He was his own companion because he dumped Armand. But Lestat and Louis were really always together. Just in different ways. These actors are out of this world talented. Jacob (Louis) had to play revenge Louis in the past, Louis still in love w/Armand before the realization in dubai, and then 'I am companion enough' Louis present day. Sam (Lestat) had to play different versions of Lestat through other peoples memories. He is only just now playing the real Lestat in NOLA present day. Insane!! Glad you guys enjoyed the show!
Yea! I think Sam did a great job playing Lestat in Louis' mind (and the writing crushed it there). He was like just a bit different. Occasionally overly menacing (like Louis feared), occasionally overly sappy (like Louis wished), but with the same sort of charm, and then add in some of Louis' mannerisms...
I love Louis' I Own the Night scene. It's shows that he has finally found peace and is accepting the dark gift. He can finally be all the beautiful things he is and be them without apology. Louis taught Lestat how important it is to keep your humanity (him eating animals), and Lestat taught Louis to accept his vampiric nature I love that in his meditation room he is keeping Claudia's dress and a portrait of Paul, the two most important people that he has lost. Great reactions as always you two. I hope season 3 is as amazing as season 1 and 2 🙏🏽
Sam and Jacob have really good chemistry, you can tell they really love working together. Jacob really brought me to this series, i became a fan of his because of his music. Not to mention Game Of Thrones. Im really glad he's finally able to show ppl just how talented an artist he is in this series. Both of of them are awesome. What a amazing season man this show does not disappoint from the writing to every performance that Louie and lestat scene had me tearing up my favourite couple fr I cannot wait for the next season loved these reactions
Rob, you were so real when you said they're your OTP, like, same bro. I aspire to have (and fear having) love like their's-- no one is doing it like them. I wanted to dieeee in the finale when they finally met up. The grief of cut-short fatherhood they've suffered alone (but also by their own fault bc they were never the best to or for Claudia, sadly, she really deserved better 😔 gone too soon in the stormy romance of these two therapy-needing idiots-in-love-- but she loved them in spite of it all, which makes it hurt all the more) and the pain of reuniting w the only other person on planet earth who means what they mean to each other.... THE PAIN. Vampire Slayer Louis de Cunt du Lac can drain me and i'd thank him, like wtf.... i've been deadass wailing with tears in my eyes to twitter takes and amv edits of these fucking vampires for months now, in so much actual pain that it should be studied. like why do they feel like family like that? I'm invested like these are my own fucking parents or like I'M Louis or Lestat-- what drugs did they put in this show to make it so potent??????? It really speaks to the soul. I need y'all to get Zuff to watch this, either on his own time or on a re-react w all of u, bc he Loves Romance™ lol.
This show is phenomenal. This finale is so so good too, it wraps things up with Louis so perfectly. The scene with Louis and Lestat reuniting was tragically beautiful too.
I know most people are talking about how they wanted to see Louis beat down Armand (because that b^tch deserved it)- but Louis with his memories intact would've learned not to fight and older, more powerful vampire - especially one that can be out in the sun. Also, Armand was a sub who like to top from the bottom, all Louis needed to do was establish his dominance to win, not fight. The Talamasca knew how dangerous Louis was because of Lestat being his maker. Louis is much more powerful then even he realized because he was running from his vampiric nature. But when he was crazy and hellbent on revenge - he was a force to be reckoned with. It also took Claudia a much longer time to die from the sunlight because she too carried the blood of Akasha from Lestat. So Lestat watching her die probably made him realize that he couldn't be killed. Also something to think about - Armand said he preserved Louis happiness. Daniel made Louis happy. Maybe his turning Daniel wasn't fully out of spite. Perhaps it was as apology gift to Louis. Perhaps it's because Armand finally found someone in Daniel who could best him & hold his own against him. And by being his maker - he would always have someone he couldn't read and would therefore be a match for his own mind. Or perhaps Daniel wanted the gift. We'll see in season three perhaps.
Armand himself said that just the thought of turning someone into a vampire repulses him even to this current day, so for him to turn Daniel he would have had to have a real good reason. We could say spite or anger but that is still not enough for him to do that considering that this would not only be his first time changing someone but the act of changing someone is so personal that he would've had to go through the whole thing and still chosen to do it. The fact that we didn't see Daniel get changed means something crazy happened with that and I can't wait to see it.
I think the whole thing was about Armand getting rid of Louis and Claudia so Lestat would have him, and Lestat ended up saving Louis, getting morose about losing Claudia, and rejecting Armand. So Armand let Louis out to try his chances with Louis. And it worked. For awhile. Lol
Maybe Armand would let them kill Louis so Lestat would be devastated, but I don't think he wanted Lestast. If he didn't love Louis, he wouldn't have endured his behavior for so long. Also, in the books, Armand is the one who saves Louis in the trial. So yes, he was in love with Louis, but not enough to save him that day.
Outstanding finale to a wonderful season. I love that they went ahead and revealed that Armand turned Daniel. Armand has never made a vampire. Lestat revealing that he has the blood of Akasha is an Easter egg for us book readers. She's the first vampire. I believe we will get part of her story in S3. Lestat will be front and center in S3 and he's very much alive and thriving. I've enjoyed watching this with y'all. The wait for S3 begins!
Theory: Lestat reborn near water = Blue vampire eyes Louis reborn in church = "Eyes look like a church window" ‐ Grace Claudia reborn in fire = Red vampire eyes Daniel reborn in the Dubai penthouse = Grayish eyes like the walls of the house
One of the BEST season finales I've seen in a LONG time. Again I cried at Louis and Lestats reunion. Daniel is so cool. I am so excited for season three which as you said is going to be Lestat doing the "going public" as a rock star or something and the vampire community all PO'd at him for doing it. Season 3 should be very Lestat central. Louis is my fav though! And like you said what happened to Armand and Lastat? MORE MORE MORE please.
Not the Lestat imitations "Mon cher, how could you?" 😂. I enjoyed watching your reactions, especially Rob's face during the reunion. You guys are hilarious. See you guys for season 3.
I read on somebody else's comment that September 8th 1973 was when Anne Rice finished the books. That's the date that the Lestat quotes to Louis of his attempted suicide.
It wasn't Armand that got the other vampires mad at Louis, it was Daniel. He published the book and painted a target on Louis -- or as Armand put it in season 1, he was chronicling a suicide. Anyway, Louis clearly doesn't understand The Cloud.
Louis isn't a known liar. Louis has had 77 years of Armand altering his memories and erasing information. He's an unreliable narrator because of what Armand has been doing to keep him in the relationship. Louis has had his truth, his autonomy and his decisions stripped away by Armand, the man who murdered his child and then warped his memories just to play house with him. Louis is rightfully taking some time to heal himself and not be in a relationship. The Dubai apartment was his - from all his business dealings & investments. At the end he redecorated it and brought color back in. The Vampire Lestat book is about Lestat's past but also Lestat becoming a rock star singing about being a vampire to draw the attention off Louis from the vamps wanting to kill him. Daniel & Lestat will be helping to protect Louis until it flips when Akasha awakens and comes for Lestat. Season three is going to be amazing! And Roland Jones promised that Louis & Daniel will not be sidelined in the next season, like they are in the second book.
Armand didn't distort Louis' memories of what did and didn't happen with Lestat; he also wasn't lying on purpose. He remembers some things differently than they happened because he doesn't want to accept some of the things he'd done and the choices he made. Armand only altered the memories that had to do with himself. I think Armand's thing is he'll do anything to save his ass in the moment and acts on whatever opportunity comes his way. He definitely didn't give a fuck about Claudia, though. I don't think he had anything personal against her exactly except that he didn't particularly want a stepchild in his relationship. She was just a problem for him so he removed it. When Louis became a problem, he removed him too. I think he just wants to belong to someone or something and he thought the coven was a more stable bet, then when the coven was going, he needed a new deal. He has no idea who he is outside of whatever role he's playing or relationship he's in. Which makes sense- he went from being a slave to a child prostitute to a servant/child bride to a cult member to a cult leader. People give him a new name, he can't even remember who he was before all that.
@moonlily1 you're giving Armand way too much credit. It's quite clear Louis is unreliable because of his own issues. The only memory tampering done by Armand is the 73 interview stuff.
@@saahir18 No, that's what I said though, that Louis remembers some things wrong for reasons to do with himself. Armand has definitely fucked with him but Louis was already fucked up when he met him. And Louis wasn't a saint to Armand, either, though that excuses absolutely none of Armand's choices.
@@moonlily1 Just by messing with one memory forces the mind to readjust to create a new cohesion, a new narrative. Yeah Louis had issues from the get go. But as someone who specializes in working with people's subconscious mind, Armand most likely distorted Louis' perception of Lestat and his time with him, so in Louis's retelling of his time with Lestat, the narrative would've been skewed. Memory is not always accurate because it is reorganized and reframed by the person telling it, when they are telling it. And the story being told to Daniel is by someone who has had their mind warped for 7 decades.
@@saahir18 Do you honestly think that Louis would've stayed with anyone even remotely connected to the death of Claudia? Would anyone? If Armand was that powerful in mind warping Louis, who's to say he hadn't been doing that since the end of his coven. I think the shock of Louis choosing him - even if only to spite Lestat would've made him desperate to maintain his narrative...to maintain his relationship with Louis.

I loved yall's reactions to the reunion in NOLA, lol. It was so sweet. I think we're all going to have a lot of fun with season 3. The Vampire Lestat is a rollercoaster of a novel.
I love how Louis and Armand are waxing poetic about how wonderful their life has been since Paris. Then Daniel is like "let me shut this s*it down real quick" 🤌🏼 13:15
Right, like we didn’t see how they slept with enough room for Jesus and all 12 of his disciples between them in bed. Old Daniel never even entertained the fairytale romance they were trying to portray. He told them “keep selling it” He didn’t believe them no matter how many martinis he had 😂
Great seeing you guys as excited as we are! I love how they set up for s3. Did you catch how the other vampire said enjoy your rats? Lestat not only doesn't seem to be hunting for himself but is also eating rats instead of people. 21:48
I love how the first time we actually see Lestat in present day he just looks much less grandiose and more like a regular person, albeit a depressed regular person. He looks like a faded version of what we've been seeing him as the whole series. In flashbacks, he always looks like the main character of someone else's story and it almost shocked me to see him look so ordinary. To be fair, they all have a less romanticized look to them in modern day and maybe I'm just reading into it. I also saw another comment that pointed out how Lestat is wearing the same robe he wore the first time he and Louis "hung out" all these decades later and something about that makes me sad, not sure why yet. I just discovered this show a few weeks ago and I have become so obsessed.
The reason it's not obvious that Daniel is messaging someone, is because interviewers routinely take notes during these types of interviews. Remember when Daniel said just some things I noticed & jot down (in other words, some notes I took about questions I had). Or something very close to that effect. So to them it just seems like he taking notes about what they're saying.
@@enchantedboy66 so many people have been demonizing Lestat and saying how awful he is. Now many of those people are changing their tune. We knew Lestat would never want Louis dead.

I finished the season and immediately started a rewatch of season 1. The literal Easter eggs and foreshawdowing for this season everywhere! The robe Lestat wears at the end of 8 is the same one brand new he's wearing episode 1. Ahhh, it's so good! Even in 8...like season 1, Armand covered his hands with gloves all season long until the reaveal, but if you watch Daniels interview in the finale, he has his vampire nails on full display on the tv show.
I'd love to see your reaction to S3 trailer and lyric video. Lestat's glam rock is driving people crazy online! After Daniel's book, it seems like instead of writing one of his own as a response to Louis' depiction of him (like it happens in Anne Rice's books), Lestat will tell his life in a documentary... directed by Daniel.

Yes, you are missing a lot at least from the book’s perspective. Original book readers didn’t know all the facts at time either. We didn’t find out certain things until book 2 TVL. There may be some additional reveals that happen next season from Lestat’s POV with whatever twist the show has in mind. Fair warning- You still may not like the reason that’s given. And not because it doesn’t jive with the book version. The thing is, Claudia is a tragic character that was always going to die too soon. The character of Claudia is based on Anne Rice’s daughter who died of leukemia at age 5. Can you imagine how helpless Anne and Stan felt, and the fall out that can happen between the parents because of it? All that to say, Louis and Lestat as her “parents” were never going to be able to save Claudia. Her death is meant to be untimely and unfair.
I think next season they'll be on separate journeys. Lestat on tour dealing with his emotions and us hearing and learning more about him. Louis may be like a vampire beast, fighting everyone like blade! I'm thinking they'll get back together in s4

The rocks in Louis’s “zen garden” look like the rocks that were in his locked coffin. This episode was beautiful and I love Lestat/louis.
Louis taught Lestat how important it is to keep your humanity (him eating animals), and Lestat taught Louis to accept his vampiric nature
I love that in his meditation room he is keeping Claudia's dress and a portrait of Paul, the two most important people that he has lost. Great reactions as always you two. I hope season 3 is as amazing as season 1 and 2 🙏🏽
Season 3 will be epic 😊
Sam and Jacob have really good chemistry, you can tell they really love working together. Jacob really brought me to this series, i became a fan of his because of his music. Not to mention Game Of Thrones. Im really glad he's finally able to show ppl just how talented an artist he is in this series. Both of of them are awesome. Great writing and story. 👍🏾 The entire cast awesome
What a amazing season man this show does not disappoint from the writing to every performance that Louie and lestat scene had me tearing up my favourite couple fr I cannot wait for the next season loved these reactions
This show is so damn good. I dont think ive ever loved a show as much as i love this one. Im excited for season 3!
Great analysis
@@116ohmygosh Thank you:)😃
I love how in the books Louis is a week vampire but in the series he’s stronger
Armand himself said that just the thought of turning someone into a vampire repulses him even to this current day, so for him to turn Daniel he would have had to have a real good reason. We could say spite or anger but that is still not enough for him to do that considering that this would not only be his first time changing someone but the act of changing someone is so personal that he would've had to go through the whole thing and still chosen to do it.
The fact that we didn't see Daniel get changed means something crazy happened with that and I can't wait to see it.
I also think Armand is both annoyed and fascinated about Daniel
Louis told Armand to keep Daniel alive as a testament to their relationship. So if Daniel can’t die, then Louis and Armand can never be divorced 😂
this finale was so so good. cannot wait for next season omg
Y’all should check out the Hannibal series if you are into this. This really feels like Hannibal walked so IWTV could fly with the cloud gift.
Funnily enough, the Hannibal TV show definitely looks inspired by parts of Interview with the Vampire (the books)
Theory:
Lestat reborn near water = Blue vampire eyes
Louis reborn in church = "Eyes look like a church window" ‐ Grace
Claudia reborn in fire = Red vampire eyes
Daniel reborn in the Dubai penthouse = Grayish eyes like the walls of the house
I just realized the tour guide said lesander instead of lestat 😂
One of the BEST season finales I've seen in a LONG time. Again I cried at Louis and Lestats reunion. Daniel is so cool. I am so excited for season three which as you said is going to be Lestat doing the "going public" as a rock star or something and the vampire community all PO'd at him for doing it. Season 3 should be very Lestat central. Louis is my fav though! And like you said what happened to Armand and Lastat? MORE MORE MORE please.
was stalking the channel waiting for thisssss!
Guys realize that their last scene together was the first where lestat is not being a character in Louis story, it’s really him
So glad you enjoyed the episode and season. I always appreciate your reactions, especially your iwtv ones!
Now is explained why Armand was always on top of anything Daniel did.
Not the Lestat imitations "Mon cher, how could you?" 😂. I enjoyed watching your reactions, especially Rob's face during the reunion. You guys are hilarious. See you guys for season 3.
I love this show so much
I’ve been waiting for y’all’s reaction!!!
Anyway, Louis clearly doesn't understand The Cloud.
i love love love this episode, and its always a treat to watch your reactions
You guys are so fun to watch, I love how it shows how much you enjoy the show and how you absorb it all. This was my favourite reaction of yours to date and can't wait to see you guys again for s3.
The vampires coming for Louis have nothing to do with Armand, it’s about him writing a book about vampire and it breaks the laws
lestat giving peak ipad kid energy while louis is very much still in his print media era
From interviews I've read, in the book, Louis's (and other vamps') eye color changes when light hits it --- so they do this in the show!
I loved this reaction video!! Most of the channels I watch about this show know what’s usually going to happen based on the books, but you guys are raw in seeing everything. Going to watch your other IWTV videos.
Thanks guys for being so enthusiastic and appreciative and invested in these complex characters and their twisted stories! I agree - that finale was everything I'd hoped it would be and more! Loustat are definitely my OTP! Really enjoyed your reactions - can't wait to see them for S3 too!
Vampire power is measured by both age and bloodline . Louis would be very powerful due to Lestat’s blood line
Thank you guys for doing this show. You guys’ perspectives are great and I appreciate y’all just “letting the tale seduce you” 😎
Louis not removing the rocks within his ankles
Lestat living in squalor
"We leave the damage so we remember the damage" - Claudia
i was waiting for thisssss
Louis will probably be kicking some ass, Lestat on tour but also we're definitely gonna learn more about his past and Daniel on a hunt for Armand and in search for answers (which I'm hoping!!!) and we're probably meeting some more interesting characters!
im so glad i got to see this masterpiece of a show through your eyes. i loved the keen insight and the character analysis you guys provided. great watch. much love guys. xoxo
Thank you for the reactions, I really enjoyed them all season!
really loved watching your reactions, especially as folks who didn't know anything about the books. can't wait for season 3 :)
I was obsessed with season one a couple of years ago but then forgot about this show. Have a lot of downtime lately, been enjoying much of your content and saw there was a season 2 on here so I caught up with AMC and then binged your reactions as well. Was really enjoyable watching you both and the comments also brought some extra insight, thanks again guys!
PS I’m right there with you Rob, it has always been Lestat. So excited for next season, hope they include his wildest acts from the book - and show those damn cakes again! 🙏🏻🤣
Rob's Lestat impression 7/10 Bryce's 5/10 😅 (Sorry Bryce, love ya bro) 12:47
Such a strong season with an amazing, beautiful, surprising, touching finale! Loved your reactions to this. Can't wait for Season 3!
Like I said at the end of Season 1: "love of my life," my ass! Louis + Lestat forever! ❤
We knew Lestat would be redeemed by the end of the season. Did you like the reconciliation scene in New Orleans?
@@cullenarthur8879 They share a heart. Their love is the well with no bottom. ❤
@@enchantedboy66 so many people have been demonizing Lestat and saying how awful he is. Now many of those people are changing their tune. We knew Lestat would never want Louis dead.
gosh best tv show of the year!!
This is a great finale.
I'm hoping for Season 3, with Akasha, the first vampire, making an appearance in the series.
Wow that was a great ending
Now let’s watch the 90s movie version! ❤
Y’all doing the Lestat voice always gives me a giggle
Nanniiiiiii where is tvd but stilll this ep shocked me mostly for someone who hasn’t read the books or seen the movie 😂😂
Akasha and Enkil were the first vampires. Akasha was 6,000 years old. Lestat is an extremely powerful fledgling due to blood of powerful vampires.
Spoilers. This information isn't given in the show yet so there's no need to tell them this.
@@yasminemixon9340 He literally says "I have the blood of Akasha" in the previous episode, during the dungeon scene.
@anomis-t2q he didn't say "akasha and enkil were the first vampires" we're not supposed to know who she is yet. We're just supposed to know that she's someone important and more powerful than armand.
@@yasminemixon9340 True. But readers of the books know that. And, honestly, anyone who loves this series, but hasn't read the books, can google any name that's mentioned and find out a bit more :-)
Besides, we're not spoiling much, anyway. This series has a fascinating way of straying from the source material, while also staying true to it.
Agreed I was worried that it wouldn’t live up to s1 but I was wrong !!! I think overall I rather season 1 whole but S2 second half was unreal !!
I’ve been waiting on this ahhhh the loustat reunion was so sad I was happy then they just broke my heart I feel like a season of this show will never be happy it’ll always be bad or break ur heart 😭 but I’m too deep in to stop now I’m so excited for season three🎸
I knew it. Watching ep7 I knew there was something wrong, Lestat would never let Louis die. This ep was so good, their reunion scene was very sad to watch as we can finally see them be honest and actually communicate
I finished the season and immediately started a rewatch of season 1. The literal Easter eggs and foreshawdowing for this season everywhere! For example, why does Loius pay Daniel 10 million dollars, because he says season 1 that 10 million dollars is his whore number.
After Daniel's book, it seems like instead of writing one of his own as a response to Louis' depiction of him (like it happens in Anne Rice's books), Lestat will tell his life in a documentary... directed by Daniel.
you guys should 100% watch the behind the scenes / commentary from cast and crew after each episode. not telling you to react to them but in your own time if you feel called to them. i think they're really interesting and offer so much insight into what the characters were thinking etc
Rob is such a romantic! And, I love him for it! His Lestat impression has improved 100% over the Season, too. Awesome season. I'm watching House of Dragons now, so I'll watch your episode reviews of that.
Great reaction! Great season! This is actually the end of the first book and the movie with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. You should watch that
I don't think it would be simple for them to get back together. They're both dealing with the guilt of what happened to Claudia. 22:54
❤ this show IWTV. That "portal' is the The Dubai Frame, Connecting past, present & future. Great Reaction to the entire series
this show and NBC Hannibal are twin flames to me, if you loved this you’d love Hannibal!
I loved watching this reactions series, awesome job :)
Please guys, give a brief review of the AMC teaser for the 3rd season, which starts the 2nd book, "The Vampire Lestat". The clip is titled, "Meet the Vampire Lestat ft. Sam Reid". It's fucking amazing!
What a show omggg
You guys imitating Lestat's voice is hilarious!
Season 3 was ofc confirmed so be ready! :D
Uggggh the gothic Jane Eyre storm of it all!!! 23:04
Still waiting for you guys reacting to the teaser for season 3 🙃
This episode was so beautiful 😍
I recommend Hannibal Tv show after this
the reunion broke my heart, and I was always team loustat, never cared for Armand. Daniel said it correctly, just a rebound.
lol great impression of Lestat. I almost thought it was him
Louis listened to Euphoria by Kendrick Lamar in the end scene fr
Now would be the perfect time for y'all to compare the tv series to the *movie* INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (1994), as the events have caught up. 🩸 I'm so excited for Season 3, which was greenlit before this finale dropped. 🩸 Many thanks to Bryce and Rob!!! 🧛♀
Fantastic soundtrack. I want to see Sam's Lastat, shirtless in tight leather pants, hip thrusting, and hip rolling across the stage. Singing his heart out.
@@sebastianwhosez4897 I right there with ya, Sebastian. 🍻
Omg I watched the movie after the finale and honestly no shade to Tom/Brad/Kirsten but it just doesn’t compare. The series is far superior. I love the story. Can’t wait til S3
@@adrianTurbogocrazy They're kind of like apples and oranges (since the tv series has more time plus modern techniques). The movie is old fashioned... but I think it's very useful to compare. I *love* the tv series!!!
@@adrianTurbogocrazyI just rewatched the queen of the damned and feel exactly the same way
Louis and lestat will always be special to each other, be in eachother’s corners and be two fathers who lost a daughter. But they need some time to have their own adventures for a while. Louis has not been single in over 100 years, he needs to breathe haha. I’m so looking forward to lestat’s rock star time, as long as Louis pops in as a friend too 😊
i keep thinking about this one thing still; when armand claimed to have saved louis, daniel was like 'why didnt u save claudia then?' and when we found out it was lestat, it just got me wondering that well... why didnt lestat either? he was so remorseful afterwards, its just a lil confusing maybe im missing something
