I’m was SOBBING. This poor girl barely had any peace. All she wanted was to find her people and live happily with them, and what she found were these monsters.
i think what hurts most about madeleine's 'are we on trial' is that she's been on trial before at the end of the war and judged by the people and convicted - its shown in her memories when louis turns her that she was paraded on the street and had her head shaved
"I could not prevent it" the lies! the lies!! Sam was blocking the old vampire Armand? Give me a break. The director was directing. I saw someone else point out that the rocks Louis was buried under are the same rocks in his 'zen area.' Where the tree is in his home
When Armand says “my daughter was my sister was my throw pillow when he didn’t look at me kindly” when mocking Louis is so indicative of how she’s treated by Louis as we see in the new POV of her creation. He loves her but at the same time she serves as a prop for him when Lestat looks away. Lestat loves her differently in that he fears for her life from the very beginning because he knows the laws. I feel like he doesn’t step in because he sees her death as almost righting the wrong he did in creating her but the guilt on his face in that last shot is crazy. So much lore in this episode and so devastating!

I read somewhere that Claudia was written as a way for Anne Rice to mourn/grieve the loss of her young daughter that she lost from leukemia. Claudia’s death is tragic because she was supposed to live a full life and be a woman they way she yearned to be and deserved to, but never got the chance to, in the same way her late daughter never got to grow old and become a woman, mother, etc
It's why the original IWTV book exists in the first place. It was a way to process her grief through Louis's loss of Claudia (based on her real daughter Michel, who died of leukemia at age 5 I believe) and Paul.
one thing i loved about this episode is when we get the flashback to the fight, and we see louis being completely unhinged and scary, you understand why raglan told daniel "you fear armand, you should fear the other one". louis' relationship with vampirism is complex but he IS still a vampire at the end of the day, and he is capable of being just as brutal and vicious as all the other vampires we've seen in the series
@@janetgriffin7779Lestat went crazy bc Louis was going to leave him which we already know - we just didn’t know he wasn’t fighting back when Louis snapped after he choked Claudia
I think even the coven knew that Madeline hadn't broke any laws. That's why they kept her in a trance for the whole trial. They kind of wanted to keep her out of it in case she decided to take up their offer to join the coven. Notice, they didn't beat her either. Claudia got the worst of the pre trial beating because she was actually a member of the coven.
Yeah I think she was numb as I don't think she realised her heels had been cut until she fell trying to get to Claudia. I think the theatre coven would find it impossible to understand the connection between Claudia and Madeleine because none of them actually love each other. They might have fleeting relationships with each other, but they're bound together by laws and never ending routine. Nothing more. They're horrible, but also so tragic.
@@psychedelicpegasus7587 yeah, you have to consider that they have had to live under these laws as well. Santiago's maker was killed for making him without permission. He was probably given the same choice that Madeline was given. He was probably still resentful towards Armand for that.
Kind of their Game of thrones moment. I honestly think that Armand is so full of shit. He let it happened! The reason why Claudia's story is so tragic is because it was based of Anne Rices daughter who died at age 5 from a rare blood disease. Louis was pretty much Anne and Lestat was inspired by her husband's charisma, & charmed.
You’re NOT ready for the finale guys, you also need to know that Lestat’s character is being told by different perspectives, so some things he did or said might not be true since Louis is an unreliable narrator
They're following the books, with tweaks here and there. So season 3 will be adapted from "The Vampire Lestat" (focused on Lestat), and 'Queen of the Damned" after. They have tons of back story and new vampires to cast from Anne Rice's vampire chronicles (13 complete books), so all your questions will be answered. :-) Hopefully they don't mess it up!
@@Ally-lo2go, it's A LOT. It's told from multiple POVs, with the main conflict arising with the return of Akasha, the mother of all vampires. It's A LOT. The film didn't touch on half of what was in the book.

They gotta find a way to show more scenes with Claudia next season. Delainey Hayles was a force of nature when giving her to life. Looking forward to the finale reaction!
Season 3 has been confirmed. A couple of things to remember before you review the final episode - several of the vampires in the coven, Armand & Lestat have the ability to control minds. Lestat is still weak from his "murder" - in fact it would have killed any other vampire, but Lestat - because of whose blood is coursing through his veins. The book "The Interview with a Vampire" was always about the death of Claudia, more over Anne Rice's difficulty with the death of her own daughter...a death she could not prevent (leukemia). Madeline represented the part of the author who would've chosen to die with her daughter if she could've. In the book - Claudia is a 5 year old with the mind of a 75 year old woman and she senses that Louis is being pulled away from her by Armand. Madeline is a woman who recently lost her child and sees in Claudia a child who cannot die. The racial component to the show is quite fascinating in which the characters of color are put on trial for murder - even though Lestat was still alive. When Lestat tried to accept accountability for his part, the judges refused to hold him accountable and chose the harshest penalties for Claudia & Louis.
Season 3 has officially been confirmed, and as a continuation of the books, this time they'll adapt the fan favorite, The Vampire Lestat, so I'm sure you guys will be having a blast!
2x07 is my favorite episode of the whole series. Claudia and Madeleine, all the tiny details in their acting, the subtle hints at truths we don't get spelled out for us, the amazing art, the story of how they filmed it, ugh it's just everything
It was a heartbreaking episode. The way she looked at Lestat at the end? Ugh. Delainey confirmed that Claudia looks at him like a child looking for her father’s help.
i dont believe armand couldnt save claudia i honestly think he didnt want to because like she says its never about her with louis relationships, and there was something i think her actress said about that scene that her looking to lestat was almost a cry for help to someone who, at the end of the day, was her father and he knows that too
“No way they are gonna kill Claudia” haha oh my sweet summer children… Anne Rice wrote this after the loss of her daughter. The story is about parental grief.
i will never get over claudia’s death 😩 she was always doomed from the start… and right when she found someone who loved her back equally, they both died in each others arms:( her story is heartbreaking start to finish. louis did NOT deserve her.
With Season 3 being announced, I am curious if they will combine both “The Vampire Lestat” & “Queen of the Damned” or going with a single book for the next. Also curious on who they are casting as Akasha. Very excited for next year.
You're the first channel I've watched that didn't know that Claudia and Madeline were going to die. Y'all must not have seen the 1994 movie. It's painful for sure but Claudia should have never been born. She was just too young. Season 3 will introduce some very interesting characters and it will be loads of fun!
It was basically a lynching of 2 black Vampires where they got dehumanized to make them look worse to the audience. Claudia even calls the biased audience when they were having sympathy for Lestat but not her or Louis. Claudia and Louis crying to each when they got separated broke my heart. At least someone finally choose Claudia 💔 The season 2 finale is great.
Armand can literally stop time, do you really believe that the coven could hold him back and prevent him from saving Louis and Claudia? Armand is a liar, we’ve seen that he is a liar. Claudia’s death in the books was way worse and Armand was not innocent. Also, consider that AlaSTAT may not be the willing participant you believe he is. I’m excited to see your reaction to the finale.
a cast member said madeline looks so out of it bc lestat was speaking to her to get to claudia and apologize - after all she was the only one he could speak to bc she was the only one he didnt make. he was trying to apologize iirc what i read. The mumbled french whispering was her repeating what lestat said.
It seems so obvious to me Lestat does not want to be on that stage. He probably wanted a confrontation but not like this. And I don't trust the new scenes from S1 memories. Is Armand making Louis remember this new version? That whole bit about the head and the lions...I just don't believe it. Almost as if someone is trying to convince Louis he deserves a punishment or was always deranged.
Claudias life was literally hell, and when she finally gets a companion that loves her and will stay with her, both of them die...i hated this Too painful..but it's not even a fraction of what Anne felt felt after losing her little daughter So she made us feel atleast a single sand grain of what she felt
I've seen several comments that have said Lestat's version of events are to be believed over Louis'. I haven't read the books so I'm not sure why that is the consensus.
I think some versions make sense-Louis confirms Lestat’s take on Claudia’s turning is more accurate than his own. And I can go either way on the fight- I think either way it is very clear that Lestat was still the abuser in their relationship (both Lestat and Louis seem view it that way) and that if this version of the fight is real, Louis takes on an almost Lorena Bobbit role in it. I think pretty much everyone agrees that Lestat is being scripted for the “louis was stalking me” bit, and that bit isnt true at all.
The second book Anne wrote focused on Lestat. She decided to place her effort with him. So, Lestat basically rewrites the first book. Says that Louis did not get somethings right. There is a short chapter in the second book that "corrects" a lot of what was in the first book. Anne realized that Lestat was the character she could tell her story through. Not Louis. She made the right decision. Lestat became a legend. But Louis was always there with Lestat. Anne made sure the readers knew that they were there for each other.
why do you need to read the books to understand that? we’ve seen several times in the show that louis either cannot remember events clearly or straight up lies. of course lestat’s version of events hold more merit.
@@ibuprofriends Do not need to read the books to understand some of the plot. But if you make a comment that in contradictory to the book. It should be pointed out. Saying that the writers are going to include Louis in 3rd season. Even though he was NOT in the 2nd book. Is just not accurate. That is what I meant about reading the books. Louis was always there. Seems an insult to say that the writers are adding something that Anne already had in place.
There are 2 movies interview with a vampire starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kristen dunst.the second is queen of the damned with singer aaliyah .the movies are not connected.
Lestat had nothing to do with Claudia’s death in the books. I like it better that way even though we got to see Sam as Lestat. This was heartbreaking. It was all Armand and the coven.
I'm not sure why so many are convinced Armand could have stopped the entire coven, like they still have a massive interest in remaining hidden from humans. The only thing I can see is just agreeing/aiding to escape but I don't think the others would have even done so.
Lestat was changing the story to make himself seem like the victim. He’s 100 years older than Louis and more powerful so there’s no way Louis could overpower him. Same thing with Armand. Armand could have stopped the whole thing if he wanted. He’s more powerful than any of them.
Armand, by the time of Claudia, is NOT more powerful than Lestat. Lestat meets Akasha in his past. She is the 1st Vampire and the most powerful. She shares her blood with Lestat. Making him very powerful. The most powerful after the "twins".... All this will hopefully be shown in future seasons.

I’ve been waiting for this since yesterday 😭😭I hope yall drop the last episode soonn it’s the most emotional I’ve been about a show in a while
Damn damn damn i was crying my eyes out.
You're the first channel I've watched that didn't know that Claudia and Madeline were going to die. Y'all must not have seen the 1994 movie. It's painful for sure but Claudia should have never been born. She was just too young. Season 3 will introduce some very interesting characters and it will be loads of fun!
Ya'll the next epi is INSANE!!!
HOTD new ep about to drop.. this will get me to then. TY!
Can't wait to see the season finale! Do you know when it will be watched and uploaded? Love your channel!
It was basically a lynching of 2 black Vampires where they got dehumanized to make them look worse to the audience. Claudia even calls the biased audience when they were having sympathy for Lestat but not her or Louis. Claudia and Louis crying to each when they got separated broke my heart. At least someone finally choose Claudia 💔
The season 2 finale is great.
I’m excited to see your reaction to the finale.
aún estoy llorando mucho por este ep, mi claudia merecía el mundo entero. me duele tanto como terminó...
I hope you check out the movie adaptation after this too.
I love how you knew it was lestat before knowing anything else.. e8. Real lestat fans
a cast member said madeline looks so out of it bc lestat was speaking to her to get to claudia and apologize - after all she was the only one he could speak to bc she was the only one he didnt make. he was trying to apologize iirc what i read. The mumbled french whispering was her repeating what lestat said.
Next episode I wanna see
Claudia is supposed to haunt the narrative so looking forward to that in season 3
Next ep pleaseeee
Claudias life was literally hell, and when she finally gets a companion that loves her and will stay with her, both of them die...i hated this
Too painful..but it's not even a fraction of what Anne felt felt after losing her little daughter
So she made us feel atleast a single sand grain of what she felt
I think lestat doesn't interfere because he views it as inevitable. he knew she wasn't supposed to be made
Slaughter Show was waiting 4
SEASON 3 CONFIRMED
WHY IS ZACH NOT ON THESE REACTIONS WITH Y'ALL?
There are 2 movies interview with a vampire starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kristen dunst.the second is queen of the damned with singer aaliyah .the movies are not connected.
Lestat had nothing to do with Claudia’s death in the books. I like it better that way even though we got to see Sam as Lestat. This was heartbreaking. It was all Armand and the coven.
wait until the season is over before you start complaining
@@ibuprofriendswant complaining. Voicing an opinion and fact from the books. I’ve watched the finale. It was beautiful.
I have seen the movie so I knew Claudia was going to die. Her and Madeline deserved better than this 😢
I'm not sure why so many are convinced Armand could have stopped the entire coven, like they still have a massive interest in remaining hidden from humans. The only thing I can see is just agreeing/aiding to escape but I don't think the others would have even done so.
Where are the new vampire diaries reactions??
They were taking a break because zuff was sick or something and they didnt want to do reactions without him
@@yasminemixon9340 but they’ve already got them on patreon, so didn’t know why they can’t post those?
One just dropped on TH-cam
@@SubKween thank you!
Armand is all cap.
PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR THE FINALE!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
react to scream queens please 😭😭😭
Lestat was changing the story to make himself seem like the victim. He’s 100 years older than Louis and more powerful so there’s no way Louis could overpower him. Same thing with Armand. Armand could have stopped the whole thing if he wanted. He’s more powerful than any of them.
Lestat didn't write the script tho lol
Armand is not more powerful than Lestat. It's just SOMEONE slit his throat and he was still recovering
Louis is a VERY unreliable narrator
lestat "definition of aura" "star of the show" de lioncourt
