I know, right? Like, if evil, why is he so pretty? I get it, it's part of Armand's original characterisation from the novels that he literally looks like an angel, but when people yell at him, it breaks my suspension of disbelief. You would be hurtful to the man with those big tangerine eyes? The soulful looks? No! 😢
I don't think Armand is predicting the future, I think he's reaching inside Daniel's head and finding all of the things he's AFRAID of happening. Remember when Armand was explaining to Louis how he was able to light the candle with his mind? He said "I try to find the vulnerability in the object." That's what Armand is doing now- he's telling Daniel everything he is afraid is what's going to come true, so just give up now and you can avoid all that. Daniel has already showed himself to have a self-destructive streak which is how he got here in the first place. Armand is finding the part of Daniel that wants to die and and is coaxing it out to the forefront of his mind.
insane that louis basically admitted he was going to kill himself in new orleans after claudia left for the train and that he actively attempted to do it in san francisco but now he's up there in his sterile penthouse in dubai, no trace of his personality or life left around him, and he thought he was........ fine? stable? until daniel helped him dredge up these memories. or maybe he knew he wasn't fine all along, what with the "where's your coffin?" - "you're standing in it" we got as early as episode 1. maybe i'm reading too much into it but i legitimately feel like louis is trapped in this dollhouse and daniel's the only one to break through the veneer. i wonder what louis's (if it was even louis's) choice to re-do the interview was based on. if interview #1 was meant to, by armand's account, lure lestat back to louis, could interview #2 have the same purpose? or is it for real chronicling a suicide? is it the last piece of himself he wants to leave this world, if he cannot find another way to atone? louis seems consumed by guilt, pain, and the wish to escape.
The meme about this episode (or one of them is): When Lestat thought Louis was into someone else, he threw a party. When Armand thought it - SAW TRAP! Love how scary he was, let's get more of that in s3. Renewal just got announced, whoop🎉
When Armand says those things to Daniel about his future, I think they remained in his subconscious and subsequently ruined his life. I do wonder whether “I am the quiet you’ve been longing for” stayed stuck in there too.
my favourite episode!!! the mind-blowing performances by these amazing actors were unlike anything i've ever seen. major props to jacob, assad, eric and luke for this incredible episode
The book Daniel reads at 20:39 is his autobiography/ memoir (I don't recall which one oops). Back in season 1 Louis mentioned reading it before writing to Daniel
it's interesting bc I didn't realize that some viewers might not realize Lestat was still alive up til this point. But if you haven't read the books or watched the movie, that makes sense. I always thought Daniel's comments on that front at the end of season 1 were more like "oh, it's obvious you knew that he wasn't really going to die bc you didn't burn him". rather than trying to say 'hey obviously he's still alive, and you're denying it.' but now that I think of it, I don't think they ever really indicate that he survived, IN THE SHOW, until this ep. it's really cool because it makes it a different experience for readers/movie fans vs. people new to the story, while still being very entertaining for both.
16:01 yeah, the actor explained in an interview how they got that shot and he said basically there was a teeny tiny thin chair type thing that he sat on that they edited out in post... But it was so thin and tiny that it wasn't really holding him up a lot and he did still have to use the muscles in his legs and core to hold himself up... And so he said it absolutely WAS still painful while filming. But he just...white knuckled through it for the art lmao. So yeah, some of that discomfort and pain in his face was probably real.
I LOVE this episode so much. We had glimpses of Armand's jealousy but it came FULL SCALE with this episode. He has probably been manipulating Louis for all these years. "We've never fought" or whatever Armand said before...yeah because you prob wipe his memories.
He very specifically says "I will never harm you...and never has" which kind of technically is the truth... he's never physically harmed Louis... But he absolutely DID leave Louis in pain when his blood could have healed Louis in sanfran quite quickly... So that's technically not directly hurting Louis but it IS prolonging his physical pain.
This was my favourite episode of the season so far the lestat speaking to Louis through armand reveal I gasped also I think Armand has more power than he’s letting on for sure and we also saw his crueller side loving the reactions
This was my favorite episode of the whole show until episode 7 of this season. Jacob and Assad both gave Emmy-worthy performances. I adore Louis and Daniel's relationship. They are basically each other's only friends. Louis's words saved Daniel from ever reaching rock bottom is beautiful 😭 (Louis sees a red flag and falls in love with them that is his type)
Loved this episode, the brutality of the argument between Louis and Armand, seeing young Danny before and after his encounter with these vamps, hearing Lestat's dreamy voice, and the hints at Armand's darker side! So well done - good job both!
Love this episode, we've been waiting for a look into what happened in 1973 and they delivered one of the best episodes yet. Can't wait for your next 2 reactions and season 3 is coming 🎉🎉🎉
And yes, this episode had the highest core at IMBD, at least until the seventh episode (which I think you'll love) Can't wait for it to get even higher for the final one!
In the books, Armand (by whatever name) *is* an inherently jealous person, though rarely _properly_ aware of it himself in that particular word/way. (He usually keeps, though, a thick veneer of calm and poise, particularly by the 1800s-to-present.) He constantly longs to have a lover/parental figure/someone to take care of, et al, *but* self-sabotages things, not truly learning from his own mistakes. (In the original novel, Armand was not only Louis' "rebound" relationship right after Lestat but those two were together for almost twice as long as Louis/Lestat were -- L/L were together from 1791-1860, while L/A were together from approx. 1861 to circa 1975... but the relationship being largely cold/perfunctory, for the most part, compared to the passion that L/L had... the latter being, ultimately, what Armand was looking for: a new, passionate experience to make (un)life worth living.) Though the series obviously deviates in a number of details from the books, the essential baseline of that holds over from the source material even if again with very different details in many parts.
Definitely one of my favorites from the season for sure! I definitely don’t trust Armand and he seems so so powerful. When he repeated what Louis said I got chills. Like did he plant that? He must’ve right?? So fascinating!
This show is so great. I have no idea how it is for people who haven’t read the books. Readers have an understanding of the backstory and mostly know what is coming.
No wonder Daniel dislikes Rashid/Armand to this day. His mind may have forgotten but his body remembers what was done to him. So yeah, I approve of Danny being such a bitch to Armand😂
@@whatadollslifeyeah, Armand did all of that horrible shit to Daniel and Daniel STILL falls in love with him... I think Daniel is like the ONLY person who could ever match Armand's freak at that level. Lol
That argument is proof that what Louis and Armand have said to Daniel in present day about their relationship is a huge lie. They're not the perfect "made for each other" couple they're pretending to be. Is there a deeper meaning to the facade? It can't just be for Daniel's benefit. 12:05
His methodology is never violent? Uttered after he said Malik would be begging for it? I'm assuming begging for death because Armand is drawing things out. Seems pretty violent to me. 4:47
Yeah, he makes people passively accept death. It's probably similar to what Santiago does to his "co stars" in the Theatre de Vampire. Remember when Claudia asked him how he got people to let him kill them on stage, and he said he visits them where they are being held and he would "muck about in their head"?
Armand knew that Louis has slept with and killed over 100 men. If Armand hadn't intervened the same would have happened to Daniel. So WHY did he intervene? Also did he torture Daniel because of jealousy or because Louis brought up Lestat?
I think he was tired of finding Louis passed out after consuming the drugs from his victim. I believe he said something like that. I think he tortured Daniel out of jealousy because Louis said he found Armand boring, and that the short time he spent with Daniel was more fascinating than the decades he spent with Armand.
I think it would be really interesting to see them react to the movie after season 2 is over. And I'm sure that's what they've been recommended to do due to season 2 spoilers that are within the movie.
Hello guys! I am Indian and have been watching your reactions to animes. I like watching animes with you. Now, I am hoping guys for some new stuff you should react to like Our Indian Cinema. I want to watch some Indian films along with you guys and want to know about your reviews. I am suggesting you some Indian films from which you can start watching Indian Cinema: 3 Idiots, PK, Taree Zameen Par (Like Stars On Earth), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Brother Bajrangi), Chhichhore (Flippant), Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (Sometimes Happy Sometimes Sad), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Something Happens), Koi Mil Gaya (I found someone), etc. These are great films of Indian Cinema. Please do watch them.
You’re meant to be suspicious of everyone in this series, including Louis who is proven to be an unreliable narrator. Obviously Armand is suss but that doesn’t mean he’s not a great character, he’s enigmatic and captivating, testament to Assad’s brilliant acting.
Tbh I'm gonna need a lil more Louis hate lol, his actions go without scrutiny when he quite literally said the most vile things to his "companion" only to then try to kill himself once again just so he didn't have to face the backlash from that. How many times he gotta utterly betray anyone but Lestat for people to be like, hey maybe Louis is also kinda trash lol
And he didn’t try to kill himself to avoid backlash he killed himself because he loved Claudia so much despite not being the best to her in the later years of their relationship and the thought of her hating him having died hating him sent him off the edge lmao

Well, looks like Claudia isn't the only "bandage for a shitty marriage" anymore, Daniel has officially joined the club.
Daniel "I-could-be-your-lestat-i-could-be-your-claudia" Molloy is The biggest freak of the show!!! i love him!!!!
on a lighter note: if a man as beautiful as assad/armand were to talk to me like that, i would be on cloud 9. if you don't want it, daniel.........
No! 😢
Oh me too, aahhhhh, Assad is just so beautiful.
I don't think Armand is predicting the future, I think he's reaching inside Daniel's head and finding all of the things he's AFRAID of happening. Very well said !
Exactly
Armand is so cruel but wow so beautiful
Literally the character. Canonically
Assad's whole entire "THE NAME!" speech has lived in my head since I watched this ep. Everyone in this show is just utter magic 😍😍
Maybe he really was the Zodiac Killer! 😆
LMAO

All the titles come from the books. "Don't be afraid; just start the tape" is exactly what Louis said to Daniel.
In the first season finale Armand says that with time, the sun loses its power over vampires.
The meme about this episode (or one of them is):

it's the highest rated episode of the entire series for a reason!

This is such a brilliant episode of television. So well written and acted.

god this episode is just so so good!!!!! these actors are something else
this episode gave me literal chills, and Louis is a but different when told from other perspectives
Best episode for me. Saw a meme that compares Armand's reaction to a Saw trap, and there is no better way to put it
Loved this episode, the brutality of the argument between Louis and Armand, seeing young Danny before and after his encounter with these vamps, hearing Lestat's dreamy voice, and the hints at Armand's darker side! So well done - good job both!
My favorite episode so far... 🧛🏻♂️
Love this episode, Young Daniel is adorable.
We’ve made it. We’re finally here
It only gets better and more emotional from here
Love this episode, we've been waiting for a look into what happened in 1973 and they delivered one of the best episodes yet. Can't wait for your next 2 reactions and season 3 is coming 🎉🎉🎉

Louis was so hurt and burnt but he got up despite his pain to save Daniel 😭 DanLou ftw 🙌🏼❤
What a great second season. Can’t wait for y’all to get to episode 7!!!
Yall love this show they come out fast!

Thanks, Rob! Thanks, Bryce! 🧛♀ Craig Zisk directed this episode.

No wonder Daniel dislikes Rashid/Armand to this day. His mind may have forgotten but his body remembers what was done to him.

Hi, guys, do you plan, on seeing, the 1994 movie? thanks 4 ur reactions
I think it would be really interesting to see them react to the movie after season 2 is over. And I'm sure that's what they've been recommended to do due to season 2 spoilers that are within the movie.
What happened to zach?
Lmaooo ya'll don't think a Vampire is a good person?

Louis is my absolute favorite character
I'm standing by my dislike of Daniel. What was done to him was so messed up. But so was him ambushing Louis like that about his s word attempt.
6:47
Together: "DANIEL!?"
😂😂
