Wow, I've always thought I was into slimmer/shorter cuts, but seeing them side-by-side I would 100% take the S&M over the SS. I actually have a made to measure suit from SS that I like, but sadly it is starting to feel slightly off because the jacket is slightly short and the top button feels so high.
I like the length of suit supply but the lapels are so much nicer and the Irish linen as well on the S&M jacket. I'm also between a 38 and 40, am 5' 11", similar build, and also have one arm shorter than the other, so you're the absolute perfect guy for me to watch haha! Great comparison, man! I might consider Spier and Mackay next
Thanks for the videos. In future Jacket reviews I would love to know about the arm hole. Off the rack suits tend to have large arm holes rather than high cut arm holes. They always look silly when you raise your arm and it moved the whole jacket. If anyone is making an off the rack with a high arm hole I would love to know.
Good idea of something to show in a video. I only wear stuff with higher armholes, and both Spier & Mackay and SuSu tout that about their fits. The whole jacket doesn't move much when you raise your arms with these brands.
Its easy to understand for those with a good eye. SuSu is more casual look, it works with the light blue shirt exactly for that, while Spier Mackay is has that almost tuxedo look thanks to the texture and fuller colour. So, for casual look clearly SuSu is the winner, for more formal, Spier and Mackay
i don't mind the shorter, total length of the Suit Supply Suits, but i really didn't like the shorter sleeve lengths of suit supply. I rarely reach for my suite supply coat these days
Yes, the shorter, slimmer suit has its uses (depending on your physical build), but short sleeves combined with functional sleeve buttons that can't easily be altered are not a great combination.
This is so interesting 🤔 when did you buy your SuitSupply jacket, if you don’t mind me asking? I also have a SuitSupply casual suit which I use the jacket from more often than the suit it self 😅 and some Spier And Mackay sports jackets. In my experience Spier and Mackay jackets are considerably slimmer in the cut OTR then SuitSupply 🤔 remember that I had to get my SuitSupply jacket tailored (around 5 years ago), but my Spier And Mackay jacket fitted pretty much perfect, no alterations needed. Both size 38 (Mackay contemporary)
This one is from around 2016 or 2017. I found that newer models in the years since then have seemed even slimmer. Perhaps they vary in terms of quality control (for both brands).
Thanks for your comprehensive comparisson. Spier and Mackay suits aren't even that expensive, but i live in Europe, so i'd have to pay import tarifs :((((((((
Their quality and fits are not consistent at all, their MTM is horrible, their fabrics are hit or miss, the last linen shirts I bought from them was 1 white and 1 blue, the white linen shirt had better heavier fabric and fits okay but the blue linen was bad in fit and horrible in fabric, the blue linen became unwearable after one wash, how can they make the same shirt styles but the white had better fabric than the blue?,I reached out to customer service and they refused to do anything about it,so far I have 2 MTM shirts and 1 blue linen shirt that are unwearable,I have bought a total of 6 shirts from SPIER & MACKAY and 3 of them are unwearable.
You seem to have a personal vendetta against Spier & Mackay. If you're not happy with their product, leave a review to THEM, so they can adjust whatever you find so horrible. Spewing spam in YT comments is not going to do anything besides tire your thumbs out.
The lapel roll sets the S&M apart.

Thanks. IMO, the S&M look definitely better on you.

Ha! Thanks, Demetrios.
Great video! Now I have more info to make an educated decision. I'll give Suitsupply a go.

Good observation. I find I am looking at some jackets from Suitsupply this season again, so they're not out of the picture!
Great video, Spier & Mackay looked better on you! Lapel is fuller. I think you have an older suituspply Havana cut.
Is the latest Susu Havana better or worse than the older version in your view? I've picked up a few recently and found they didn't fit me well.
@@gentlemenscholarsclub for my body type, the newer stuff fits better. I get a 38R and lengthen all of the sleeves!
You look great sir
Thank you kindly
I like them both! Thanks. S & M has better deal, however.
Nice job, good info. Fit is king.
Appreciate it!
S&M wide notch lapel set it apart ❤❤❤💯

you look like a rich guy in SuitSupply. you look like you have a great job in S&M
What size is the S&M?
38 contemporary
I think you need to return to Italy 🇮🇹 to show them how it’s done, lol, and thank God for epitome’s
Spier is way better fitting
The neo cut jacket is a much better cut for that look and color way and your body
Suit Supply won’t cut it 😅
S&M 👌🏽 It just looks better in design, shape and detail.

Too much talk with too little information. SS is much too tight...very poor fit. Are you shilling for S&M?
Nope
