This is EXACTLY how I feel. I never read The Vampire Armand because I didn't care for him but Assad's performance invested me in him, as a character. I'm on chapter 10 now of TVA and I still don't think he's amazing, but Assad has led me to an appreciation for Armand that is carrying me through (also the writing itself is spectacular)
all of the actors are fascinating but Assad was outstanding to me this season! the subtle changes when the word maitre was uttered, the closeted crazy expressions, the vulnerable eyes...everything was just phenomenal. i hope after this we get to see him in more projects:) lovely to see him and the amazing writers talk a bit about it all
Assad is so sweet and humble when complimented, I want to shake him and scream in a frankly deranged way about how brilliant he is in this role because I NEED him to know. I’ll be an Assad fan for life
The heartfelt shout out to Daniel Hart for his incredible score on both seasons of this show is SO deserved! This fantastic show has all the best cast and crew, period.
Assad is such a lovely introvert. His Armand is so captivating in all his volunerability and insanity. I am happy they highlighted Daniel Hart's music bc he sets the mood like no other. Pieces are so intertwined in my mind that whenever I listen just for pleasure of it takes me back to those scenes immediately. And what they manage to deal with challenge of seperating the book in two seasons by bringing dimention to these characters, splashing hints from other books is fantastic. Iwtv brought tv back.
I was so charmed with Ben Daniel's portrayal of santiago the moment he came on screen so Rolin Jones sharing about the incredible amount of work Ben puts in as an actor was such a pleasure to hear. Also makes so much sense how he absolutely slayed the performance
Love love love. Acting, dialogue, themes, complexity, aesthetic, music, all clever, highly crafted, so much detail, all extraordinary and so so beautiful. I was transported, I wished it was real.....
It is because of Assad's performance that I fell so deeply in love with the show. He has been phenomenal. Can't wait to see more of his story in the next season. ❤
Can’t believe s2 is over already it was AMAZING! 10’s all across the board for Assad, he was phenomenal! His portrayal of Armand has made him my favorite. Really looking forward to seeing what he’ll be up to next season.
Me too! I can't believe it's over. I'm dwelling on interviews rn. Armand definitely was highlight of the season. His nuanced portrayal is brilliant! Assad did a great job giving depth to Armand
I wish these interviewers would do their research on how Assad’s name is pronounced. I’ve even seen him very subtly saying his name but they never catch on and correct their pronunciation.
Season 2 was INCREDIBLE. Paris has never been my favorite part of the story and this adaptation made me obsessed. And the same with Armand, Assad’s beautiful performance endeared me so much to him as a character despite any and all atrocities in his wake. The force of talent in all departments is unmatched
Assad!! , your performance cannot be Understated! You mastered this role beautifully and I am longing to see more of you. The entire cast was great, but the switch up at the end of episode eight was good so I can’t wait to see what they do with his character moving forward . I’ve never been drawn in by a character, such as Armand..Eagerly awaiting season. 3!!❤
Everyone needs to watch IWTV! It is so nuanced and finely detailed; every time you watch it you notice something new :) I swear its the next Gilmore Girls but goth. Its helped me work through personal feelings in my life and now I'm reading Anne Rice, so thank you to all the cast and creatives for bringing this to life 🖤
I'm usually strictly a Stephen King reader. I spent six years reading all of King's books back to back. When I saw the first season of Interview with the Vampire, I decided that I had to read the Vampire Chronicles books. I have read up to The Vampire Armand. I loved them! My favorites are probably The Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned, and Tale of the Body Thief.
The writers, the director, the producer, the MUSIC, the ACTORS, the set! My GOD! C’est Bravo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Stray bullet warning-Mayfair Witches team- take notes
It was such a pleasure to witness this panel in person, and I am so glad to be able to watch it back now. Thank you for posting! Mark Johnson has worked on some incredible projects.
Thanks for sharing this discussion! I love this so much. It gave a little insight into creating of the show and character Armand. Assad is so lovely. He did amazing job playing Armand. Rolin and Mark are great on making such an amazing show adapting such rich material and putting so much sense in it.
I know this is only a small detail but I love that Assad loves the long coat he wore in ep5 bc I actually drew him twice and in both drawings/pictures he's wearing that coat 🤣
I want, no need, to know who Joanna would cast as Gambit; Sam Reid or Jacob Anderson? In fact it should be a 'Trial by Content' topic or a structured debate between her and Van. On that note her and Van to review the show weekly, Ringerverse or Prestige TV I don't care but I loved their review. Charles too.
Now that I know Mark Johnson produced The Holdovers and IWTV, I cannot stop seeing parallels. Lestat and Mary are haunted by the loss of their child. For Mary, the Vietnam war took her son and for Lestat, the coven took his daughter. Louis and Angus both have strained relationships with their mothers, and they long for their old family dynamic to return. Angus feels forgotten by his mother. Louis felt rejected by his mother. Angus wants his father back in his life. Louis wants his brother back in his life. Claudia and Paul were relentlessy bullied for something beyond their control (her existence as a child vampire and his medical condition that makes him smell like fish. They both ultimately leave toxic work places. Claudia runs off with Madeliene and Paul drives off after taking the blame for letting Angus see his father. I love it here
Asaad’s performance and understanding of Armand made me love a character that I previously did not care for. Asaad Zaman you’re gift!
This is EXACTLY how I feel. I never read The Vampire Armand because I didn't care for him but Assad's performance invested me in him, as a character.

I love how Assad portrays him. He does an amazing job. But I still can't like Armand as a character 😂
Yeah him and Louis both I was like meh in the books but THESE actors.
RIP me 🪦
Assad is a force this season!
Yes! Assad Zaman... His performance in this is monumental.
YES!!! I cannot get enough of that man. He was phenomenal.❤
Brilliant!!

Oh God yesss. He was brilliant in every way.❤
Assad Zaman deserves an Emmy for his portrayal of Armand!
Assad is so sweet and humble when complimented, I want to shake him and scream in a frankly deranged way about how brilliant he is in this role because I NEED him to know. I’ll be an Assad fan for life
FOR REAL???!!!
assad zaman is such a revelation. the casting department of this show is insane.
I love how Rolin seems to have no filter lol.
you have no choice, seeing assad zaman results in catastrophic levels of heart eyes for that man
The bench in the rain scene was breathtaking xxx
The heartfelt shout out to Daniel Hart for his incredible score on both seasons of this show is SO deserved! This fantastic show has all the best cast and crew, period.
I just love how much love Assad has been receiving ❤

Episode 5 is the best episode of season 2!! It was incredible!
Assad is outstanding as Armand, the whole cast and show is incredible. Assad is such a sweetie too ❤
Assad kept the coat!! We need a photoshoot of him wearing it!
And the sunglasses too
Love love love.
Assad's performance this season was everything..on the other hand why don't assad and Jacob have any interviews together despite being leads?
so happy to see interviews and panels come out now the whole seasons out!!!! love assad so much
Can’t believe s2 is over already it was AMAZING! 10’s all across the board for Assad, he was phenomenal! His portrayal of Armand has made him my favorite. Really looking forward to seeing what he’ll be up to next season.

@@lenakataeva7525 definitely agree! He’s insanely talented
He was my favorite in season two. I hope we see more Armand and Daniel scenes and how he turned him!!❤❤❤
I wish these interviewers would do their research on how Assad’s name is pronounced. I’ve even seen him very subtly saying his name but they never catch on and correct their pronunciation.

When people are committed to an idea they believe in, it's an unstoppable force.
season 2 was so good ❤
Great answers from Rolin

I'm so far from art, so I was thinking that the painting was specifically created for the show. But it was a real painting from the past, wow
I love this cast!
ARMAND TURNED DANIEL IN THE FINALE OMGGGGGGGGG
Mark also produced the incredible Galaxy Quest. Hell of a producer.
Excited, Excited, Excited
I know this is only a small detail but I love that Assad loves the long coat he wore in ep5 bc I actually drew him twice and in both drawings/pictures he's wearing that coat 🤣
Im really hoping as a devil's minion girlie, that my patience will be paid off. This gives me hope 😁😁😁

What minute does someone say 'you are Armand'?

I love it here
What the freak book is The Devil's Minion? Tale of the Body Thief or Memnoch the Devil?
queen of the damned
