We were there a few weeks ago and every place we ate was awful.
It's funny how awful this one is yet it always is sold out for the bogo on myvegas😂

After watching this video and your CC video I subscribed to watch your other buffet videos, your honesty is what counts here. Thanks
I watch your videos often. I feel like I can be in Vegas whenever I want. I feel like we are hanging out. These are very relaxing for me. Thanks a million
I'm going to Vegas next year so I have been binge-watching all your video's and I'm finding them extremely informative! Thanks for the content!
The face you made with the dessert section was priceless.
I absolutely love your honesty! It is much appreciated. Overall, I don't believe the presentation of the bill of fare at each station was attractive or even appetizing. The dessert station was particularly unappealing. Your review was quick and to the point!

I make it a point to watch your presentations which are honest and informative.
yum! Biscuits and Gravy all day!
I think you do the best food reviews on TH-cam , you describe it so well ! ☺️
Thank you 😋
You are right on time with this review, we'll be staying at Luxor Fri-Sunday for a fight 🥊We'll definitely try the buffet, you guys rock!
Your level of trust in buffet sushi 🍣 amazes me! Stay safe out there Mr. And Mrs. Ruby. We need you in our lives🤣
Back when it was called Pharaoh's Feast it was excellent Buffet of course that was back in the late 90's/early 2000's.
Enjoy your reviews. Can’t wait for the Flamingo to open theirs as I always enjoyed their brunch.
Thanks for your videos. My boyfriend and I are currently planning a Vegas long weekend getaway in mid-January for my birthday. Most authentic presentation… I really enjoy your content !
I liked the Luxor buffet a lot more than Mandalay Bay. The decor at Luxor was a lot more fun. I always wait in line for an omlette. Thanks for another fun video.
I could watch you and listen to the great music and be happy , let alone the review.
I went to the Luxor buffet last n November and enjoyed it a lot but I must say, I have simple tastes!
Your face said it all on the red, brown, vanilla mousse thing! LOL!
What I have always been told and have tried first hand is to get the cook to make you scrambled eggs fresh on the skillet. That way you know they are always fresh and not the premixed eggs that come in eggs and they cook in a big batch.
I super appreciate how candid you were! And I'm sorry for laughing aloud at your facial expressions when tasting desserts... 🤭
You cracked me up with your expression of the taste of that parfait dessert. Hilarious!!!
I LOVE the Luxor Buffett.
I also love the buffet at Excalibur 😁🥰 I feel like it’s underrated
Agree that the Excalibur buffet was excellent for the price! 😋🍽 And we had a BOGO offer so that made it even better!
We liked the Excalibur buffet too.
We're pretty simple people, so alot of the high end ones are not as appealing.
I heard that the Excalibur buffet has improved a lot.. saw a video about Excalibur buffet.
I'm only like 40 seconds in right now and it actually LOOKS pretty good
Thanks for the review. Luxor is my Vegas spot. Nothing was open when I was last there in May. I'll give it a shot...I mean, why not? Lol.
I love you review ,so thorough and to the point. It did not look appealing except for a handful of things. Keep making them!
I've taken my family there a couple of times. The theme is great and is why I like it so much. The food is good. It's fun to watch my kids wonder around the large area looking for different foods to try. I agree that desserts are the weakest point, kind of blah, but my kids didn't seem to care.
Great video, it all looked pretty decent. Great explanations
The face you made when you ate the brownie made me laugh.
Great biscuits and gravy back home...Mad Rooster Cafe. I love em.
Another great video. You're honesty is everything. Brave lady trying sushi from the buffet.
Thanks for the review! I’ll be glad when these open for dinner.
Great video, Ruby!
The breakfast and the Latin sections hopefully made up for the desserts -- your facial expressions with the desserts were too cute lol
Ruby regarding the really good Mexican rice the spice you're referring to is probably cumin. Thanks for the review.
My worst xmas dinner ever was at this buffet in 1995. Glad you has a coupon!
Went this week and the dessert section has gotten so much better. I liked everything I tried and I didn't see any of these out there. I had a real tiramisu, a caramel cheesecake and a classic cream puff.
That food looks amazing!!! I'm soooooo hungry!
Thanks for the review Ruby...
Looks like Bellagio or Bachanal for us in July 😁😉
Good to know about the buffet there.... My best option to the buffet is the Irish Bar to eat at, in the walkway between the Luxor and Mandalay Bay.. I always need a beer while dining. 🍻

Thank you for the heads up on this buffet. Probably saved some of us $100
We didn’t hate it. Breakfast was good and cheap. The fresh fruit was on point. Ate $20 worth of fruit each for sure.
i liked the excaliber food counter for the hash and some tomato juice
Congrats on reaching 75K ….you did it!!!!! 🥰🌺😍
Thank you for your review...
Those dessert portions were pretty big...
Will definitely check out that buffet when I’m there in March
Gotta appreciate Mr. Ruby's shrimp honesty. 😄
"I try to stay away from too many, (French toast, mini donut, biscuit/gravy, potatoes), carbs! Well, woopsie.
Good, very thorough review.
Remember 18 months ago when everyone swore that vegas buffets were a thing of the past?
Well the majority are still closed or gone forever
@@keganrussell4511 actually most are getting major remodels to open.
Most are only open for Brunch. The ones open for dinner are Bacchanal, Wynn, South Pointe, Circus Circus, Rampart Casino and Main Street Station.
You really made me laugh out loud when you made the face after the Neapolitan dessert🤣
Looks great. But did I see something moving at 12:26? I surely hope not
You are made to do reviews. I enjoy them

Ya the mgm grand Buffett is horrible. Luxor is better than mgm grand Buffett
Seems like Golden Corral or something like that. The "Sysco" menu, just heat and serve
Well said. Actually think GC would be better.
I like your honest review I'm from Canada we were LV went to a buffest paid 100$ it was terrible food was cold

I just have to note that you hold your fork very close to the base lol
Thank you for the 9am heads up.
thumbs up for the dessert reviews
I don't need authenticity as much as I value quality, which is what Ruby was communicating regarding the Latin section.
Great, honest review. It looked like a real struggle. Luxor, how do you screw up a dessert buffet?!
Awesome keep up the good work
Fun show thank you

One of my favorite breakfast places glad to see it’s Reopend😍
Yea stayed at the Luxor back in 2018 and agree with ya. Breakfast was fine but when I came back for dinner? Lets just say I was hitting up the Johnny Rockets upstairs for the rest of my stay lol
Great video it was super informative Ruby and Mr. Ruby 🙌🏼
Good vid I'm staying luxor in July n I've got like 1.5M in MyVegas LP's prolly just use what I can on freeplay.

The silverton buffet was always my favorite for the money but it's still closed not sure if it will ever reopen.
I appreciate your tips!
Great review 👍
Hmm, I guess we'd give it a try in a pinch. Not a huge fan of buffets, unless they have a huge variety. Thanks for the excellent review!

My first time in Vegas back in 2003/2004 I stayed at the Luxor. The buffet wasn't that great then, either. I see somethings never change.😆
Damn! The Luxor Buffet must've opened up in the fall. I was there in July 2021. Way too hot in Vegas at that time!
Good to know, were staying there in Feb for Metallica! Thanks for sharing
Never eaten at the Luxor. Tend stay at the Linq. A good, cheap buffet is at Circus Circus. Many cheap buffets are gone. May give the Luxor buffet a shot
Ruby if you want a good pizza when your back home try out old school pizza in malta Illinois will not disappoint
It’s in a old high school
We just stayed at the Luxor and although it wasn't horrible will never stay there again. Too many better options for just a little bit more money
Hi i hope one day i can afford to come to Vegas !! but if i do i will try to avoid this buffet, love your video xxxxx
What a cruddy buffet! Glad I watched this video to alert me!
Nice review Ruby! This buffet seems fine for the price point. Has all the basics covered and not too fancy or overpriced. But you are from Wisconsin and sausage is not your thing?!?
