I'll have to give MGM Buffet another try. I went years ago and it was VERY average. Your videos are so helpful in planning my Vegas trips. Great job! If you are looking for ideas for content (that you don't need to be in Vegas for), I'd love to see a "behind the scenes" on how you plan out your trips and decide what you are going to film. How do you pick the hotels you stay at? How much of what you film is pre-planned vs "in the moment"? Etc. Thanks again for the great info!
Based on her description it seemed pretty average to me. The "good" stuff was what she caught fresh. (like any buffet) Lots of canned/processed stuff.. deserts sounded particularly poor that way. They looked better than they tasted. When I get dragged to buffets I generally stick with the stuff I see go out fresh and a-la-minute preparations. I guarantee you the omelette station was using liquid eggs unless you asked for cracked eggs. (which they have - and that guy who ordered over easy was aware of) REally high end buffets are a better value if you are targeting expensive foods. The mids like MGM... its really the same food any local buffet has. Maybe a bit more international selection.

You seem to like the MGM Grsnd buffet more than others on TH-cam. And I tend to agree with you. I like the basics when it comes to food, so the fancy places like the Baccannal in Ceasars are not for me. Glad to hear a positive review of this one. And as usual, I'm taking your advice.

Just got back yesterday from Vegas. Stayed at Trump International and it was very pleasant. Wished I would have known about the buffet at MGM. Tried the one at Circus Circus and it was horrible. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks for the update, video, and honest review. Some buffets on the strip are open...as a local, most off-strip casinos have shut their buffet doors using COVID as an excuse. Sad, the "old" buffets offering visitors and families decent prices and meals are gone. There are still a lot of viable options off the Strip. Cheers and safe travels. :)
I had the buffet at the beginning of June when I was there. I think it is definitely worth the price during the week. Not so sure it would be worth the weekend price though as I was told the items are pretty much the same on the weekend as what they are during the week.
Did Bachannal few weeks ago..then realized after one plate "crap, I'm almost full." Didn't get my money's worth, that's for sure..will be in town next week, will definitely try this one. Thanks for the nice video, crisp and clear//
Thank you so much Ruby the one thing you do that most other video bloggers do not do is go into detail and I really appreciate that, I will be in Las Vegas for a week starting August 15th I'll be leaving the 21st or 22nd. I will definitely get in my car and make a beeline from the Sahara to the MGM for sure at least once that week for the buffet.
I will have my vehicle but the tram is also running and there is a station at the Sahara that would take me down to the MGM if I decide to use it. I most likely will be vid blogging, now that's an idea blogging from the tram that should be interesting.

I just went to this last week - I read some bad reviews but I actually thought it was better than the Wicked Spoon. Lot of good stuff here, I only waited 10 minutes or so to get a seat on a Thursday.

I had the MGM Grand buffet in February of 2020, just before the pandemic happened. The food was flavorless, some stuff was cold. Very good selection, just like you say here, but I was very disappointed with it. The only reason I went there to the buffet was that it was part of the deal that I had (5 buffet meals free). I was in Vegas for a week and I ate there only because it was free for me. The Brunch was by far better than the dinner meals that I had. I had told myself that I wouldn't eat here again after this. If the food is better then maybe I'll try it again. I did really enjoy the Luxor's buffet, although that was over 2 years ago. Thanks for the update on their food though!!
I am in MGM Grand right now deciding which mid priced buffet to try tomorrow. My last day at MGM Park is tomorrow. May go to MGM Grand buffet or maybe Main St. Station buffet. You seemed to like that one too. They had less meat selection but you liked their turkey and ham.

Good job. I think I will try the MGM Grand buffet the next time I'm in Vegas. It seems to be the fairest price for the quality of food, compared to your other location videos done in Vegas. (For the other video locations seemed to be pricier, even if some of the food was a little better.) Sure, you get what you pay for. But at a buffet (as is most all of the layouts you critique in Vegas), you can get full concentrating on the best part, skipping others that may not be so good.

MGM Grand’s buffet is better than Circus Circus and about on par with Excalibur or Luxor. They definitely need to pay more attention to cleanliness on the food serving areas; I’ve been to Golden Coral locations that were less messy. (Big negatives, serving utensils lying on the food and the area around the lo mein is in dire need of cleaning.) for the price, I’d as soon pay a bit more and hit the Wicked Spoon or the Aria’s buffet.
I loved Vegas when it was all about customer service and entertainment. Now it’s bend over and like it cause we’re screwing you in every way. It’s a shame she’s too young to know what made the place cool. Oh the funniest part was when she was talking about the Chinese food and said it’s good, it tastes like the food at the mall. The same food truck that delivers the frozen food to the mall must stop at the MGM also, it’s not the same Vegas.🎅🏻🏴☠️
My wife and I went 2 weeks ago. The first day we were turned away because the lines were so long. The next day the lines were long too but we got in. Once in the carving station line was ridiculous. The shrimp wasn’t cooked properly. They didn’t have everything out. The deserts were dry and from a package. Breakfast was ok, but not worth $30 a person. The waffles great. Luckily we used a MyVEGAS Bogo coupon. I will not be going back to the MGM buffet again.
Are there any casinos in Vegas that will comp you a free buffet meal if you play for a certain time at slot machines or put X amount of dollars into the machine to get a free buffet meal voucher?
I went to MGM in 2005 and 2006…the buffet was 25 dlls then and it was great…the price is still great…and I always had the scrabble eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, fried chicken with mashed potatoes with gravy…yessssssss I was hung over every time I ate there jaja…
I ate there recently and it was not good. Everything i ate was tasteless and i end up getting sick. I would recommend bellagio or cesar palace, they are so much better.
I was actually hungry when I started watching this. At the end, I actually had a stomach ache, lol! But thanks for the great video and display of food. The only time I can see going to a Vegas buffet would be on my departure morning. Otherwise I would be stuffed for the whole day and unable to enjoy Vegas the rest of the day. But that's just me.
Pre covid the mgm grand buffet was awful. Probably because it didn’t get the crowds that it is present day. I remember all the food used to be cold/ wouldn’t be restocked and scrambled eggs were watery and wouldn’t even dare to go near the sushi. This looks like a huge improvement for sure and would go back to try it again, thank you!
Some say the Buffet at MGM is bad. I don’t think it’s bad. I like it. Except I can’t eat the sushi without soy sauce and wasabi. I don’t know how you can. So many TH-camrs doing Vegas now but I watch yours. Thanks.
I am going to guess NO before even watching the video. I was wrong. I ended up going myself and it was very good. No complaints other that the lines but they so move quickly.
Just got back from Vegas. I actually ate here just because I used the BOGO MyVEGAS reward 2x. Since it is brunch got to use the breakfast and lunch comp. But I was expecting more after watching your review and from previous experience. It was just ok in my opinion especially with the $27.99 price tag. i would pass on the alcohol charge...its morning, and you know your going to over do it and then your day would be wasted....plus if you really wanted to you could sneak in some small bottles to spice up your drinks...lol. I would pass...drinks are free in the casino.
I mean subjecting a wild animal, who’s capable of suffering, to horrible captivity just for something to be “cool” doesn’t sound right to me. I’m glad it’s gone
I'm curious if things have just changed, either due to the shutdown or due to criticism. I had it July 2019, and didn't hate it but didn't find it spectacular at all. I'd be willing to give it a try again, but not for full price.

From Sahara you can take the monorail. It goes door to door. It's fast, easy and fairly priced. Beats walking that long walk.

After a long line to pay, they make you get into another line to get into the buffet. No extras for Gold members.
Guess I will have to go to this buffet when they open at 8am. I'm not wasting my time waiting 30 minutes just to eat.

Some say the Buffet at MGM is bad. I don’t think it’s bad. I like it. Except I can’t eat the sushi without soy sauce and wasabi. I don’t know how you can. So many TH-camrs doing Vegas now but I watch yours. Thanks.

I am going to guess NO before even watching the video. I was wrong. I ended up going myself and it was very good. No complaints other that the lines but they so move quickly.
Just got back from Vegas. I actually ate here just because I used the BOGO MyVEGAS reward 2x. Since it is brunch got to use the breakfast and lunch comp. But I was expecting more after watching your review and from previous experience. It was just ok in my opinion especially with the $27.99 price tag. But yes good selection of desserts and lots of bacon for me. Thanks for these awesome videos Ruby!!!
Heard there was really no lunch. Just mostly breakfast 8am to 3pm
Price isn;t bad -m perhaps we should check it out at end of month Hopefully these buffets don't attract many 500 pound folks with walkers.

I noticed a lot of the buffets that are reopening have limited hours and options. Is that a new trend or are they still recovering from the shutdown?
$18.99 for the drink package is a good deal if you have two or more drinks, right?
i would pass on the alcohol charge...its morning, and you know your going to over do it and then your day would be wasted....plus if you really wanted to you could sneak in some small bottles to spice up your drinks...lol. I would pass...drinks are free in the casino.

I remember when the MGM had live lions in the glass cage! Las Vegas used to be a lot cooler back in the day!
I mean subjecting a wild animal, who’s capable of suffering, to horrible captivity just for something to be “cool” doesn’t sound right to me. I’m glad it’s gone
Does anyone remember the emerald city? That was so cool.
The lions were great,lived at a sanctuary, brought in 2 per day and taken back at end of day.They were happy and loved going.

I'm curious if things have just changed, either due to the shutdown or due to criticism. I had it July 2019, and didn't hate it but didn't find it spectacular at all. I'd be willing to give it a try again, but not for full price.

She doesn’t waste it. She tries everything on camera, and whatever she doesn’t eat Mr. Ruby eats. They mention it in many of their buffet vids.
